**The Review** — May 2, 2025

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to Apriorit's efforts, the client received and deployed their AI product, leading to improved summarization and content generation efficiency. The team communicated well, collaborated effectively, and delivered on time and within budget. Apriorit's availability and commitment were impressive.
""Apriorit's availability and commitment to making things work stood out.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I'm the CTO of a consulting firm. We have around 350 employees and different business lines, including business research, data analytics, content services, and graphic design. We offer these services to the public sector, companies, and consulting firms.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit? We needed help building an internal AI infrastructure to stay on top of the new things, add an extra layer of security, and customize technologies, libraries, and LLMs to meet our specific needs.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? With the rise of AI, we wanted to be on top of the trend. As a service company, we mainly offer business research services. Apriorit helped us develop and design our internal AI infrastructure. It was a web-based app and an internal chatbot in our cloud infrastructure. The team deployed the chatbot in our internal GCP infrastructure. Apriorit used several libraries, such as LangChain, to create and integrate the chatbot with LLMs and other AI technologies. They wrote the codebase using Python. We didn't provide any documentation or wireframes. When I joined the company, I created the internal product development team. As this took a lot of time, we started working with Apriorit to help us deliver the initial iteration. The team did the first iteration autonomously with our collaboration. What is the team composition? We mainly worked with three people: Olga, who managed our contract to close the deal, Vlad, who was our project manager, and Vadim, Apriorit's software architect and AI specialist. They were our principal contacts, but more people were working on the project. How did you come to work with Apriorit? We benchmarked 3–4 companies, including Apriorit. We took into consideration the price and time to market they offered. We had a meeting with them and looked for some reviews.Apriorit aligned with our budget and proposed tangible things. Their team came with a chatbot in a local environment that was more or less what we were looking for. Other companies offered big answers, but nothing tangible. For these reasons, we thought Apriorit best fit our needs. How much have you invested with them?We spent around $33,000.What is the status of this engagement? We worked together from April to August 2024.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? The quality of Apriorit's work was good. They delivered a working product and helped us deploy it in our infrastructure. Once we put the project live, it was working perfectly. When we started using it more, we discovered some things Apriorit could've done better, and we fixed them ourselves. Given their work time and the new technology, we didn't think it was a mistake. It was a project evolution.Although we were still trying to measure how impactful the chatbot could be, we put the chatbot in place, and our staff already used external tools like ChatGPT. We wanted to move them to our internal infrastructure for many reasons, such as security and monitoring. We were also improving the product. However, accessing this tool improved our summarization and content generation efficiency. How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?Apriorit delivered the project on time and within our budget. We had a closed budget from the beginning. We didn't use any project management tools, and our main communication was via email and regular meetings every 1–2 weeks. We had regular catch-ups about the functional and technical aspects of the project. Our team and Apriorit's technical team spent 2–4 hours ensuring everything worked and the deployment was good. We didn't think of any improvements in that sense and were happy with the quality of Apriorit's work, the collaboration, and the communication. What did you find most impressive about them?Apriorit's availability and commitment to making things work stood out. They worked with us and spent 2–4 hours meeting with our team until everything worked and showed results quickly.A few weeks after we engaged with them, we had a demo to see in the next few weeks. It wasn't working perfectly and still had some issues, but we could see something fast enough to give feedback and iterate. If we need to work again and have the budget, Apriorit will definitely be one of our first companies to go to.Are there any areas they could improve? We planned to do a second iteration with Apriorit, but it didn't work for many reasons. The scoping phase wasn't clear, and they had higher requests. We had a budget issue and were closing it.We could've done things differently for the follow-up project by reducing the scope and clarifying the requirements.Do you have any advice for potential customers? If you aim to deploy something in your infrastructure, don't wait until the end. The sooner you have the initial version in your infrastructure, the better. We worked on Apriorit's infrastructure, and when we moved, things got delayed. We had to have meetings and so on. The sooner you can have something in the final infrastructure and code repository, the better, to avoid blockers.

**The Review** — May 16, 2024

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to Aprioit, the client has been able to launch their product for Windows, which now represents the OS used by 90% of the customer base, contributing to massive business growth. The team has provided accurate estimates and worked quickly. Moreover, their resources are skilled and helpful.
""Everyone has a great skill level, and they've helped us a lot.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I'm an executive at IRIS Audio Technologies. We make audio-based technology. One of our algorithms is a noise cancellation/noise reduction software system. If a user is working in a place with a lot of background noise, such as a call center, they can use our software to remove all the noise in the background and leave their voice intact.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit? We were pushing our noise cancellation software for Mac computers, but we didn't have any Windows expertise within our team. Therefore, we were seeking a partner to help us with Windows driver development to launch our software for Windows as well.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Apriorit has worked with us on Windows development. Initially, we provided them with a full briefing document to kickstart the project. As for the technology stack, the team has used .NET, C#, and C++ to build the solution. What is the team composition? We’ve worked with 6–7 teammates from Apriorit, including Michael (Program Manager), Vitalii (Software Developer), and Anastasiia (Test Engineer). How did you come to work with Apriorit?I found them through a Google search. I was looking for a company with Windows experience and spoke to three of the ones I found. Out of those, I had the best feeling about working with Apriorit. How much have you invested with them? We've spent around $600,000–$700,000.What is the status of this engagement? We began working with them in October 2021, and the partnership is still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?Apriorit's solution has enabled us to unlock our solution for Windows — without them, we wouldn't have Windows products. Currently, around 90% of our customer base uses Windows-based computers. Without access to this product for Windows, we would have a much smaller market, so we owe a lot of our business to them. How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint? We don't really work on a project basis; our work is ongoing, and Apriorit has become a part of our team. We work on a sprint-planning basis, so we give them a piece of the work, they estimate it, and they then deliver. Their estimates are generally very good and very accurate. Moreover, their team works fast. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Apriorit's core team has been great. Michael has been handling our account, and he has been excellent. Vitalii is also fantastic; he's very responsive and highly skilled. Moreover, Anastasiia has been very good and a fantastic QA person. What did you find most impressive about them?Apriorit does a great job of finding the right resources to help us. Everyone has a great skill level, and they've helped us a lot. Therefore, our projects are running very well. Are there any areas they could improve? There's nothing Apriorit could improve on. If anything, it would always be great if they were cheaper.Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs? We started working with Apriorit in a slightly different way than we should. We weren't communicating as regularly as needed. When you don't communicate regularly with remote resources who, in addition to that, speak a different language, it's easy to make mistakes and have miscommunication issues. Therefore, communicate often with them and establish regular meetings to ensure everyone understands what you've said so that they can work on the project in the best way possible.

