I am the founder of an AR app democratising digital fashion.

We needed help with building an Augmented Reality app from the ground up, with great UI and UX, allowing users to manipulate 3D assets all in real time AR.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online and it became clear ARLoopa had the most expertise and industry knowledge in the field of AR app development. The team from day one communicated incredibly efficiently and worked with us to iterate our vision.

We had constant communication during the MVP build, which made life easy. The scope included customising 3D assets in real time AR as well as then having the functionality of wearing these digital assets using body motion tracking.

A project manager was assigned, and both front end and back-end developers as well as quality assurance members were all assigned to our project. It was great :)

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within a short space of time, our app was in the hands of our users and we were delighted with the outcome. As we were doing something very new, the team also worked closely with us to help with further edits.

The project manager was the highlight. They were always clear on milestones, budgets, and timeframes. It was really excellent.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The mobile app skills in relation to AR were second to none. Really superb.

What challenge were you trying to address with ARLOOPA - Augmented and Virtual Reality?

We had an end client launching an AR campaign and hired ARLOOPA to host artwork and provide technical support.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

ARLOOPA is a free app on the App Store and Google Play Store. They have a user card, user base, and platform where we showcased the work of two artists. ARLOOPA created a page within their app that users could access. 

The app worked in two ways; the first allowed users to pick a specific location, go through menus, and activate the experience. When a user was at that particular location physically, they could point and scan the immediate surroundings of a specific building, and the artwork would load on the screen; the artwork was entered into a building or other surroundings. The other option allowed users to place the artwork on any surface around them. The key technology used in the project was Unity.

ARLOOPA also assisted with training. We connected our artists with the ARLOOPA team, and they exchanged asset files. ARLOOPA walked them through the steps of optimizing the platform. This included low-end quality count and ensuring compatibility.  ARLOOPA also helped build one of the artworks in the environment and upload it to the platform. 

ARLOOPA helped us with a landmark mapping exercise to create the landmark itself. They sent a team to the location to create a 3D mesh model for the artists to build the AR experience around it. ARLOOPA generated QR codes for the app and provided access to the consumer.  

ARLOOPA created the stop page where users could access background information on the campaign. They offered maintenance, and ARLOOPA tracked statistics while the campaign was launched. 

We also worked with ARLOOPA on a separate project that was a marker-based AR experience. The artwork would be scanned, and when users opened the ARLOOPA app, users could go in and see the artwork overlaid on top of physical objects. 

What is the team composition?

We primarily communicated with Arman (Co-Founder & CEO), senior developers, an account manager, and someone who handled finances. On the secondary project, there was another developer. 

How did you come to work with ARLOOPA - Augmented and Virtual Reality?

I believe we found them through a Google search. We looked at a few different companies, but ultimately chose them because they provided competitive quotes; we thought they would be the best fit for this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them between July–December 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Before the campaign closed, more than 10,000 AR experience activations were logged, which is a number we were happy with. 

How did ARLOOPA - Augmented and Virtual Reality perform from a project management standpoint?

ARLOOPA was highly responsive, and they addressed any client feedback in a timely manner. There were some delays, but ARLOOPA was able to accommodate us for the most part. We used email and instant messaging services to communicate. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were able to seamlessly collaborate with our artists and help bring their vision to life when one of them didn't use Unity as their go-to tool of art creation. Without their help, we wouldn’t have been able to showcase both of our artists at the time of the launch. All in all, we were quite satisfied with the whole experience. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The time difference was a bit of an issue, and some of our communications were slightly delayed.

Break things down in the early project planning phases because it’s helpful for everyone involved.

I'm the CEO of a tech company that applies image processing solutions to enable novel augmented reality experiences on mobile phones.

For what projects/services did your company hire ARLOOPA - Augmented and Virtual Reality, and what were your goals?

We wanted to create the first AR game based on a novel image processing technology we've developed. As we are heavily specialized in machine vision, sensors and algorithms, we didn't have the skills required for game development in-house.

Therefore, we hired ARLOOPA, with the goal of creating a demonstrator game with state-of-the-art graphics, UI/UX and backend support.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We attended trade shows where we met with and interviewed various software developer companies. We also searched online and asked around in our network. We had discussions with around 10 different vendors.

The deciding factors were:

1. Whether the company had a convincing portfolio in the AR space
2. Whether the company had the technical qualifications to work with native libraries that encompass our image processing technology.

They created a complete AR app, with UI/UX, a user account creation and log-in page, SciFi-inspired graphics, a game creation page with deep link-based invitation using a QR-code, a back-end server for rapid device communication between players and more.

They applied Unity to create the app, and were very capable in using the libraries we provided that encompassed our tech. The app was accepted for the Apple Testflight Beta testing.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The CEO was our main contact point throughout the project. There were four Unity developers active in the project and one designer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The app was approved for Beta testing on the Apple Testflight. We have exhibited the app on trade shows and it has been great for displaying the capabilities of our technology.

During exhibitions, we've had many visitors that really loved the game and felt it was genuinely novel.

During development, we had weekly calls to get updates on the latest developments.

The communication worked well and we felt we had a clear understanding of their development process. We also communicated over email and on a shared drive. They delivered on time, which we really appreciated.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive aspect is their versatility: they offer high-level Unity development of AR features, UI/UX design, back-end server, mobile resource management and low-level memory management.

They have all the skills in-house to realize complex, high-quality AR apps that look great.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not that I can think of.

I'm the CEO of Galaxy Arena Metaverse, and with our 36 person team we've developed the Galaxy Arena. Bridging the gap between virtual and reality by bringing events attractions and businesses into the metaverse. We are shifting the Web 2 crowd into Web 3. We boat 3 main sectors : The Galaxy Gym, the galaxy tower and the entertainment venue.

We chose this vendor based on their previous projects, clear communication, design skills and most importantly their attractive cost estimates.

The metaverse is the next step in the development of the internet and the hub of the Web 3.0 era. Galaxy Arena is poised to become a leading state of the art metaverse HUB that will seamlessly help transition the world of live events , attractions ,VR experiences and businesses forever by bridging the gap between virtual and reality and offer a simple Web 2.0 to 3.0 solution. We will be releasing our BETA mid December

We work with a total of 10 people from the vendor, from head of metaverse development, CEO, website developer and other game devs.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have grown our social media profiles massively over the past year, our metaverse has developed into something a lot more polished, clean and functional. Very soon, we will be launching and our user base will start to grow.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our workflow and communication with the ARLOOPA team have been effective and concise all the way through. Using weekly meetings and regular updates in our group chats, we have all stayed on top of our game and created the product that will blow peoples minds\

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They offered us high quality Unreal engine 5 development at great prices and good speeds.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Honestly, everything went smoothly and we can't complain.
