I’m the partner executive at a company that works on behalf of an IT organization, providing them with support services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Biztech IT Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.?

We have 11 partner portals, as we refer to them, and a number of customer-facing portals, some of them for internal customers. 

Within these multilingual portals, there are some sections that are accessible to different people and different levels within that and users have to request an account. Once they’ve been granted access, they can then go in and use the portal. 

We’ve been working with Biztech IT Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. to develop our systems and enhance existing ones.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve been working with us on a number of different projects. Some of the portals were already in existence when we started working with Biztech IT Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. and some of them just needed photo enhancement and development, as well as maintenance work. 

Using Joomla, Biztech IT Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. has helped us develop and customize the existing partner portals and distribute the internal-facing portals. They’ve enhanced the capabilities in terms of what partners can use, what they can download, who can access the portals, what they can access, and other various functionalities.

The team is also assisting us by developing calendar and mailing functions. As request by us, our users, and our partners, Biztech IT Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. is also working on modernizing and optimizing the portals and their interfaces to make them more user-friendly.

In collaboration with the developers, the team has also built plug-ins. They’ve been able to advise us on what is possible and what isn’t, making sure that we what do is sustainable. Given that Joomla has regular updates, the team is also responsible for portal updates and maintenance to ensure optimal uptime.

After a former colleague of mine recommended them, I talked to them and discussed their capabilities to see if they’d be a suitable partner. We had a selection of other people who we spoke to and interviewed but Biztech IT Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.’s team was the most appropriate and best-suited choice.

We’ve invested about $10,000–$15,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement began in January 2019 and we’re still working with them. We pay them a monthly retainer fee to ensure that they maintain our portals on an ongoing process. We also work with them on an as-needed basis for other projects.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We don’t have metrics since their work is project-based. They’ve been very helpful to us and we’ve been extremely pleased. They’ve worked well and have delivered what they said they would. 

If they aren’t sure about something, they always ask to make sure that they’re delivering the right product.

How did Biztech IT Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been very good and we have meetings when required. Despite this obstacle, they completed the tasks as they said they would. We have meetings when they’re required.

It’s been a little challenging because the client changed their mind several times throughout the project so Biztech IT Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. missed a couple of deadlines, which wasn’t their fault. Despite this obstacle, they completed the tasks as they said they would. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their in-depth Joomla knowledge and skills have been extremely valuable for us because we don’t have that capability in-house. They are very flexible and are able to adapt to changes quickly, which happens frequently depending on our client’s requests. 

They have a strong understanding of what can and can’t be done. However, in the case that there is something they’re not entirely sure about or if we ask them for something they can’t deliver, they often try to find a readily available solution. 

Sometimes it has to be purchased and added to the system and other times, they will need to develop it. They always let us know which solution would be the best while keeping in mind the cost.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not that I can think of. It did take some time for them to understand what we were looking for which makes sense because it was a completely new way of doing things and some aspects of our business are quite complicated. There’s nothing that I would want them to be doing differently at this point.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Explain your business and exactly what you need in as much detail as you possibly can and then they will know what to do from a technical perspective. 

They need to understand the business that they’re working with in order to provide good recommendations and suggestions. That was initially where we messed up because we didn’t provide as much information as we should’ve, which was a learning experience for us.

We selected Biztech for this project because of the unique software that they offered for customers to create their own products using their own photos. We have then customized this with them to work specifically for our website.

Customizing upload software of their own and working with Magento 1 and then 2 to help us create our website. They were always willing to share the information on how to do something ourselves so we don't have to go back for help.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

To help us have the software we need finally, allowing us to now hopefully grow as intended and offer the products we could not before.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

It was managed well. Communication is done through email, skype messages and skype calls, screen sharing and documents.

I have developed a great relationship with Nitin who is available way above and beyond the times expected. This was a worry originally but we have managed to make this work almost perfectly, I would 100% recommend them because of this factor alone.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Working with Biztech has been a very smooth process. I am very impressed with this company from start to finish. I cannot praise Nitin enough, a very experienced developer who has taught me many things with Magento 1x, 2x and on servers.

We plan to do many future projects with this company and hope we can work again with the same team. A+++++

I wanted to improve our web presence. Our existing site had been built with a suitable platform and structure, but it was a bit clunky and the graphics and functionality were not appealing.