**The Review** — Apr 22, 2024

**Feedback Summary**: Apriorit delivered great work and exceeded the client’s expectations. The team’s proactive approach to highlighting issues and resolving them was impressive. This showcased their dedication to being an active partner to the client. Their teammates also offered useful guidance throughout the project.
"“They constantly helped us refine what we were asking for to make amazing products.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I was the former VP of product management at an IaaS company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?Apriorit provided us with software development and consulting services.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?I was involved in two projects with Apriorit. One was an external-facing software product, which was used to support the company’s software platform. When downloaded on a device, this product would run a hypervisor that gave users a virtual instance of macOS on their computer. The second project focused on a custom driver for macOS that would interact with a large-scale storage platform. What is the team composition? We worked with Nikita (Middle macOS & Linux Software Developer)  and a part-time project manager. When we had to do things quickly or needed a bit of assistance, Apriorit would bring in two additional software developers; they didn’t work full-time during the entire project, but we worked with them for a few months. There were also two test resources. In total, we collaborated with 2–5 teammates from Apriorit. How did you come to work with Apriorit? We found Apriorit through a web search. Specifically, we were looking for an organization with expertise in macOS development and kernel-level knowledge in software development. How much have you invested with them? The company spent around $300,000–$500,000. What is the status of this engagement? The company engaged them in February 2022. I left the company in August 2023, and the project was ongoing at that time. In total, I was involved in the engagement for around 18 months.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? Apriorit exceeded my expectations. Their work quality was great. In fact, most of the issues we had on the products were discovered by their team. We didn’t have to ask them to redo things since they highlighted the issues themselves and worked with us to resolve them. In other words, they didn’t just execute on what we asked them to do; instead, they were like an active partner to us. If we weren’t clear on our direction, they’d come back to us for clarity. If they felt that what we wanted wasn’t the best for the customers or the end product, they’d highlight that and ensure we were doing the right thing. How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?Apriorit communicated truly well with us. For tools, we used Jira and Slack. We also had weekly calls via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other web collaboration tools. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Nikita was great at delivering on time and producing exceptional work quality. We changed our directions a number of times, and he dealt with such changes in an admirable way. What did you find most impressive about them?Other consulting firms simply execute on what we asked regardless of its result. Apriorit wasn’t like that at all. Instead, they constantly helped us refine what we were asking for to make amazing products. Overall, I was quite pleased with their work. They were great to work with all the time. Are there any areas they could improve? No, there weren’t any. Do you have any advice for potential customers?Apriorit partners with you. They’re not just a software development firm that does whatever you ask. They have highly talented developers, and you can engage with them to get feedback on what you’re asking them to do — they’ll help you build the best product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Apriorit helps us with development outsourcing services. Basically, they provide us with talented engineers to work as part of our research departments. Apriorit has a pool of multiple different engineers with different levels available at any time. When a new position opens in our company, I contact Apriorit directly. As soon as Apriorit gets our request for a specific type of engineer, they prescreen candidates and send us well-selected CVs for our specific scope. For this particular project, we've mostly requested experienced reverse engineers in specific operating systems and with specific domain knowledge.Additionally, Apriorit handles the entire outsourcing model. This includes managing the engineers' compensations, working conditions, and offices. They also offer onboarding and training services, but we haven't asked them to do any technical management. My company is in charge of all the technical aspects of our engagement with the engineers. Both are very strong performers. What did you find most impressive about them? The most impressive thing about Apriorit is that the engineers they provide are very strong. Are there any areas they could improve?Apriorit is very expensive, as their commissions are very high.Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs? If you come prepared with a very specific need and a clear idea of how you want to structure the work, whether with a project manager or directly with their engineers, you'll achieve the best results.

The task was to create a custom AI-powered chatbot for our SaaS client. They wanted a chatbot that would process customer queries on the website and in messengers, providing end-users with accurate product information quickly. For a better user experience, our client wanted the chatbot to be able to interpret end-user questions and respond in a human-like manner. Apriorit leveraged natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) algorithms to develop the chatbot. They established a Python software environment to train the AI chatbot using our client's diverse knowledge base, comprising various file formats such as PDF, DOC, CSV, website texts, and more. Additionally, they employed Language Models, embeddings, and Generative Pre-trained Transformers to enhance the chatbot's capabilities. Another task for Apriorit was to build the backend and set up a database for collecting and storing user data. We needed this to let our client analyze user data from the chatbot and improve live agents’ answers. We also needed to protect the personal data that users share with the chatbot, so Apriorit developers implemented end-to-end encryption for it. Lastly, Apriorit worked together with our team who was responsible for the client’s CRM system. Together, we connected the smart chatbot with the CRM system so that the conversation data is transferred directly to the CRM. Now, our client can offer personalized assistance to chatbot users based on their previous interactions and purchases.

**The Review** — Feb 17, 2023

**Feedback Summary**: The driver developed by Apriorit has become an integral part of the client’s technology stack. The team is communicative, timely, and available, and they deliver on time and within budget. They’re also highly responsive and communicative, and their skill set for low-level development is impressive.
"“Apriorit’s skill set and technical understanding of our challenge are outstanding.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an executive for a media storage technology company. We focus on the media entertainment industry, so we develop storage and server products for postproduction companies, TV stations, movie production companies, and other companies in the media entertainment vertical.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

One of the challenges in our market is the very high demand for storage performance. However, storage performance in this industry isn't the same as in the classic IT industry and bursts of random access. In content streaming, the video has to be played back at a very specific bit rate so that the user can see it playing smoothly at the speed it was filmed and produced.

In our products, there’s no advantage in playing content as quickly as possible. To achieve this smooth playback, we needed to provide a very specific performance, which was a very complex challenge. Thus, we had to develop a specific driver that helped us enable this functionality on our storage platforms, so we hired Apriorit to help us out.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Apriorit has helped us develop a low-level driver and other software pieces for our storage products. Initially, we described the challenge, provided them with screen recordings, and had some online meetings to put them in context for the project. Additionally, we gave them remote access to our development environment.

