How did you select Blue House Technologies?

"Talent Alpha" company after receiving our expectations regarding contractor that we were seeking for, proposed us few candidates. With each of them we had a individual call to asses their skills. Based on this, representative of Blue House Technology was selected.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I can't share any project outcomes itself as it was PoC - Proof of Concept and there are no KPI's that could be presented. What I can say that contractor was like one man army. He was capable to deal with any issue, even if it was slightly out of his scope that was agreed at the beginning.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our contractor was in contact on daily basis with Senior Architect and at least once a day updated him about progress in implementation. At the same time, the whole team has catch-up calls twice a week.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was really impressed by the contractor's wide knowledge, he was an easy going person, openminded, capable of dealing with aby kind of tasks.

Nope ;)

My company is called Talent Alpha and I’m one of the co-founders. I’m focused on customer success and projects, and business delivery. We are a talent marketplace, as well as a talent management and human cloud company providing tech, talent, service, and analytics.

We hired Blue House Technologies because we wanted to integrate with SAP Fieldglass in order to drive more business for our human cloud.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve had other projects with them before and had them on projects for our clients. In this latest one, they did a business analysis and technical architecture. They also spearheaded the integration of our human cloud platform with the SAP Fieldglass platform. By doing so, they've enabled us to have a new business line. We just finished the first phase of the project, but there will still be different stages they have to work on.

I work with one person who we require to do a full stack and management job.

Having worked with them before, we knew they offer excellent quality work and they also had incredible feedback from our third-party clients. Their outstanding reputation convinced us to work with them.

We started collaborating in October 2020, and the work is ongoing.

Their high-quality work not just from a technical perspective, but also from a partnership perspective has impressed us. They've represented us well to SAP Fieldglass. They’re also good with international clients.

We mostly communicate through email, MS Teams, phone, and video conferences. They are always on time and available. Above all, they do everything quickly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were adding value not just on a technical basis, but on a design basis as well. Their ownership has also been admirable too.

I do not have any criticism for them.

We’ve already recommended them to our clients because we have our talent marketplace and therefore in the virtue of doing that as well as our experience with them, we do recommend others to work with them.

Our product is an innovative chatbot generation platform, working natively out of Microsoft Business Apps ecosphere. We aim to provide the best no-code virtual agents out there through our deep system of integrations with all major channels & communication platforms. I'm one of the co-founders and CEO of the organization.

For what projects/services did your company hire Blue House Technologies?

We hired Blue House to assist with development work on a series of projects related to initial prototype build as well as ongoing software support in the areas of database development, AI enhancements, web design, API design, and scalability/backend services.

What were your goals for this project?

This project was crucial for our startup as it allowed us to accelerate platform building without expensive staff recruitment. It meant we were able to go from concept to a fully working tech product in under a year, which gave us a massive head start.

How did you select Blue House Technologies?

We have been looking for a software house with a reputation for quality work and managed, were recommended Blue House through mutual connections. The decision process was relatively quick and painless. Deciding factors were skillset, budget, and how reassuring Blue House has been in the process.

Describe the project in detail.

Pretty standard agile software development. I was the product owner, reviewed progress, user stories, and criteria on the daily basis. I was working predominantly in the functional space, but also advised on technical challenges and organized the work between Blue House and our in-house development team.

What was the team composition?

Blue House provided 2-4 full-time resources (software developers, with various skillsets - API, AI, DB work, but also front-end React, JavaScript, Kubernetes, solution architecture) - the requirements were ramping up so we started with 2 resources and at the project's height we're using 4 resources.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our product and platform are live now, so that is the best outcome we could have hoped for :-).

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very. The team is extremely agile, professional, attentive to detail, and willing to go above and beyond to ensure quality delivery. We were using Trello and GitHub for most of our needs. The workflow was pretty loose and we didn't have any needs for more structure - the relationship was based on mutual trust.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The level of skillset, dedication to project success. The entire team worked frequently out of hours and offered support above and beyond what you would expect. Any changes in scope (which were frequent) were always met with a smile and a positive attitude.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing I can talk about from the top of my head.

I’m the founder and CEO of Café Ole – Sound Studio. We’re responsible for post-production and technology development of special effects for feature films and sound productions.

