Our P5G+AMR technology is complicated to demonstrate at a factory site. So we need Barker Product’s expertise and experience in industrial scenario and creativity to help us overcome the challenges.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I have worked with Barker Production for a few project and fully trust the quality delivered.

We started with script and scenario setting discussion, and then a few site surveys and more discussion. The shooting and postproduction were quite smooth and professionally delivered.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with an account manager and the director himself directly. They both gave us very constructive and useful suggestions.

The video was so impressive that even our partners are asking us to introduce the production company to them.

The cost maybe a little higher but worth every penny.

I’m a brand manager at Aurai Eye Care, a Taiwan-based eye care technology provider.

What challenge were you trying to address with Barker Production?

We needed their help in advertising our new product through an animated commercial.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Barker Production’s team shot an animated commercial that promoted one of our new products. They were involved in the entire production process, spearheading the planning, budgeting, casting, and location hunting stages. Upon the completion of the mentioned phases, Barker Production went ahead with shooting the commercial. They then proceeded with the post-production stages, applying animations, sound effects, and voice-overs.

What is the team composition?

We worked with David (Executive Producer & Director) and his production crew comprised of 13 members.

How did you come to work with Barker Production?

Barker Production was referred to us by an acquaintance who worked with their team in the past. We liked their previous works and were impressed with the team’s brand image,  so we decided to meet up with them and kick off our engagement.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our project ran from May–August 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Barker Production’s craft helped our company attract a lot of customers and secure crowdfunding. The video they produced delivered our message and promoted our product well, allowing us to acquire nearly $900,000. These marketable results were our key success metrics for Barker Production’s performance.

How did Barker Production perform from a project management standpoint?

We had our own system and project management approach that Barket Production’s team complied with. Their team was very good at aligning with our schedules, and they made sure that all deliverables were sent to us on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Barker Production’s communication skills definitely stood out to us. They were an easy-going team that delivered all our needs professionally, with little input on our end. Additionally, they were always prepared with on-point solutions and valid options whenever the situation called for one.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could make their schedules more flexible, but I understand that their availability always depends on several factors. Overall, we were happy with what Barker Production delivered.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a clear understanding of your goals, and always be prepared to present more options or alternatives for Barker Production’s team to explore.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Pan German Motors, Ltd. is the official importer of BMW Taiwan. I’m a digital marketer for the BMW brand.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Barker Production?

Most of our marketing campaigns are global, but we sometimes promote local models, which requires us to do video production in Taiwan. We hired Barker Production to create product highlight videos for branding and special sales campaigns.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I’ve worked with them on three videos; each video is about 30–120 seconds in length, and each production took 1–2 days to shoot. They handle shooting and postproduction, and they help us make scripts and storyboards.

They were mainly shot in stores, although I know that they also do outdoor productions. Some of the videos use actors, while some are just product highlight videos. Barker Production has used animations in some of the videos.

We post the videos on Facebook and other channels. We have another agency for social media management.

What is the team composition?

I’ve mainly worked with David (Executive Producer & Director), but they have a crew of about 20 people.

How did you come to work with Barker Production?

Barker Production was initially recommended to my company. They work with global production agencies on big event launches, and they have the skills to create stories on their own. They’re also cost-efficient.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent more than 5 million Taiwanese dollars (approximately $160,000 in total).

What is the status of this engagement?

My company has been working with Barker Production for more than five years, but I’ve been here for just two years. I started working with them in October 2019.

We go to them when we have the need to, but our collaboration was halted during the pandemic. We’re hoping to resume video production soon.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our first collaboration went smoothly, so I worked with them multiple times. They knew what I wanted from the first moment we met and they gave me a lot of ideas.

David proposed ways of making the video even better in postproduction, using animation. He actually spent his own money to create a demo for us. It was really good, so my company approved the additional investment, which was around 20% of the budget. It made the video become even more attractive.

The video had a good engagement rate and view count on YouTube, so we doubled our investment to make the commercial even longer.

How did Barker Production perform from a project management standpoint?

David is my only connection, and he manages our budget and schedule. He always lets us know if something comes up. We work well together so I never have to worry.

We communicate through Line, which is a chatting app in Taiwan. The communication is not that formal, and they respond quickly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

David has good taste. We’re a luxury brand, so we needed a partner that knew art, fashion, and music. David not only has the skills to shoot a film, but he has the art sense to give us the things we need after the shoot. Compared to other local companies, they stand out for their artistic sense and expertise.

I have to propose the idea internally before we actually execute the film. David helps us find references and themes for what we want to present. He helps us figure out what we want before the execution starts. He inputs a lot of ideas to push the video further.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There isn’t anything they need to improve.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Before connecting with Barker Production, outline your marketing objectives. It’s better to have a clear strategy so the director or filmmaker can use their skills to meet your goals.