In the beginning, we worked with Apriorit on a project basis with a fixed scope. Now, we have three of their developers working for us as dedicated developers on a monthly basis. These developers are working with us on a couple of projects simultaneously.

What is the team composition?

We work with a project manager, two active developers, a junior developer working on junior tasks, and a QA team. I don’t know how many people are in Apriorit’s QA department, but they verify the developers’ work.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We found them on Google. Throughout the vetting process, we talked to a couple of different companies and evaluated them to see which one would be the best fit for our project. Apriorit was one of the few companies with the skills and knowledge to develop file-system-related drivers on a close-to-hardware level.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Apriorit has done a really good job. The driver that they’ve developed for us has become a key component of our product stack. That component is just a piece of the puzzle of our entire technology stack, but it is a very important piece. Overall, we’re very satisfied with their work.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

Apriorit performs very well, and they’ve always delivered on budget. Moreover, they’re very straightforward, easy to communicate with, and always available — they usually respond within hours. Our relationship has grown over time, and they now work almost as if they were permanent members of our team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Apriorit’s skill set and technical understanding of our challenge are outstanding. There are a lot of software development companies out there, but most of them focus on normal user applications. If someone requires well-performing low-level software deep down in the OS, there are only a few service providers to choose from, and Apriorit is one of them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing Apriorit could improve on. On one occasion, we didn’t do enough testing on our end after Apriorit delivered something, and we found out that there were a couple of bugs later on. Thus, we had to go back and get the code readjusted. However, this issue was caused mainly because of the lack of testing on our end.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend working with Apriorit for file-system-related, close-to-hardware driver development. That’s their niche.

""They were able to make changes to the iteration quickly based on our feedback.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of products of Strivacity, a customer identity and access management company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We needed someone to create sample demo websites that we can use to demonstrate how login, registration, and user management would fit into the workflow of any brand or product company.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Apriorit provided us with custom web development. We started with a discovery phase to discuss some high-level wireframes to get the look and feel of a proper web page, as well as implementing authentication protocols.

Apart from that, we had requirement meetings where we talked about the scope of the project and sent them designs, which we also had to clarify. We also did estimation sessions to understand the costs of building the products and had several meetings to provide feedback on the various development iterations.

We mainly used React for the frontend framework and OpenID Connect as our primary authentication protocol.

What is the team composition?

We mainly interacted with a project manager, lead developer, and a few QA specialists.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

Our company’s founder has been professionally acquainted with each other for about 20 years.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from April–June 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They delivered the project on time and on budget and met all of the requirements we requested. Thanks to them, we can now demonstrate the login, registration, and user management flows along with a single sign-on process so overall, the partnership was a success.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed well from a project management standpoint, and every interaction we had was done via Zoom and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were very impressed with the quality of their work, customer service, and responsiveness — they were able to make changes to the iteration quickly based on our feedback.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve on the reporting aspect of the project and it would’ve made the partnership more seamless if they had a portal for visibility in the progress.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

To get the most out of your engagement, I would advise you to be communicative, give as much information and feedback as needed, and be clear with your requirements.

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the director of engineering for a cybersecurity startup based in California and Belfast.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We were looking for extra development and QA resources.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our company produces cybersecurity platforms that large enterprise and government organizations use to analyze the intelligence specific to their system for different vulnerabilities and threats. They have been working on developing that platform along with the in-house staff.

The platform is a cloud-native extended detection and response (XDR) solution that correlates with the world’s largest global actor, technique, and indicator intelligence repository. It's aimed to deliver a one-of-a-kind extended detection and response solution that continuously detects threats and prevents attacks before they happen.

Apriorit worked on a roadmap project as part of the team with our internal developers and the QA test automation. They take on projects and code, work through the development life cycles like everyone else, and are an essential part of our team. They also host our web services on Amazon, and we also have some on-premise offerings as well.

We initially gave them some training and a statement of work. Now that they are up to speed, they pick up tasks like the rest of the team.

What is the team composition?

There are 11–12 members of their team working with us.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working in August 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work has been brilliant; they operate like full-time staff and are fantastic and easy to work with. They are also hard workers with good technical abilities. In addition, their team follows up on issues, and if there are any problems, they immediately bring them to our attention.

Overall, I couldn’t speak more highly of them; they are lovely to work with — if they don’t have enough work, they come and ask for it. All of our stuff goes through a solid QA cycle, so we haven’t seen any issues with their work. It is really solid.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

They operate as part of our project team and report directly to me for their work tasks and deadlines; they are integrated into our team and work alongside us. Also, they've met all the deadlines we have set.

Regarding communication, we use Slack and daily stand-up meetings to discuss what is going on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their work ethic, communication, and technical ability are outstanding. We have a benchmark because we have tried other agencies, and it wasn’t the same experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think there's anything they can improve on — they're great to work with, and it has been a positive experience.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Include them and make them a part of your team.

**The Review** — May 30, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Apriorit successfully built the required solution, allowing the client to launch their business. They cultivated a productive collaboration through constant availability and an organized approach. Considering the product’s complexity, their project management was impressive.
""Apriorit was always able to keep schedules, quality, and cost.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

Varjo is world leader in professional VR and XR headsets. We produce the highest quality, resolution devices for the simulations, design and research markets for the likes of fortune 500 companies and governmental organisations. I'm founder and CTO at Varjo.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Apriorit, and what were your goals?

Varjo had to find a high quality partner to solve the image processing and transfer challenges over optical fiber connections so that a high end pc could process the incredible resolution of our mixed reality cameras in real time with a few millisecond latency. This involved also interfacing with alpine ridge thunderbolt controller on the PCB. Later on we extended similar solution to work on USB as well as well as extended the system to work on Nvidia based AMD products.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We spend time looking for companies with background on similar know-how and similar timezone as the work mandated close collaboration between varjo and the camera ISP vendor. Apriorit had the experience and know-how and we felt like a team from the first call on.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Project was done in 3 phases:

Varjo established itself as world leader in video see through based mixed reality with the launch of XR-1. Far surpassing any expectations out there. Additionally, with the help of moving from thunderbolt to USB, the XR-3 enabled wide spread use in the commercial space of the technologies that Apriorit was intrumental in developing.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Apriorit is always available on slack. Clear agreement on deliverables ahead of time and weekly adjustment on the progress in addition to daily synchs with the software developers.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Apriorit was always able to keep schedules, quality, and cost. Almost unforseen in any subcontracting world, but doing it on the difficulty scale we had to do was simply incredible.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No.