We needed a system to support us in production and business management.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Blue House Technologies created software that produces the best post-production quality possible. They built a customized business management system that helps our internal team members be more effective in their work. It’s a web and mobile application that’s compatible with Android and iPhone.

The solution supports every step of production from editing to the final mixing — basically, everything done in the studio is in the system. The system also counts our workers’ hours, including external hires such as voice-over actors. It also features a payment tool and shows us how much money we earn.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a project manager; Michal (Software Architect), who was in charge of architecture; and two developers named Maciej (SEO Expert) and Robert (Frontend Engineer). I’m pretty sure there was a bigger team behind-the-scenes, but those are the four I interacted with.

How did you come to work with Blue House Technologies?

We had worked with Michal in the past. This team, unlike any other we considered, understood the specifics of our job and processes.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested about $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2018–June 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All of our projects are organized and under control from the very beginning of the engagement now, including cost control. We can plan, budget, and schedule much better with this system. Documentation is also much better. Having the mobile app enables our producers to work remotely, which is very important. We’re very happy with the solutions.

They were very strong in managing the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very patient with us and knew what they were doing. Their team worked fast and presented solutions to questions we didn’t even ask. They exceeded our expectations, and we plan to work with them on another project.

We needed help to develop an MVP (minimum viable product).

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They partnered with us to create the software for our platform from scratch. They did frontend design, and, in the backend, they helped us transition from using an external server to taking information directly from our own directory.

The whole system is in .NET and uses PL and Kibana. The frontend is done in Angular.

What is the team composition?

There were a project manager and 4–5 front- and backend developers working with us.

How did you come to work with Blue House Technologies?

They were one of two companies that met our criteria. They presented proposals for the project, and we chose them after a few meetings, in which we discussed the project and looked at mock-ups they created.

We worked together from April 2019 until November 2019.

It was good for our venture capital. We were able to show the MVP version and our proof of concept results.

They cooperated with us on the project, showing more flexibility than other companies. They also provided competent architecture.

What challenge were you trying to address with Blue House Technologies?

Our projects were increasing. The agency we were using couldn’t meet the needs, so we were looking for a partner to work with us on multiple web development projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, they worked on a small project, but the complexity grew as time went on. They did web development for several projects including building campaign landing pages. They integrated services such as marketing and automation platforms as well.

Our main points of contact were Michal (Co-Founder) and Lukasz (Frontend Engineer). They acted as team manager and tech lead, respectively. There were between two and five additional developers.

We worked together from February 2018 – March 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

There was an adjustment period, as there always is when working with a new agency. They were flexible and made the necessary adjustments to meet our requirements. They managed to do more than we expected at the beginning of the engagement. 

We were happy with their deliverables. They were reactive with a quick turnaround time; responding within hours or even overnight.

How did Blue House Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They scaled up their team quickly when we needed to meet deadlines. I can’t recall them missing any deadlines. We communicated through emails, supplementing with some tools. They were always available when we wanted to discuss the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Regardless of project size, they were quick to implement updates required to deliver the product. They had the perfect mix of speed and quality, allowing companies like Electrolux to get the most out of the collaboration. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There could always be improvements on the creative side such as graphic design. However, that is not the core of what they do.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open about the full scope of the project and your ultimate goals. Use them as an equal partner; they might have solutions you wouldn’t find elsewhere.

I’m the co-founder of a big data marketing firm that provides services to other companies. Our team is mostly focused on data science and backend development.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Blue House Technologies?

We developed algorithms for a client, who is an advertising agency, and provided them the APIs, but they also wanted us to build a dashboard. We’re in a very specific field of data and AI, and all of our dashboards are data-oriented. The client had requirements regarding the look and feel of the application, but they couldn’t give us the proper technical specifications. 

The only thing we had was a video made by the creative teammates in the agency which we had to transform into an application. We got in touch with Blue House Technologies to help us with frontend development.

I was initially afraid of the company not delivering the right quality because the design was very unusual. They had to develop something on their own without preexisting components.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The overall project is to build an AI platform composed of three elements: the AI engine, the backend, and the frontend. Blue House Technologies developed the frontend of the app and went through multiple iterations, and we developed the other two internally.

The team helped us design the app and implement all of the elements. That wasn’t so easy, because there were a lot of client-specific components. After the first iteration, Blue House provided the core application with all its basic functionalities, and we validated the design with our client. Finally, they connected it to our backend system.

