How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We decided to hire Blank Slate Digital for our website because of good reviews and local coverage in the newspaper. And also when he came to see us he was very professional and had good ideas to implement into our website

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We initially had a phone call to enquire with Toby about what he could do to help us with our website. He quickly put together a slide show on how the new site would look and also his own ideas for it as well. Toby came down to visit us and have a look at what products we are selling on the site and also took some away to photo for it also. We all sat down to make sure that we were all happy and on the same page regarding to the new sites appearance, layout etc. After we were all happy with the final design Toby got to work and quickly got the website built and live

The Brides Bouquet UK is an artificial wedding flower florist, established in 2009, our store is entirely eCommerce based, with 10000s of customers worldwide.

We had a new website built circa 2019 by a company that came highly recommended, The company we used to build the site was also the ones who were to take care of any updates, bugs, problems etc... however, we found them somewhat "difficult" to get hold of when issues occurred, reluctant to assist with the numerous problems kept repeating and eventually this company folded which we only discovered after encountering an issue with our e-commerce website & being left high & dry (simply put, without a working checkout or any method of taking payments for over a week)

We had approached a few other businesses to see if they could rectify the issues, after a few days it was obvious they couldn't help, then we were pointed in the direction of Blank Slate Digital and we hit the jackpot!

We were pointed in the direction of Blank Slate Digital by a friend & we will now not go anywhere else. Toby solved in just a few hours, the ongoing issues with our site, that 2 other companies had failed to even diagnose never mind resolve! He has kept us informed at every stage of what was happening, he came to us with proposals on how the website could be improved, gave advice on digital marketing & keyword placements etc & has quite honestly been invaluable.

Sorry I have no idea how Blank slate Digital resolved the issues I'm a florist NOT a web technician....that's why we employed them

The checkout issue was resolved within 48 hours of contacting Blank Slate Digital, implementing their advice re marketing and keyword placement, our website traffic has increased steadily over the last 2/3 months by at least 15%

Toby kept in contact with us daily, giving updates throughout by both email and phone calls.

We look forward to creating a great working relationship with him over the coming years. My website was outdated and I had some technical issues in addition to this. I wanted a sharper, more accessible website but was unsure of the look I wanted. I wanted a professional and welcoming look to the site.

I had heard about the company and seen their work. What was important to me was having someone who listened to my needs and was able to transform this into a design. The deciding factor for me was a combination of cost, timeframe and how approachable the company was.

We had an initial meeting to consider my needs and get feedback from the company regarding the original site. I then provided the company with a vague brief and Toby transformed this into a basic design to work from. We then met up to go through the website, once the content was transferred and Toby added additional features and asked for my feedback. A big part of the job was also dealing with an issue with the domain and Toby was incredibly informative and patient.

I am not at all technical but I know what I want for my company. He was able to pitch it to me without being patronising and involved me in the process when needed, but worked in the background as I carried on with my business. We are due a final handover meeting to go through what I can do myself to edit my site.

I cannot comment on traffic as this is very new. I can report that I have had very positive feedback from colleagues and clients and I am incredibly happy with the outcome.

The team responds to any queries quickly and efficiently. If he is unavailable he will tell me when he can answer queries. He has always been professional and approachable, even when I have asked a lot of questions and I'm sure he has other clients to work with.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The end result is amazing. I also know that if I have any technical issues, he will be the person I would approach in the future. I find Toby's approachability the most impressive aspect of his company. He clearly knows a great deal more than me, hence me contacting him on the first place. However, he is accessible and that is so important in my opinion.

Toby gave regular updates on at least a weekly basis as to the current status of the new website and it's content and how this translated into the 'tech world' of SEO and the new site's performance especially with regards to google searches
