What impressed me most about betterqa was their exceptional attention to detail, persistence, and genuine commitment to the success of our platform. Tudor, Georgiana, and Miruna went far beyond simply identifying bugs. They investigated issues thoroughly, spotted problems I would never have noticed myself, and continuously followed up with our developers to ensure that fixes were properly implemented and tested.

If I had to suggest one area for improvement, it would be providing earlier visibility into the time and resources required when testing turns out to be more extensive than initially anticipated. That said, the team handled the challenges with great professionalism, remained committed to the agreed scope, and consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication. I would absolutely work with them again and highly recommend their services.

BetterQA supported us with a structured QA and process assessment initiative focused on improving the reliability and consistency of our operational workflows. Their involvement covered application-level testing activities, validation of key business processes, and advisory support aimed at identifying gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Key deliverables included clearly defined testing and validation scenarios, structured feedback on process weaknesses, and practical recommendations to reduce rework and improve overall operational consistency. The engagement was collaborative and tailored to our scale, with a strong emphasis on aligning QA practices to real business needs rather than implementing heavy tooling or complex IT solutions.

What was your primary form of communication with BetterQA?

Virtual Meeting

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was BetterQA’s ability to combine strong QA expertise with a genuine understanding of business context. Instead of applying generic frameworks, they took the time to understand how our processes actually work and tailored their approach accordingly. This made their recommendations practical, relevant, and easy to apply within a small organization.

Are there any areas for improvement or something BetterQA could have done differently?

Given the scope and scale of the engagement, there were no major areas for improvement. In some cases, the level of detail in the analysis required additional time from our side to fully absorb and apply the recommendations. However, this also reflected the thoroughness of their work and ultimately contributed to better long-term outcomes.

1. Test Planning & Strategy Conduct requirement analysis to identify functional and non-functional testing needs. Define test objectives, success metrics, and acceptance criteria. Develop a comprehensive QA strategy, covering manual, automated, performance, and security testing. Align testing approach with your release cycles (Agile/Scrum or Waterfall). 2. Test Case Design & Automation Create detailed, traceable test cases based on business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications. Develop automated test scripts for repetitive tasks (regression, smoke, API testing) to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors. Maintain a living test suite updated as features evolve.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

1. Defect Detection & Resolution % of defects caught pre-release vs. post-release (e.g., 90% of critical issues identified before going live). Defect density reduction: Fewer bugs per 1,000 lines of code or per feature. Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR): Faster turnaround from defect logging to fix confirmation. 2. Product Reliability Crash-free sessions: Percentage increase in sessions without errors/crashes (tracked via monitoring tools). Reduction in production incidents: Fewer Sev1/Sev2 escalations after deployment. Improved uptime: Measured via SLA/monitoring (e.g., 99.9% availability). 3. User Experience & Trust Decrease in user-reported bugs: Fewer support tickets and complaints after release. Increased customer satisfaction (CSAT/NPS): Higher ratings in surveys or app store reviews. Accessibility compliance achieved (e.g., WCAG 2.1 AA conformance)

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

1. Integration with Client Workflow They embed themselves into the client’s Agile/Scrum or hybrid workflow. QA engineers participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring alignment with development priorities. They use industry-standard tools like Jira, TestRail, Azure DevOps, and Confluence for transparent tracking and documentation. 2. Delivery Discipline On-time delivery of test cases, reports, and defect triage was a consistent client highlight. Test execution cycles (smoke, regression, performance) were delivered in line with sprint/release schedules. Clients reported that BetterQA often helped accelerate releases by catching issues early, reducing last-minute blockers. 3. Communication & Responsiveness Highly responsive to changing requirements — they adapted testing scope quickly when features evolved mid-sprint. Provided clear, actionable defect reports (with screenshots, logs, video evidence) so developers could resolve issues faster. Maintained open communication channels (Slack, Teams, email) and were praised for fast turnaround on urgent issues. 4. Flexibility & Scalability Able to scale the QA team up or down depending on release intensity. Supported both long-term product QA and short-term, high-pressure release cycles.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

}Pure QA Focus (No Development Conflicts) Unlike many outsourcing firms that mix dev + QA, BetterQA is 100% dedicated to software testing. This guarantees unbiased, objective results — they aren’t “grading their own homework.” 2. Deep, End-to-End Testing Expertise They cover all layers of QA: functional, usability, accessibility, performance, security, API, mobile, IoT, and more. Clients appreciated how they could handle both manual and automated testing at a high level, reducing the need for multiple vendors. 3. Proactive & Consultative Approach Not just “task takers.” They actively suggest process improvements, flag risks early, and improve QA pipelines. Many reviews highlight how they introduced new tools, frameworks, and automation strategies that improved efficiency beyond expectations. 4. Communication & Responsiveness Extremely responsive and transparent in communication (Slack, Jira, daily standups). Clients emphasized how quickly they adapted when requirements changed mid-project. 5. Strong Integration with Client Teams They don’t work in isolation — instead, they embed into Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming). This made them feel like a true extension of the client’s in-house team. 6. High ROI from QA Investment Faster regression cycles through automation (cut from days → hours). Major reductions in defect leakage into production. Improved release confidence = smoother launches with fewer customer issues.