**The Project**
- Services: Mobile App Development

**The Review** — Feb 21, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Apriorit’s numerous deliveries have been of great quality, with very few issues despite the project’s complexity, making the client extremely satisfied. The team is communicative, actively finding solutions to the issues that arise. Additionally, their professionalism and work quality are bar-none.
"“Whenever I receive anything from Apriorit, I’m confident that it is going to work fine.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of HomeWAV. We provide video visitation and communication services for correctional facilities.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We had a new mobile product for our operations and needed help creating a custom platform to manage it.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

First, I provided Apriorit with our requirements, information, and details about the product we needed to build. After a month, they created a mockup of how the product would be, which gave me great visibility into what they were capable of doing. Then, they started a development process divided into sprint cycles to manage the delivery of all the features they mentioned in their proposal. Finally, they delivered the product.

What is the team composition?

Initially, we worked with seven people from Apriorit, including five developers with different areas of expertise and two people in managerial positions. After some time, we decreased their team to three people. However, we need new features, so we might increase their team again.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

I first searched for a partner through Clutch to see what people thought of the different companies. During this research, I found three companies capable of doing exactly what I needed. I interviewed the three of them and looked at their developers’ resumes.

Ultimately, I decided to hire Apriorit because their developers stood out. Additionally, I found their blog very attractive. They updated it every day, actively talking about solutions on very interesting topics.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m very satisfied with Apriorit’s performance. Throughout our engagement, their team has completed 15–16 deliverables. After each delivery, we’ve done the QA in-house, and we’ve rarely found any issue. Given that they’re building a very complex product, I’ve always expected more bugs and issues, but they’ve always delivered a very clean product. Whenever I receive anything from Apriorit, I’m confident that it is going to work fine; that’s the best evidence I can share about the impact of their work.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

We have sprint cycle planning, backlog meetings, and scrum meetings to manage the project. We had a very active channel on Skype before moving to Slack. Now, we talk daily on Slack to discuss issues and how to resolve them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Apriorit’s work quality is impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if Apriorit improved their budgeting. Their services are costly, and sometimes, they’re not very clear about how much something will cost. For example, they provide me with an estimate for a project, and the billing at the end is different from what I expected. Of course, these projects present unexpected challenges, but given Apriorit’s expertise, it would be good if they gave me a more accurate estimate.

However, the quality of their work is worth their cost. I’m sure other developers charge half of what Apriorit does, but none of them has their processes, professionalism, and quality.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ensure that you discuss the budget with them and let them know about your budget limitations. Additionally, provide them with your entire requirements from the get-go; it will save you both time and money.

Head of Research, Risk Assessment & Cybersecurity Company
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Feb 22, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: With their code passing all the tests set forth, Apriorit worked diligently to make the engagement successful and give the client a competitive edge in their industry. They provided strong project management, stuck to their timeline, and held daily meetings to provide progress updates.
""They’re professional and independent."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of research for a risk assessment and cybersecurity company. We have a product for software security for the automotive and IoT industries. We do a complete scan for different software bugs and vulnerabilities. Our customers can also manage the whole lifecycle of vulnerabilities in our system.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We have a model that applies to vulnerabilities we wanted to find. This is a very complex approach that we developed in-house. We needed more hands to develop the complete solution. We wanted to outsource these tasks.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We used their developers to work on our project with us. There are three main models in the project. Starting with a small scope of work, we sent the first task to them, which was related to reverse engineering a solution and developing from there. It wasn't core to our project, but we used the trial project to establish a connection with the team and learn how we work together. After we saw that they did very good work, we moved to a complete project.

I already had the whole description of what needed to be done. Their goal was to implement existing designs into an app solution.  There were three integration processes over our year-long engagements. They took the product of their work and integrated it back into our product. Their code is now integrated with our internal code, which directly serves our customers.

In order to get this project done, there were two required skillsets. The first skillset is anything related to reverse engineering. There are many tools for this, such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, and more. The second skill we needed was development skills. Eventually, the goal was to write new models using automation for reverse engineering. In order to implement this, they used Python.

What is the team composition?

My daily work was with a senior developer and a junior developer. There was a project manager that I sometimes had talks with, but she wasn’t very involved. There was another representative that introduced us to the company and decided who to assign to us.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

I started by posting the job to Upwork and other platforms. The responses weren’t satisfying. Then, I decided to go to a more dedicated project company. I contacted several of them. Apriorit was fast and up-to-date. After one or two discussions with them, we were already set to go to the project. It was very efficient and comfortable.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $50,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from February 2020–January 2021. We're continuing to work with them on another project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I had complete and clear specifications of what I wanted to achieve and tests I wanted to pass. Eventually, they passed all the tests, which was the main measurement of success for me. The main goal of the project was to give us an advantage over our competitors. With them, we enhanced and improved our dedication to the automotive market through technological solutions.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was great. When doing a big project, accurate time estimates can be tricky. There were almost no surprises. We estimated this project would take about a year, and that's how long it took. We had daily meetings where they updated us on their progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re professional and independent. I gave them specifications, and they were able to handle most of the work completely independently. Except for our daily meetings, I didn’t have to deal with them. The results were good. All the integration processes led to increased dialogue with them as well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d like to hear more of their opinions on the process. They were driving the implementation process, so I'd appreciated if they'd share their thoughts on that process or other ideas on how we could improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You should come prepared. Have a strong vision of what you want to achieve.

**Feedback Summary**: Internal stakeholders and users alike are pleased with Apriorit’s work. The project was well-managed, with the team emphasizing clear communication, transparency, and flexibility. Along the way, the team’s knowledge helped them identify areas to improve the product.
""Apriorit delivered everything we needed."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of software at an audio technology company. We make consumer and professional electronics for making music.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We hired Apriorit for a couple of software development projects.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Both of our projects with Apriorit were very similar, and they each involved porting two of our existing applications from 32-bit to 64-bit, to make them compatible with Mac OS Catalina. The projects involved updating the user interface (created with VST GUI) to more modern frameworks.

