QL2's marketing efforts that have been mostly unsuccessful. A competitive analysis demonstrates that previous efforts have been focused on a quantity approach to SEO, not a quality approach. Dragonfly has utilized the best platforms and methods to deliver the greatest ROI and highest quality traffic. The methodology included SEO, Paid Advertising, Social Media and content development.

• QL2's organic search traffic has grown over 300%. Our lead generation is at an all time high. And the conversion quality of those leads are at an all time high.

I am the marketing director for a commercial lighting distributor. We provide premier lighting solutions to commercial and residential property management companies, hospitality, government, educational, and health care organizations.

One of our company initiatives was to expand our presence online to attract new customers and engage with current customers. We enlisted Dragonfly to help with SEO, website content and blog posts, and ultimately increase the number of quality leads and customer engagement.

We researched marketing agencies that had a portfolio of B2B clients with a focus on digital marketing. After interviewing several companies, we chose Dragonfly because their portfolio of business was similar to our company. The CEO, Geoff, was hands on, very responsive, and took the time to learn about Bay Lighting and our goals. They were a nice match for a company of our size.

Our scope of work included:

• Discovery - Learning about Bay Lighting and our competitors. Researching the industry to find opportunities for impact based on our goals.
• Collaboration - Dragonfly shared findings, collaborated with us, and determined plan.
• Execution - Dragonfly set-up PPC advertising campaign, added new website content, managed SEO. Other tools used were call rail, hotjar, Google analytics
• Key Deliverables - we receive monthly reports from Google Analytics, inquiry tracking with Call Rail and web forms

We work with two key employees - the CEO and an account executive. We also work with a web designer, as needed.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our website continually has new content, especially through our blog posts, which is beneficial for many reasons. We get double the amount of leads now than before but the main difference is the quality of our leads have increased.

The work flow worked well. We have an ongoing relationship and communication and keeping us on task based on our month's goals has been great.

The owner is involved and dedicated to our success. Our company is unique and the ideal lead doesn't just land in your lap. Geoff and his team came up with ideas to help us by thinking outside the box.

I am a managing partner for a web development services company, my focus is specifically Strategy and consulting services.

While we build websites and do all of the technical work, we do not offer SEO services. We started needing SEO for our own company and website, which Dragonfly did, and then we needed SEO solutions for our clients, as well.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

After working with a number of unsuccessful partners, we met Dragonfly through a friend, and they began managing our SEO: It went great; our organic rankings grew, traffic and leads to our site grew, and we saw a measured improvement across the board for all of our SERP, domain equity and other metrics.

Since then Dragonfly has facilitated our SEO work, both for our own site, but also for our clients, as well. The engagements include planning, discovery/research, staging content and then implementation.

The Dragonfly team really takes care of all of the details, allowing our team to be hands-off. This was also true when we partnered with Dragonfly on client projects, as well. With their track record of success on our behalf, we now use Dragonfly (and recommend them) exclusively, anytime we need SEO strategy, implementation, or social media work, as well.

Since we engaged with Dragonfly we have been consistently on first page search results for our industry and selected keywords; the strategy reports and analytics reports were highly valued by our team and our clients, being used to inform marketing planning and decision making. Whenever we use Dragonfly with our clients, our clients have been thrilled with the outcome, the responsiveness and the attention to detail of the entire Dragonfly team.

Depending on the type and scope of the project the Dragonfly team can either be very hands-on and communicative, participating in weekly and monthly status regroups; or they can also work independently, addressing the expected work autonomously and not requiring micromanagement. Geoff and the team are very proactive, but respectful of our time; they were also very happy to accommodate the way we work, so as to ensure that communications were efficient.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

In the ever changing world of the web the Dragonfly team stay on top of the constantly evolving landscape; they understand the search algorithms, they know the best practices, and they bring that understanding and insight to every project. Their team are mature and proactive, addressing issues and opportunities equally.

Not that I can think of: its why we have been working with them for so long! They are responsive and adaptive to our needs.

I am the director of Hollenshades Auto Services, a family-run independent auto services facility. It’s a small business, so I do my share of everything. We’re very large for an independent auto-repair facility, but we’re not an auto-dealer nor are we a body-shop.

What challenge were you trying to address with Dragonfly Digital Marketing?

We were early adopters to the internet, and 12 years ago we started with a template website from a private individual, where we had no control over the artistic design and limited control over content.

We watched our performance with our site decline over time, so we knew that change was warranted. Wanting more control over our brand, we brought our web-design in-house. We hired Geoffrey (CEO, Dragonfly Digital Marketing) to help ease the issues with that transition.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Geoffrey didn’t actually build our website, someone else did. We had a lot of SEO risk transitioning sites, as we had thousands of links. Geoffrey helped us with the SEO transition. He continues to manage our SEO services, and he does do some work for our social media.

We don’t have a contract with him to do our social media, but he helps because it interacts with his SEO activities. He’s willing to answer any question, and if he can’t figure out the answer, he’ll find someone who can.

I also gave him access to most of our accounts—an indication of my trust—and he had close to unfettered access as he improved our digital marketing.

How did you come to work with Dragonfly Digital Marketing?

We searched for a company that didn’t have that "murky-internet" feel. We met a lot of different people who tried to take over all our accounts or they wouldn’t work with us.

It’s uncomfortable to give those credentials over to someone from the dubious world of the internet, but Geoffrey’s very different. If I passed him my information, I trusted him, and he earned it. If I didn’t want to pass them over, he found a way to make it work around that. He’s full of integrity and different from most.

We spend roughly $12,000 annually.

We started working in June 2018, and we still work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I directly give him credit for most of our progress in digital marketing. It’s significantly better—we’ve tripled the business being brought in. 

It takes time after a website transition to get your numbers back up. Despite this, we were back to where we were pre-transition in 3–5 months, and we’ve continued to grow since. It’s a very methodical process that Geoffrey operates under—he understands the steps to get where we want. He doesn’t overpromise, and he’s different in a good way.

How did Dragonfly Digital Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

We mostly communicate over email and have probably talked over the phone 5–10 times over the past two years. He’s highly responsive. No matter what time I email him I always receive a response in less than three hours.

A lot of vendors don’t like to work with others—they want to get all the possible revenue and box out everyone else. Geoffrey isn’t like that. When we hired someone else for website design because of their automotive experience, Geoffrey was happy to work with that person. His ability to collaborate really sets him apart.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Geoffrey will always find the answer to every question, going the extra mile to figure out a problem if he doesn’t already know the solution. His transparency, openness, and willingness to be available 24/7 continually impressed me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not at this time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I respect that Geoffrey has minimums. That never was an issue for us, but some smaller businesses might run into issues. His minimums are reasonable and competitive. He wants to provide quality work for everyone, and he needs a minimum amount to staff his fantastic team.

We’ve seen growth and increased traffic to our website. Over time, we’ve also experienced increased gross revenue. They’ve generated far more income than we’ve spent. The ROI is a factor of five or more depending on the year probably. We haven’t had one year of negative growth with Dragonfly Digital Marketing.
