We’ve been working with Avalaunch Media for about five years on our SEO and content marketing. Initially, we had a discovery call during which we identified our needs. Then, they came back with a very sound proposal, so we decided to move forward with it.

Since then, Avalaunch Media has done research to identify areas of opportunity to either add content to our site or perform technical SEO updates to its backend to keep improving our SERP rankings. Their team is also in charge of writing content for us.

We found them through a referral website. Although I don’t remember its name, this website served to match companies with appropriate advertising partners based on their needs.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Avalaunch Media around January 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve seen a 95% year-over-year (YoY) increase in the total keywords that we’re ranking for. We’ve also seen a 200% YoY increase in our page-one ranking and a 39% YoY increase in referral domains.

As for the quality of Avalaunch Media’s work, everything has been very thorough, well-researched, and well-presented. Although the execution is a little erratic sometimes, we always get to the end result.

How did Avalaunch Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Avalaunch Media has delivered on time and within budget. As for communication, we have a biweekly standing meeting via Google Meet. For those meetings, our project manager provides us with an agenda ahead of time so that we know what will be discussed and the different topics we’ll go through. In between those calls, we also go back and forth via email.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I would like to give a shout-out to Mike and Christian. They’re always very quick to help us and come up with solutions to problems we may not have known existed. They’re also very good at coming up with ideas to share with us, so we don’t always have to identify issues and have them come up with solutions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Avalaunch Media’s reputation in SEO management, understanding of our business, and billing structure distinguish them from other service providers. In addition to that, their foundational research is impressive. Whenever they present a new plan or strategy, it’s always very thorough and thought through.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’ve already had conversations with Avalaunch Media about improving their execution over the years. Other than that, I can’t think of something Avalaunch Media could improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very specific about what you want to achieve. The more specific you can be, the more Avalaunch Media will be able to help you out. Additionally, identify KPIs so that you can track and measure their performance.

We onboarded with Avalaunch as our agency intitially focussing on just PPC. We were looking for increased growth within our US market and felt that we needed a US-based agency to achieve this. We weren't seeing great growth from our UK-based agency so it was worth a shot. Moving was a swift transition with no downtime at all and almost instant increases in performance. 

We had strong KPIs in place but these were hit, and we continue to see strong YoY growth to this day. We have added SEO as well which is equally as impressive with the quality of content and ranking positions that we hold.

Our impressions have skyrocketed, our click-through rates have been awesome, and things have been going up tremendously on virtually every SEO metric.

They rank highly in project management, meeting deadlines, and staying on budget. We use Google Sheets to keep track of what we’re working on, and we use email, text, and Google Meet for communication.

The team from Avalaunch Media is incredibly approachable and easy to work with. They’re good people, and we genuinely enjoy working with them. They have a broad set of services that they provide, which is something that we appreciate about them.

We haven’t always been thrilled with the design work they’ve done for us, so we think they could improve upon that. There have been times that we’ve had to go back and do it ourselves because we were unhappy with what they gave us.  

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They need guidance to be effective, and if you’re not able to give them enough of your time it makes it tough, but that’s good advice for working with any company. Our bandwidth somewhat limits them, so they do need attention.

Choose Mental Health is a rebrand initiative that needed focus and a lot of expertise. The project is divided into several parts and all are focused on the idea that the projects is an orchestra of social media launching, industry awareness articles and an outreach to parents of children, teens and youth who struggle with mental health needs. It all comes together because Avalaunch is the conductor of the orchestra and moving all individual melodies to deliver one beautiful performance, if you will.

How did you select this vendor?

Finding the fit for our small company was not easy. Everyone has strengths. The process took a couple months and many interviews. What impressed me the most is I spoke to an owner in my first meeting and was then introduced to the team. The personal touch and willingness to speak with me was a big signal that Avalaunch was small enough to see me and large enough to get things done. We meet regularly with our account manager and paid strategist. We also meet quarterly for a quarterly business report where our account strategist also sits in.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After the initial setup of our campaign and paid search channels, we spent time refining our reporting and cost baseline. Since then we have seen regular and steady gains in the ROI on our campaigns and marketing efforts.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow has been good! Both sides do a great job of completing their tasks to keep projects running. We just need to keep things moving forward and be careful to not fall into a routine. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They have a really fun vibe and are great to work with. It feels like we have a small agency with enterprise-level contacts and resources. It makes working together a lot more fun.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There are always ways to improve and some things are more feasible than others. One small point of friction would be turnaround times on certain items. Avalaunch has many designers, but there is still often a queue in turnaround times of about 2 weeks. You just need to plan to have your creative all completed well in advance of your campaigns, or it might put you in a pinch. This can be tough in marketing when we sometimes have to change plans on short notice.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Avalaunch has helped us do a lot of background market research through a couple of focus groups and an attitudinal market survey. They’re helping us create marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, and other print materials. They’re also doing design work for the new website we’re developing. Finally, they’re working on our marketing strategy.

What is the team composition?

We work with 5–10 people, including the VP of strategy, a project manager, a marketing manager, several designers, and copywriters. I’ve also worked with the CEO.

How did you come to work with Avalaunch Media?

We did some research on companies that could help us with this project, and Avalaunch was one of the top recommended companies that we saw online. We reached out and interviewed them, along with about 15 other marketing companies. We eventually settled on Avalaunch.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together began in May 2020, and we’re currently still working on some aspects of the project. We’ve also finished some aspects of the program last month and this month.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of their work has been very high. Their design work is really good and one of the things we’ve been most impressed with. Their copywriting is also pretty good. I think the biggest value piece we’ve seen has come from the marketing strategy. That team has helped us identify and execute our brand awareness push and drive sales through digital means.

How did Avalaunch Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been great at managing deadlines. There have only been 1–2 things that have gone a little long, and they promptly updated us beforehand so that we knew what to expect. Also, things that had to be pushed back were my team’s fault, or they had some legitimate reason. Almost everything is done on time. 

We communicate through phone, email, and sometimes text. They use Ravetree for project management, which allows us to see the project as they’re coming along. They can also ping us if they need us on anything. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is a major project for us in helping to increase our brand awareness and market penetration. We’ve really enjoyed Avalaunch’s work as a digital marketing guide. They did a great job on the analytical side of things, as well as developing the marketing collateral, split testing it, and getting it out there.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think most of the problems we’ve seen have been mainly due to COVID. We had one design piece come back that was pretty off the mark, but we had a conversation with them. They didn’t charge us for the work, immediately got it to another designer, and then it was executed pretty well. For everything that hasn’t been perfect, they’ve gone out of their way to make it right.

Any advice for potential customers?

The more descriptive that you can be in terms of what you’re looking to get out of them, the better they’ll be able to execute that for you and make sure they’re driving the results you want.
