I'm a department director of Halifax Community College, a two-year public community college in northeast North Carolina.

What challenge were you trying to address with BECK?

We needed support with our rebranding and website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

BECK oversaw our rebranding and new website as part of that rebrand, which was in conjunction with another service provider. We had an initial meeting with the department leaders who were going to work on the project and the team at BECK. They reviewed examples of websites they had done, and we shared examples of websites we wanted to have a similar feel. After that, we started the data collection phase, where departments put together their information, which was all posted into a shared Google Drive.

BECK was responsible for the site’s technical aspects, including performance, hosting, and capacity. The new website was redesigned from our previous one and built from scratch using WordPress and Elementor. We put together a list of other college websites that we thought had a good organizational flow, and we used that as a basis for them to get an idea of what we were looking for.

The team discussed some accessibility compliance guidelines from the system office and installed and configured plugins on our website to assist with accessibility so that we were compliant with those regulations.

We worked with three people: Jordan, the COO, Taylor, and Gina, the director of operations.

When I came in, BECK was already selected as the vendor we were working with.

We spent $8,690.62 on the project and $2,190 for post-launch edits.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September 2023 to August 2024.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We launched the website on August 14, 2024. We saw an increase in lead generation. We have an active form where people can request more information, and we forward those emails to the admissions department. The feedback was extremely positive. Most of it is that they loved how bright and colorful the website is, how it looked modern, and how it was a fresh upgrade for the college.

How did BECK perform from a project management standpoint?

They met deadlines and stayed on budget. We mainly used Google Workspace to keep everything organized. We communicated mainly through email and the occasional Zoom meeting.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with their creativity and ability to think outside the box. They put together something we were satisfied with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When we started the project, it would’ve been helpful for them to take more of a lead role in what we needed to do to get started.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communicate often and clearly. That’s what kept the project moving on schedule.

MPF has acquired our sister company, Blue Ridge Optics. Throughout this addition, Beck has consistently matched or closely mirrored our original goals, between both companies, with exceptional precision.

What stands out most about Beck is their exceptional customer service. They go above and beyond to make us feel supported, valued, and prioritized at every step. Even while providing the best service we could ask for, they remain attentive, responsive, and genuinely invested in our success.

My honest answer is no. They are caring, available, and provide exceptional work.

I am the former director of digital and social media at Mission Health.

What challenge were you trying to address with BECK?

We needed a partner to help us design and develop our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

BECK helped us design and build a website from scratch. We went through a whole process, including key audience interviews and data-driven approaches with Google Analytics and the existing website.

In fact, BECK worked with us to design and test our consumer site and several of our extranets. At the time, we had six-plus hospitals that were coming into one larger consumer site. The team worked in WordPress and a proprietary CMS. They also worked for a time on a Shopify-based site.

What is the team composition?

We worked with up to 10 individuals from BECK, including two managing partners, an account executive, developers, a creative director, and a designer.

How did you come to work with BECK?

When I worked at another company, I engaged BECK several times. They came through a recommendation. We went through an RFP process and looked at a current vendor and one other vendor, then landed on BECK. They were local and also had an excellent reputation.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2014–January 2015.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to BECK's work, our bounce rate decreased, our rankings and search engine metrics increased, and our number of users, time on site, and, ultimately, our usability scores also soared.

How did BECK perform from a project management standpoint?

They met deadlines and stayed on budget. We communicated using WebEx, Google Meet, phone calls, in-person meetings, and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Healthcare is complex, but BECK was flexible enough to continue to meet our needs and change their business model to meet those needs better.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We were perhaps one of their first healthcare clients, so there was a lot of learning, but they learned incredibly quickly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear on what your expectations are, what your budget is, and what you hope to achieve. Don’t let them develop the strategy; build the strategy together. BECK will succeed most when you allow them to be part of finding the solution early on.

We needed help with marketing, PPC advertising, and website development to increase our brand awareness.

What was the scope of their involvement?

BECK provides us with digital and social media marketing (SMM) services. They run our campaigns on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. The team has also developed our WordPress website. We started with a discovery phase where we outlined our goals and plan for the year.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with them for several years, so we’ve seen several different people over the course of the engagement. We currently work with three main people, including Jordan and Tim.

How did you come to work with BECK?

We found them through a referral. We chose them because they had a friendly and responsive staff that really listened.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend $1,500 a month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

We’ve seen an increase in brand engagement and website traffic. BECK’s work has met our expectations.

They deliver the work on time and within budget. We communicate via email and text and have monthly meetings.

BECK has great communicators, and they’re great with a short turnaround time. Moreover, BECK is open to communication and looking outside the box when it comes to digital marketing.

There’s nothing they need to improve that I can come up with at this point.
