BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the chief development officer and chief fundraising officer for St. Vincent Home for Children. We provide mental health services to children aged 6–19 years old. Additionally, we have a shelter program, a transitional living program, and an aftercare program for kids at home and at school.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with ATB Technologies?

Our technology was outdated, so we needed their help in requesting a grant to help us upgrade the technology.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

ATB Technologies is our annual IT service provider. They create a yearly report card that details the state of our hardware. One of the report cards showed that our computers, programs, and network equipment are very aged, so we used this to write a request for a grant to improve the technology at our organization. They analyzed the report, identified the steps we could take to upgrade our technological infrastructure, and made recommendations. I had them price everything, and I asked for some additional information to make the grant more convincing. 

Once we were awarded the grant, ATB Technologies then conducted all of our technological upgrades. The team took care of the entire process from beginning to end. They set up the wiring, computers, and internet to upgrade our systems for the kids and our executive team. They continue to service everything that they’ve installed.

What is the team composition?

I work primarily with Christopher (VP of Sales & Marketing). During the upgrade, I also worked with another teammate.

How much have you invested with them?

The grant we received was $93,000. The team does our annual work-up and report pro bono, while the upgrades and maintenance are paid for through the grant. We haven’t paid for anything ourselves.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2020, and it’s an ongoing partnership.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We were able to get everything we needed, thanks to ATB Technologies. It was through their assistance that we were able to receive a grant to upgrade our infrastructures. As a result, our computer systems are brand new, and we now have a computer lab for the kids. There’s also WiFi connectivity available throughout our building, which was non-existent before this project. We’re all 100% satisfied with the work they’ve done and continue to do for us.

How did ATB Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management is excellent. All the information we need is on a spreadsheet, along with a timeline. The team is knowledgeable and easy to work with — they did everything to get the job done. ATB Technologies is a team of rock stars; they’re very professional and competent. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We love that they’re a one-stop source for any of our technological needs. The team worked closely with us to acquire everything we needed at a great price, and they got the job done. They’re also swift to assist us when anything goes wrong. Whether it’s something wrong with the computer or the network, we call them, and they fix whatever we need at no cost. The team has just been unbelievably outstanding.

There’s nothing they could do better.