They then created a home page to display our latest products, along with a product listing page with Ajax-based “add to cart” functionality. They did page design, implemented a button to request a sample, and included product details and images.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

I’ve received great reviews from individuals who have viewed and purchased items from the website. I have confidence that we will generate many sales. In our business, it’s rare to be able to offer the direct purchase of leather from a website.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Hemal provided a great strategy, and I provided goals. He then submitted a plan with very specific goals and dates whereby each goal was to be achieved. He was supportive and very accessible throughout the project. I could not have been more pleased with every aspect of the job.

I always sensed that Hemal valued me as a customer, and he was very resourceful when we needed to work through a complicated addition to the website. Their team stayed with the project until I was completely satisfied.

Contracting with Biztech was a very refreshing experience. Their professionalism brushed away any reservations I had. There were very attentive to my specific goals and needs.

I would love to have at my disposal a handbook or videos illustrating how to edit my website.

We wanted a website with good speed and capabilities, fully functioning profiles, and a professional, user-friendly design. The overall goal was to improve our site by adding needed multivendor functionality.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We selected Biztech Consulting & Solutions after previous vendors were unable to complete the work and deliver all functionalities at a reasonable price/timeframe.

They designed, developed, and launched a website with multivendor booking capabilities, a responsive profile design, a WordPress plugin integration, and a LearnCube software integration. The project began with an initial meeting where we discussed the project’s flow and needs. We established a timeframe and price and provided requirement guidelines. Once we agreed on the established goals (with the modified and confirmed documents both signed) the first of three project phases began. We checked the requirements after each phase and migrated the completed part of the site from staging to live. Biztech introduced e-commerce functionalities and built the site with PHP and JavaScript.

What was the team composition?

We worked with a project lead, a project manager, and an eight-person technical team. The size of the team didn’t change throughout the process. The project manager was effective and responsive and kept communication constant throughout the project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

They developed and launched our site in the most efficient manner possible. Project completion was a major achievement for our startup because it gave us the proper foundation to start our hiring process. We have an ongoing development with Biztech to implement an additional project phase.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Their project management was impressive. We had phone calls and consultations ahead of each project phase and following any issues. Regular feedback and constant communication happened via email, Skype, and phone. Their team was open and responsive throughout the process, answering inquiries within hours, and sometimes even minutes, despite the time zone difference.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We had direct access to the management lead and technical lead. We also felt comfortable voicing any concerns we had regarding the process or task at hand.

While there isn’t much capable of improvement, I’d suggest expanding documentation practices to include as many details as possible regarding requirements.

We purchased their complete web-to-print solution products in two stages. The first phase involved obtaining the product in its original, unaltered form, while the second phase included 10 to 15 custom modifications. Biztechcs was expected to deliver the first-phase product within two months of the project's initiation, ensuring it was free of any defects or functional problems. 

However, they delivered the product on time, but it was riddled with functionality issues and bugs. It took an additional six months to rectify these bugs and problems. During this half-year period, we encountered considerable frustration and had to repeatedly complain. We had to allocate a dedicated individual to review the product and report these issues, which was Biztechcs' responsibility, but they failed to conduct these reviews. 

Instead, they delivered the product without any prior examination, forcing us to review and identify the issues, creating an ongoing cycle. It was only after we threatened legal action that they began to address these concerns. If we hadn't issued this ultimatum, it might have taken a year to complete the default product without any customizations. 

This six-month process was marked by frustration, financial setbacks, and project delays. Due to the absence of initial guidelines, which were only provided three months after the project's commencement, we had to revise all our product designs to ensure compatibility with the design tools. This single issue resulted in a six-month delay, additional payroll expenses, and setbacks to the project.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• The project remains unfinished, and we are currently in a state of anticipation for the completion of the customization requests.

Their mode of communication exhibited professionalism, yet it lacked dedication and substance. Faced with considerable frustration, we made numerous requests for them to schedule daily Google Meet sessions at the time of product delivery. This was because they had assured us that issues were resolved, but upon review, it appeared that they hadn't even touched them. 

After persistently raising this concern for a two-week period, they finally consented to hold these Google Meet sessions upon delivery, but this practice only continued for one week. Subsequently, we found ourselves back in a situation of ongoing complaints.
