For what projects/services did your company hire Axial Design Studio, and what were your goals?

I was working on optimizing some design aspects of my website for ADHD101 which was helped by Farhatabassaum K. She was very useful and timely in her help and she was very attentive to my needs. I found her very personable and caring to the needs of ADHD101. I would highly reccomend her because her skills are top tier and she seemed interested in giving me value.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Farhatabassaum K. was reciprocal to my proposal and she seemed very invested in helping ADHD101. I was very happy with her work and enjoyed her timliness in getting things done compared to my other vendors.

She worked on some graphics and edited some design aspects of ADHD101 with some icons that were out of place through volunteering which was generous of her.

She improved my social media page, wiki page and added a few design tabs that were out of place and did exactly what I wated

I loved her timeliness, due diligence, and care for the work I gave her.

No, Farhatabassaum Khan is a great asset to anyone looking for website design and looking to increase their marketing and sales. She is reliable and a very personable person.

I’m the managing director of Teylee Jewelry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Axial Design Studio?

We needed help to develop a complicated website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Axial designed and developed an interactive WordPress website for us. Users could custom design jewelry, which we would then create. I provided them with professional photographs, and they created gemstone designs using special rendering software. They integrated PayPal., Visa, and Mastercard for payment management.

Additionally, Axial ran our social media channels for about a year after the website was completed and did social media marketing (SMM) for me on Facebook and Instagram.

What is the team composition?

Farhatabassum (Founder) was my only contact point. Although she spoke about teammates who were completing certain tasks, I never dealt with them directly.

How did you come to work with Axial Design Studio?

Although I tried to look for a provider in our area, none of them seemed to know how to do this project, they were quoting really high prices, and I suspected they would go offshore for development anyway. I was doing business with someone in India who turned out to be Farhatabassum’s uncle. I told him about the trouble I was having finding someone to build my site, and he put me in contact with her. We clicked straight away; Axial understood what I needed and didn’t see it as a complicated problem, unlike some providers I’d consulted. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2018–March 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Axial got the website up and running exactly as I wanted it to. They gave me a very professional website on a very small budget. The site was so amazing that it didn’t look like it was for a small business; it looked like a site for a huge jewelry brand, and it was more interactive than some of those sites. 

Unfortunately, I closed down the website because I was getting all my business from word of mouth and not from the site. I wanted to focus on the Australian market, and Axial’s SMM work got people overseas to find the site, which wasn’t what I was looking for. Ultimately, I was dealing with the same local clients, so I figured that’s what I should focus on. However, Axial was actively trying to attract interest in our site, so I don’t point at them as the reason I closed the site; it was my own business decision. 

How did Axial Design Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

They stuck to the budget, and it was based on that performance that I decided to engage them for social media management. Although the timeline extended a bit, it was my fault due to delays in getting photographs and materials to them since I hired professional photographers.

Communication was excellent; we messaged each other regularly through WhatsApp, and for significant aspects, we emailed. We used Dropbox to share large photo and video files. Although I’m sure they used project management tools, they knew I didn’t have IT expertise, so they kept those tools for internal use.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by Axial’s understanding of what I was trying to create. I wanted a jewelry design site that was more artist-centered, and they understood my vision and were able to turn it into something real. When I had spoken to other designers and developers, I could tell they didn’t really see what I was trying to do. Axial created a site even better than what I had envisioned.

Additionally, they were very inexpensive. With another provider, the site would have cost $150,000, and I probably wouldn’t have gotten as good a result anyway. Plus, they provided a quote that was within our budget.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have focused more on the Australian market with the SMM aspect of the project. I didn’t want to post things internationally, and I don’t know why all our social media engagement was coming from all over the world. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Although I wouldn’t recommend them for social media presence, I’d highly recommend Axial regarding web design to anyone looking to get a very professional-looking website.