What is the team composition?

We worked with three people from the team: a project manager, a developer, and a QA tester.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

I was doing some research on kernel extensions in Mac OS, and I found a very good article on Apriorit’s website. It sounded like they knew what they were talking about, and we didn’t have the engineering resources in house for this project, so we decided to partner with their team.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between £25,000–£50,000 (approximately $32,000–$65,000 USD) with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from October 2018–August 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Not only did Apriorit complete the work we asked of them, they also found and fixed other bugs within the existing software. The team has definitely improved the quality of the software.

Since the launch, we’ve had very few customer complaints. Users have been able to continue using their hardware, which is great.

In this way Apriorit have helped us ensure our products continue to work with Apple's latest operating systems.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent. Apriorit had a dedicated project manager who was always available for us. Throughout the project, the team’s communication was exceedingly good. If there was ever a need to clarify scheduling or goals, we could always hop on a call. Also, they always let us know if the schedule was ever going to go over.

We kept in touch mostly over email, and used spreadsheets and tables to track progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of the work delivered is most impressive to me. Once the work was developed, we didn’t even really need to review it — it was excellent quality.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything for these products. Apriorit delivered everything we needed.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you have a clear specification of what you need before you meet.

**The Review** — Aug 13, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Apriorit efficiently delivered an exceptional platform that achieved a 90% precision rate and a 97% recall rate. By investing time to understand the project’s goals, the team provided accurate time and cost estimates. They met challenges with effective solutions to secure a successful partnership.
""Their team developed a highly accurate product in a short period of time."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

My company’s called Cycle Clarity. The company works in the AI space with health care. We incorporated ultrasound in health care using AI to better understand an ultrasound.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We needed their help in understanding how to develop a platform of AI to read ultrasound videos.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Apriorit helped us with a proof of concept phase to demonstrate that our idea could be done. Their team built the tool primarily using TensorFlow. They then used a variety of technologies to annotate, allowing us to show AI what was normal and abnormal. After three generations of adjustments to the platform, we now have a functional platform available to assist in health care.

When we conduct ultrasounds, we take ultrasound videos of different body parts. Our product then uses AI to read the ultrasound images and define the different body parts and look for pathophysiology. If there’s any pathology, the tool annotates, describes, and measures it for us.

What is the team composition?

We interfaced with a project coordinator who helped us with the job descriptions and the scope of work. We also work with 1–2 different programmers.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We found them on the web and then spent a fair amount of time interviewing and understanding them. We also talked with some of their references.

How much have you invested with them?

When we started the project, we knew how much it would cost and that’s what we paid. We’ve probably spent around $40,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the partnership in January 2020, and phase three wrapped up in August. I’m sure there will be a phase four and five as we continue to fine-tune the product.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We started without any experience in the AI space. With their help, we reached a precision rate of 90% and a recall rate of 97%. They developed a platform with a high degree of accuracy. We’re happy with them.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

Apriorit spent time understanding what we wanted to conceive. They then spent a lot of time on the scope of work, which meant we knew our goals and costs going into every phase. They met every deadline. Their customer service and communication were great.

We used an annotation tool that was available online. We also leveraged a variety of different tools to dissect the images into individual files that we annotated and then recombined into a video and then sent back to them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team developed a highly accurate product in a short period of time. They also communicated well. Their team told us about any potential challenges. When they had them, they tackled them in efficient and effective ways. Apriorit did an amazing job.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I honestly think they did everything well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Help them to understand your goals and how you want to reach them. Have a constructive dialogue about how to implement the project in regard to phases and a budget. If you communicate well with them, they’ll get the job done.

**The Review** — Jul 27, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The project was successful, helping increase customer confidence in the system’s security. For a cost-effective fee, Apriorit worked efficiently and delivered excellent results. They communicated well, ensuring their partners felt like they were on the same page throughout the engagement.
"“On top of that, their ability to communicate is much better than other providers.”

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Our company is called Cryptonomic and we’re a software company centered around watching technology in the financial industry. And we build open source products in the financial industry. I’m the CTO.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

It’s really important that our software is secure. We built a new product that was geared towards users around the world, and it needed to be audited. We needed someone with deep expertise in security to look at the code and deployment to find any security issues, and advise on how to fix them. Then, once we fix the security issues, we want them to certify that the fix is effective.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We didn’t have to do a lot, which was great. They have decent knowledge in computer security and cryptology. We gave them all the details, pointed them to the source good, and answered a few basic questions. They came up with a timeline that was responsive and quick. Then they proposed a project structure that looked good. Once we gave them the go-ahead, they ran all the tests and got back to us.

What is the team composition?

We dealt with a single person, Marina (Full-Stack Developer). She asked questions on behalf of their team and answered our queries, which was really convenient for us.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We had a position up on a contracting platform. We received a bunch of proposals and checked out their website. Apriorit was pretty solid, we had a brief chat, and it was clear they knew their stuff.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2020 and wrapped up in July 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our reputation was boosted because of the audit report. We released the results publicly so our customer could have more confidence in our product. It’s very important for financial software to be independently audited. Not only does it matter to us, but it helps our customers feel like their funds are secure.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed really well. The communication was essential; they only asked things that really mattered and they seemed to know their way around computer security. The module was set up in such a way that there was constant mutual understanding of where the project was going and I didn’t have to think too much about it.

The platform we used to find them had a built-in chat function, so that’s how we communicated.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very cost effective. We think other providers would have charged a lot more. As a startup, the cost was very important to us. On top of that, their ability to communicate is much better than other providers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing comes to mind because they completed the project quickly and successfully.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Outline your goals and project plan upfront. The rest of it will take care of itself. Structure is very important.

**Feedback Summary**: The client is highly satisfied with the quality of Apriorit’s work. They show a clear aptitude for quickly grasping requirements, learning new skills, and engaging in close collaboration. Their willingness to go above and beyond makes for a successful partnership.
""Apriorit provides great talent to us and quickly understands our needs."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Beam Solutions. We are a startup in the tech space, focused on enterprise solutions.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We needed some frontend developers.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Apriorit does frontend development in Angular for some tools we made. There are tools for transaction monitoring, including an investigation tool for things like case management. Tools needed for any financial institution and money movement is the focus.

