I am the director of business development at the global contract research organization.

What challenge were you trying to address with ArticMedia?

We asked ArticMedia to rebuild and redesign our corporate website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

ArticMedia built our WordPress website from scratch. We went through several rounds of research before prototyping. Once we finalized the design for the mobile and desktop versions of the site, we moved into programming and launching the integrations. I don’t know the exact names of the integrations we used, but we did select one for a map to show our global presence and coverage. We also integrated our CRM software, analytics, and other general features.

Most of the graphics were created by the ArticMedia team, but we divided the work equally when it came to the written content. Fifty percent of it was provided by their copywriter, and the rest was written and reviewed by our business development representative.

ArticMedia specializes in web development so their main focus was on the creation of the website. They did do some SEO, but only on a very high level. Our internal team is currently following through on that, and we will soon be involving an advertising agency to oversee the SEO for us.

What is the team composition?

I don’t have the exact headcount of how many people worked on the project since we wanted to only have one point of contact from their end. In our case, we had a project manager who was also the CEO of ArticMedia. All communications went through him, and he distributed tasks amongst his team. We were also in touch with his associate and designer once or twice.

How did you come to work with ArticMedia?

We had purchased several CRM licenses from ArticMedia in the past, so we already knew them prior to this project. They actually got in touch with us several times to discuss the redesign and relaunch of our website, but we weren’t ready then and had to postpone.

We finally decided to rebuild our website last year, when our company celebrated its 20th anniversary. We reached out to ArticMedia, but we still looked into several other agencies from different countries. Ultimately, we decided to try their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project officially started in April 2021 and was completed in December 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We now have more information available for our online visitors, and it is structured and designed better than it was on our old website. We have yet to look into the lead generation and conversion rates since our focus right now is on the rising our brand awareness. That being said, we received positive feedback from our team as well as from potential clients, which is crucial since we conduct long-term business with pharma companies worldwide.

How did ArticMedia perform from a project management standpoint?

ArticMedia put a lot of effort into building the right prototype and design for us, especially in the initial stages. We received many comments from key people on our end so they had to do some additional work. The cost was still within the budget that we had agreed on, and it was also still less expensive than if we had selected another US-based agency. It was worth it.

We had weekly calls with the project manager to discuss what was done, what was going to be done, and the key action items. We would then receive a document with the key outcomes. For prototyping and design, we used Figma, but for project management in general, we didn’t have any specific tools. Our communication was great and mostly done over email, Zoom, phone calls, and text messages. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are very client-oriented. As far as I know, they aren’t doing many projects in a row, and their team itself isn’t very big. This allows them to really dive into a particular project and give a lot of time and attention to the client. They tabled excellent ideas as well, which urged us to change our initial plans.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t remember any negative points. Everything could always be done faster, but overall, the timelines were met and everything was fine.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you want to build something unique from scratch and break away from anything templated, approach ArticMedia. They’re fully immersed in the process from the beginning of the research down to the guarantee period. Their team is made up of people with different backgrounds and specialties, so they’re able to provide a full-service web development solution.