What is the team composition?

There have been about five teammates involved throughout the collaboration.

How did you come to work with Blue House Technologies?

Someone in my professional network recommended them, saying that they were capable of doing complex frontend development.

We’ve invested about $33,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first iteration ran between March–April 2019. There was a second iteration in September–October 2019. We’ve just finalized the third iteration, and we’re planning another one. The collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve done all the tasks we’ve asked of them, but I don’t have any specific KPIs. We work for a B2B client, so I have no tools to keep track of the impact. Blue House Technologies met the requirements for commercializing the tool and improving user engagement. Our client is happy, and, from our perspective, we got what we needed.

How did Blue House Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We defined the collaboration between us precisely, and it was quite smooth. Blue House Technologies isn’t a big company, so they’re quite agile, conveniently allowing us to avoid overhead. My overall impression is very positive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What I appreciate the most is that they’re able to provide a very good-looking application with creative design. I have experience working with 3–4 other companies, and Blue House Technologies is the best. Their coding is good and their design is better than the others’. Additionally, they’re always able to implement whatever we ask them for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only aspect is the cost. If someone’s developing a very simple application, they might not need such high-quality developers. For complex apps that require a very good profile, I’d go for Blue House Technologies.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Define what you need precisely and communicate with them. If you manage to do that, they’ll deliver anything you want.

I’m the CEO and founder of a company called PsiBufet. We sell fresh dog food from a subscription and using home delivery.

What challenge were you trying to address with Blue House Technologies?

I had an MVP of my platform already, and I needed a partner to help create a digital presence to help me scale up the company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created a website and all of our static pages from the ground up, including the home page, contact page, FAQ, blog, and everything involved in navigating between those pages. I provided them with a UX/UI that I developed separately with a graphic designer, and then they executed on bringing all of those designs to life and maintaining them from there.

Blue House Technologies also helped set up and implement a variety of systems within the site, including the WordPress CMS where I can update the blog content, an email marketing connection through MailChimp, the payment provider for actual customer purchases, and a plan suggestion application that helps people decide what subscription is right for their dog.

What is the team composition?

I worked with two members of their team, one on the business side who helped develop the scope of the project and pricing at the beginning as well as a project manager who handled the actual coding involved in the project.

How did you come to work with Blue House Technologies?

My network of startup friends in Poland helped me develop an initial list of software houses to look at. Since I’m bootstrapping the company, price was the main factor in the decision. That helped me narrow the decision down to two companies, and Blue House was both located in Warsaw and very responsive to all of my messages.

The project lasted from February–April 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The most important result from the project was that their work enabled me to boost the sales of my business substantially, almost tripling what I had been able to achieve before. That allowed me to successfully engage in a round of funding, bringing in over €400,000 in VC investment that will support our future growth.

How did Blue House Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

I was satisfied with their project management skills throughout the project. They have been very professional, open, and flexible, striking a balance that made the project easy to manage. For communication, we mostly used email and messenger, as well as in-person meetings from time to time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their flexibility was very impressive. They were able to change working hours and schedule meetings with relatively short notice, which helped the project move more quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One area they could improve is the accuracy of their time estimations. We got a good product in the end but ended up taking longer than we initially expected, which required some adjusting on our end.

It’s really valuable to talk to their team before you start the cooperation and get to know them. They often work remotely, so it is good to know who you are working with when you have to make calls later on in the project.

We had worked with another company on patient tracking but needed app development for nursing home staff and patients’ families.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Blue House Technologies handled the entire project from IT consulting to the development of the app itself. The platform allows the staff to eliminate paperwork and complete everything electronically. This includes managing relevant data such as temperatures and stats. For families, it allowed them to check in on their loved ones all the time. They can see how they’re doing and have conferences on the web application.

What is the team composition?

The project managers were my main points of contact. There were at least five developers involved in the project.

They were the official vendor according to EU regulations.

How much have you invested with them?

It was between $250,000–$350,000 and was co-funded by the EU.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March 2018–November 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything was delivered and approved by the EU and the project goals were accomplished. We are now testing it in our nursing home, and Blue House Technologies is assisting with marketing. They helped us present the app in November after it was completed.

Everything was good. We held monthly meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I love their attitude. Our meetings were friendly and casual while still maintaining effectiveness.

Processes could’ve moved quicker, but it was ok overall.