We gave them limited, dedicated access at first, slowly phasing them into fuller access to the project. They work collaboratively with another company we hired to split work, as well as our internal lead engineer. They occasionally make suggestions to our design team.

What is the team composition?

There are two senior frontend developers working with us.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

They were recommended by two different contacts. We did consider several candidates, but we were satisfied with the skill that Apriorit showed in the coding test we gave them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $200,000 roughly.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together around November 2018, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Apriorit works well with our internal team as well as the other vendor we hired. They quickly adapted from a technical perspective, advancing in skills and experience over the course of the engagement. They work well with us and articulate themselves clearly. Our lead engineer has given outstanding feedback on Apriorit’s work.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Jira and Slack to communicate. We have meetings almost daily to stay on top of progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Apriorit provides great talent to us and quickly understands our needs. Their work is quality as well. We are very happy with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There is a small language barrier, and their QA testing could be a little better.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Think of a long-term engagement with them. Encourage them to collaborate in your time zone, if possible.

**The Review** — Mar 26, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The development work delivered by Apriorit successfully connected the products chosen by their client in ways that maximized compatibility while minimizing risk from external softwares. Their team was incredibly organized, handling project management themselves and coming prepared to all meetings.
""Their work made our lives easier when using it and deploying it."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am a software developer at a cybersecurity company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What Challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We have hired them for many projects, but this last project dealt with connecting our products in another way. Our product has an API, but there are some other side products that use our API and connect them in the way the customer wants.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

In this project, Apriorit helped us with connecting our product and implementing the API to make it work with our protocol in order to protect customers from downloading suspicious files as well as customers who want to protect themselves from uploading suspicious documents to their web server.

They used .NET core, and it is written in C#. They used it with Docker technology that we wanted to integrate it with our system.

What is the team composition?

There was one developer who I was in direct contact with, and we also had a project manager. A QA person was involved as well, but we didn’t have any interaction with him.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We had worked with them for a while on many projects. I personally entered the relationship with them after one or two projects were completed, so I don’t know exactly how my predecessor initially engaged with them. I do know that he was looking at many companies and in the end, he chose them. We have continued our interaction with them for several years now.

How much have you invested in them?

The total project has cost between $20,000–$30,000 USD.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them on this project from January 2019–February 2020. There were two phases of the project with an interval between them.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We recently gave them the second payment after we ensured that things are working. We performed our own QA and integration into our system. They were able to work with our system and then we integrated it fully. We are happy with the quality. They performed very well, as they did in all the other projects we have worked with them on.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

They took most of the planning on themselves when it came to project management, and they presented us with questions and prepared documents before starting. The interval we had was because of our internal changes. We were impressed that they could start working immediately on it again even though a year had passed.

They provided us with weekly updates and whenever there were technical or management questions, they would respond immediately. They were available whenever I needed them. We used email for updates and the code was through Bitbucket. I suppose they use tools internally, but we didn’t use any together.

What did you find most impressive about them?

In general, I think things went well. In particular, during the primary design of the project, we wanted to use a third-party library with API in order to complete the project on time. During the project, they saw that the deployment was a little bit too confusing and there was too much to do in order to start using it, so they rewrote the part themselves into .NET without adding to the budget or timeline.

I think this was especially impressive and a nice surprise. Their work made our lives easier when using it and deploying it, and in the future when we will need to investigate things, it will make things simpler for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The interaction with the developer was through the project manager at first. It was sometimes less convenient, but at a certain stage, we were able to have direct contact with him.

When I received the final product, I did have some comments on their code. I am a developer myself so I could look into it. There were a few things that could be improved when it came to code quality, but they weren’t severe problems.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise considering a long-term relationship with them rather than just something that is one time and short. It is good to have a long-term relationship with them as our communication and ability to understand each other really improved from project to project which then improved the quality of what we got as we understood each other well.

**The Review** — Mar 6, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Apriorit has maintained a long-term engagement by delivering high-quality code and continuously improving their processes. They make their work comprehensible to internal stakeholders who don’t have software engineering expertise. Their project managers are knowledgeable and communicate seamlessly.
"“Based on my experience, their communication makes them stand out.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner and founder of a software company that makes data recovery and backup tools for phones and computers. We started as a digital forensics company, and we had a lot of regular customers who wanted access to digital forensic tools that were typically only available to investors and law enforcement. We wanted to provide data recovery solutions to everyday people, so we split in 2016. That has evolved into backup solutions for cell phones and computers.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We needed to outsource development.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Apriorit is our only developer; we’ve outsourced our development solely to them. They’ve developed our iOS, Android, and web apps. I believe they originally started with C++ and have done some Microsoft development.

Apriorit does both design and development. They’ve designed our website, software, and software interface. We’ve worked with them in two capacities, the first of which is project-based work, where we have specific features to add. They prepare the statement of work and complete the project based on their quote. We’ve also hired full-time developers through them.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with two different teams from Apriorit, one of which does web development, and the other does design. Right now, we have two full-time developers from their team working with us. We also have a QA person who is either full-time or half-time, depending on the quantity of work each month. I work directly with one project manager who manages all of the app development, and another project manager who manages website development.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

I’ve been working with them for approximately 20 years, before they actually formed into the company that they are now. We found them through old forums around 2000. We needed them to do project-based development work, which they did piece-by-piece. We liked their work and eventually started hiring them full-time. At one point, our sister company had about 20 developers. We’ve worked with them for a long time.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $120,000 the first year, and then probably only $50,000 total over the next couple of years. In 2019, we spent over $100,000. Right now, we’re currently doing about $15,000 a month.

What is the status of this engagement?

This project began around October 2016, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve been impressed by their improvements over the years. Whenever we start a project or feature set, we go through the whole process of writing up a document that outlines everything, from front to back, so that we can make sure we get the entire scope of work. Then, they give feedback suggestions, which is very good from my standpoint since I’m not a software engineer. They really educate me as we go.