Are there any areas for improvement or something BetterQA could have done differently?

While they integrate seamlessly with teams, ramping up larger QA teams on short notice can sometimes be a bottleneck.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

They maintained absolute reliability in delivering items on time, every time. There were no missed deadlines or delays attributed to their work, which was crucial for our tightly scheduled launch.

Their responsiveness to our needs was equally impressive. They integrated seamlessly with our internal team and communication tools (Slack, Jira), providing real-time updates and addressing any questions or concerns immediately.

When our requirements evolved slightly or new edge cases emerged, they were highly flexible and proactive, adapting their testing strategy without hesitation.

They didn't just respond; they anticipated, often identifying potential issues or offering valuable suggestions before we even thought to ask.

It felt like a we were the same team working in unison for years.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The entire experience was flawless, frictionless, and cheaper than expected. We thought this is a high-end and extremely expensive service.

Are there any areas for improvement or something BetterQA could have done differently?

Honestly, it's challenging to pinpoint significant areas for improvement given their consistently high performance and professionalism.

If I were to suggest one minor enhancement, it would be around the initial client onboarding process for technical access. While their team was incredibly helpful and guided us through it, a slightly more streamlined or automated checklist for setting up access to various staging environments and specific tools (like our Jira instance, specific test accounts, etc.) could potentially shave off a few hours at the very start of the engagement.

However, it's important to stress that this was a very minor point. Their proactive communication ensured any access issues were resolved within a few hours, and it did not impact our project timeline or the quality of their work in any way.

Are there any areas for improvement or something BetterQA could have done differently?

None that I can think.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a consulting software house. We operate from Nairobi, Kenya. Our focus is helping startups and small businesses build technology and solutions around communication and people. We have ten consultants.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with BetterQA?

We had a couple of projects where we needed help building technologies. In particular, we were tasked to create a solution that could act as a project or task management platform to run processes more efficiently.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, BetterQA came up with an initial description, and we helped them refine it and create a specification document. Then, we went to phase two and did some screen layouts looking at existing systems. We laid out most of the screen flows of the end functionality and some possible alternatives to see where they could be integrated.

The next phase was building the rudimentary coding shell with some core functionalities. Afterward, BetterQA developed the code. The last level concerns the connectivities and APIs, which is where we are right now. The next stages will be introducing AI functionality and looking at data sets.

We’re close to completing our first project. Additionally, we’re beginning another 2–3.

What is the team composition?

We interact on a weekly basis with Camelia (Marketing Analyst) and Tudor (Managing Director). The team is consistently between 4–5 testers who test across different areas and generally give us feedback.

How did you come to work with BetterQA?

BetterQA curated a search for developers, and I responded to one of their requests. We first interacted through that, then worked on ideas and synergized together.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between €4,000–€5,000 (approximately $4,300–$5,400 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2023, and our partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve started talking to potential partners that could help us with reselling and potential customers. We’ve done about four demos and talked to one partner. We’ll talk to another 2–3 partners next week. We’re in early discussions, so the main thing that happens at this stage is that the partners ask a few questions on how they could customize the product for their use.

However, we’re still in the development phase, so we still need to go through heavy testing and start looking at what other functionalities we can build.

How did BetterQA perform from a project management standpoint?

BetterQA looks at the processes to make everything more efficient and provide a clear window for the development team and end client. We can see what’s been tested, where it has failed, and what’s being worked on.

Moreover, there’s a lot of documentation within their structure. The communication is quite clear; they meet deadlines and work within budget. Although they’re based in Romania, we’ve been able to find a way for us to work across an expanded market.

Telegram is the most common communication channel; it provides an easy, short, and quick way to talk. We also have a Slack channel that combines the entire team, which allows easy tracking of whatever’s happening. Additionally, we use Trello to track what’s done every day and weekly calls through Google Meet for convenience purposes.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Marco (Software Tester) and another teammate have been quite helpful in testing and giving us guidelines for what we need.

Amalia has a strong background in structuring applications. She’s also a key team member when we start a project and scope it out.

Tudor has been a father figure throughout the project because he’s helped us get the project running. Even when we come through a hiccup, he’s pivotal enough to solve it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What impresses me the most about BetterQA is their human side. Most of the testing team can work as one even when problems come up. Even if some problems aren’t technical, they come to us and ask how we can solve them. Overall, BetterQA has built our trust and respect; we know they have our back, and we have theirs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

With most new projects, we can’t scope everything when we start, so we’re bound to keep making small additions. An improvement area would be figuring out what is needed since the beginning of the process.

However, I know that might be hard because, in most cases, we can only see some sections after some things have been built.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very open and explain what you need them to test. Also, give them access to the necessary technology to place it within the environments they need or connect it to the APIs they need to test.