Their QA process has also improved immensely, to the point that when we release a product, there are no surprises. There are inevitably bugs in software, but the scale of the bugs is a lot smaller than it used to be back when we started working together. They find bugs and eliminate them before the release. They’ve really improved their QA throughout the development process.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project managers are knowledgeable and on top of things, and that is something that I really appreciate about working with them. Even if their project managers aren’t developers, they know how to convey issues from a development standpoint. They’re very good at communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Based on my experience, their communication makes them stand out. The developers are also very productive and maintain an advanced skill level; we don’t waste time dealing with bugs from poor code.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Anything they could’ve done, they have, from my perspective. I can’t pinpoint anything that they need to improve on at this point.

Any advice for potential customers?

I’d recommend having somebody that can dedicate the time to working with the project manager. They’re very efficient and productive as long as they have two-way communication.

**Feedback Summary**: While the product isn’t launched yet, the team at Apriorit delivered a bug-free system that will benefit company growth. Their project management style complemented their skilled expertise. While work speed could improve, their dedication to their clients’ vision is top-notch.
""Apriorit puts a lot of focus into their solutions."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of project development for a parental control software developer. We’re developing an internet content & filter for parental control software where the customer installs a piece of software on their computer or mobile device. It can then be controlled and monitored from different online portals.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We initially developed the software for a specific operating system. We wanted to start moving out into other operating systems as well. We were looking for low-level, kernel developers, and didn’t want to work with someone who would take our existing technology and port it to a different OS platform. The system was built for Windows, and we needed it to be adapted into Android or iOS.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our product is split between different domains. We asked their team to build an SDK. Outside of them, our team developed the wrappers that go around that, along with designing the UI and interfaces. Apriorit designed and developed the low-level SDK that we can consume through APIs. We needed certain functionality that fits closely to the OS. The initial project is complete, but now we’re working on phase two. They also offer a support aspect as well.

What is the team composition?

Depending on the stage of the project, we talked with 5–10 people. We have a central point of contact.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We were looking for a specific niche area of software development. The majority of software development houses are data-focused rather than dealing with low-level work. We found Apriorit through Google.

We mentioned their name to one of the development companies that we work with, and they said they worked with them before and were happy with them. After that discussion, we went to meet them and decided to work with Apriorit.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost between $250,000–$500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with Apriorit started in August 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We will be working with Apriorit in the long-term. The project hasn’t gone to market yet because we’re still working on the higher areas of it. During beta testing, a couple of thousand users had no problems with it at all. We’re confident that the product is going to enable us to grow.

We’re looking forward to using what they’ve developed. One of the requirements was to have great automated testing. Everything works via Jenkins, and it’s well-managed. The project was well-planned.

Apriorit puts a lot of focus into their solutions. Their team uses a modern approach that we would expect from an engagement. When we get a delivery from them, we very rarely come across bugs. Their testing seems to be good.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

From a project management standpoint, it’s been very good. Everything is done in sprints, but not the typical agile sprints. We stretch things out a little bit longer than that, but they break down the tasks well. Everything is tracked in Jira.

What did you find most impressive about them?

If someone is looking for low-level software development that understands the technology, they know how to stretch it to the limits and achieve what other groups say is unachievable. The team at Apriorit doesn’t take no for an answer. They will find a way to fulfill any client’s business needs. It’s something we’ve struggled to find with other companies we previously worked with in this area.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One of the issues we’ve had dealt with time. We would be a lot happier to grow the team and move quicker, but they don’t always have the resources available to scale when necessary. Things do take a bit longer than we would like, but not due to any technical issues we have.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ensure that what you’re asking them to do is something that requires low-level software development expertise. Their team performs best when they have a tough problem that requires investigation. Allow them the space to do those before they start working on the actual development. This helps them understand the technical limitations of what the customer is trying to achieve and other expectations.

Stay very focused on creating the proof of concepts because the typical development they’re doing for us is hard to predict when it comes to cost.

**The Review** — Jun 5, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Apriorit has contributed high-level technical acumen and insight to transform a web- and mobile-based remote desktop product into a complete solution for PAM with sophisticated security features. The team managed the project seamlessly and delivered fully tested, flawless deliverables.
""Apriorit has delivered on every challenge I've given them."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for Devolutions, Inc. Our main product is called remote district manager. Our new product, Wayk Now, is another remote desktop software. My title is Wayk Product Manager.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We hired Apriorit to support multiple projects. Our development work for Wayk Now involves cutting-edge development. We needed to develop a new codec that would be usable for both native mobile apps and web-based applications for remote desktop usage.

Other projects we're working on entail proxying remote desktop traffic for inspection and adding additional security to become a full PAM (privileged access management) solution.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our company had identified a codec with all of the properties we needed. We first contracted Apriorit to re-implement the JFWX codec in Rust to be compatible with WebAssembly, a new type of code similar to JavaScript that can run in a browser. The same code can be repurposed inside our C program, which will eventually be usable in a web-based version of our remote desktop client.

The team figured out how to create this solution within about a month. After we spent another month on iteration and tons of unit tests, it was fully complete.  Since then, we've started implementing a new RDP stack for the Microsoft remote desktop protocol.

Apriorit helped us create a functional proxy to perform the authentication sequence it required. It enables the software to use temporary credentials while completely hiding the real ones used on the second side of the proxy. This feature is very useful for privileged access management.  Users never have to send the actual password to the remote desktop client.

For our third engagement, we are pushing the previous product further. We're moving after the connection sequence and after the authentication sequence. Apriorit is working on the full connection sequence for RDP entirely in Rust.

What is the team composition?

We've mostly worked with the same project manager and developer from Apriorit. In fact, we recently signed a dedicated developer agreement. Rather than being fixed by project, our engagement is based on time.

Having the same resource from their side assures us the work will be of good quality for at least six months. We will most likely renew the contract at that point.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

A couple of years ago, I was actually working as a consultant myself for Dell, who had engaged both Apriorit and myself to work on the same project.

Last year, the CEO of Apriorit contacted me on LinkedIn to ask if I was interested in working together. At the time, I happened to have some projects I was willing to outsource.

For our first project, they solved the problem at a surprisingly competitive price. We've moved on to more complicated engagements since.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent about $50,000–$100,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in October of 2018 and is still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The deliverables they've given us required few unit tests, so I consider them to be very high quality. Many vendors don't take testing seriously, but Apriorit has a highly skilled and dedicated QA department. They provided documentation for how to use the deliverable. The coverage was over 90 percent, which is extremely high.  We were astonished by how quickly they finished our first project.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

From a project management standpoint, working with Apriorit has been a dream. We only have to interact with our dedicated project manager, and everything gets done. Our project is quite complex, so I couldn't be happier with their performance.

When we start a new project, I usually draft the requirements and send the list through our project manager to the developer. They come back with estimates and questions so we can address issues and remove or add elements until the project is completely scoped. Once they send us a full list with pricing for different tasks, we proceed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The complexity of deliverables they've been able to produce is quite something. I would highly recommend them for any challenging project. Apriorit has delivered on every challenge I've given them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I have nothing bad to say about them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My best tip would be to start with a task that's quite complex, but fairly isolated from your company's main current focus. Find a project that does not involve much interaction with your existing software. For instance, a large, complex first project that depends on a lot of internal tools is a recipe for disaster based on my experience in consulting.

I carefully designed this project to have zero interaction with our existing internal tools. Since our first engagement together required absolutely nothing from our side to get started, it worked quite well. The best way to go is having them create a module you can plug right in.

**The Review** — Apr 3, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Drawing from high-level technical knowledge and expertise, Apriorit went beyond simply fulfilling the requirements to improve the end product from a UX standpoint. They demonstrated a keen understanding of the underlying business challenge. The team is proactive, reliable, and skilled.
"“The engineers’ education and training shone through in their work.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

The company is a US-based security firm that works with hardware and software. My role for this project was product manager.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We approached Apriorit specifically for development support with kernel drivers.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We wanted to create a driver that could control the flow of traffic to desktop and connect devices to a host machine. We had a clear picture of how it was supposed to work and the steps we needed to take to complete it. Beyond connecting us with developers, Apriorit handled project management as well.

Apriorit programmed the code in C. They originally built the kernel driver for Windows. Later on, we added on compatibility for iOS. We had known from the start that they had the right skill sets to develop for both Mac and Linux, which was part of their appeal as a vendor.

What is the team composition?

Apriorit assigned one project manager and a main developer to our project that I know of. We didn't have any regular contact with the other developers. I assume the iOS specialist is a different person.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We found Apriorit online after searching extensively for a developer. I appreciated the in-depth level of their engagement with us. I met with the CEO and our project manager multiple times. We found them appealing because they were located in a time zone and strong language skills that matched well with ours.

I had worked with Apriorit in the past and knew that they had the specific skill set we needed for this recent project. Our past experience together assured us they could fulfill our business requirements.

How much have you invested with them?

Our budget for the iOS subset of the product was $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on this project from October–November 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Apriorit went beyond simply building the new features we included in the specifications. They notified us whenever they noticed something that didn't make sense, and suggested a better alternative. We found their advice quite valuable. They helped us end up with a truly useful product from the end user perspective.

The entire process was structured. Apriorit was very skilled and performed at a high level. They clearly understood the business problem we were trying to solve through this product development. The engineer's education and training shone through in their work.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

Our main contact was the project manager. She translated our business requirements for the development team and helped us achieve our goals. The project manager communicated effectively. They provided thorough documentation for the project.

We mainly contacted Apriorit using email along with a few online meeting sessions. Their communication was excellent, and they maintained the perfect level of frequency.

Apriorit knows what they're doing. They reached out to us with any updates or questions proactively. I could always tell they were driving the project forward.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The engineers from Apriorit considered our business case as a whole rather than just working through the specs mechanically. They had a clear view of what we wanted to achieve, which is very valuable. Many developers only write the code they're instructed to. They're a smart and motivated team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Future clients are in good hands. Apriorit is very knowledgable. We've been using them for the same specific type of development, but I'm sure they have other areas of expertise.

**The Review** — Feb 26, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Apriorit’s impressive coding expertise fortified the abilities of the in-house developers. Since kernel level development is much harder to test than user-facing code, their QA process was especially impressive. They fully satisfied the client’s high expectations via prompt, high caliber delivery.
"“Apriorit is a great choice for any client that wants a partner that offers positive, collaborative interaction.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and chief architect of a computer software company. We sell virtualization and remote access products to customers globally.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We needed to develop a sales and technology software that involved Windows kernel level development, which we don’t have the expertise for in-house.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired Apriorit to develop in Windows kernel-mode. There are many different kernel-driver level development tasks. There’s a decent amount of complexity associated with this process. A piece of code developed on user mode is much easier to debug than kernel-driver level development.
Apriorit went through the development and QA phases. They ran testing within our facilities and fixed bugs in a timely fashion. They added the Windows authentication type driver into our product to put into production and deliver to customers.

We set specific requirements for the functionality and how to develop the actual kernel-driver code.  We provided the product management spec from a functionality point of view and one for building the API  to communicate between our components. Anything that is internal to their code, they develop to the best of their capabilities. We haven't interfered too much with their development process.

What is the team composition?

The team included a project manager and a lead developer. We interacted with several people. We don’t know how many developers were on the project. It was a fixed price project.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

I was introduced to the CEO years ago. Since then, I’ve met with him in New York City from time to time. I’d been aware of the team’s expertise, but hadn’t had the opportunity to actually give them a project before

For this project, we requested proposals from Apriorit and two other companies. We selected them based on their professionalism from the initial interaction and proposal provision to the negotiation phase. They maintained the same caliber through to the deliveries.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from October 2017–September 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s not easy for me to give someone full marks, but in this case, I give Apriorit a perfect score. Working with them was a great success, which I rarely say about people. The team performed everything very professionally. They delivered the code and fixed any bugs in a timely and proficient manner that merited our full satisfaction.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

We had great interactions. We had bi-weekly calls with the project manager and the lead developer. Detailed requirement documents laid out the features the development should include.

The project was separated into milestones.  Whenever they couldn’t finish on time, they told us in advance, explained why, and provided a different estimate. The project manager worked with our R&D team to make sure everything has been delivered to us.

When they believed we should do something differently, we’d hold an intelligent conversation and went with one of our decisions or the other side’s. Since they have a lot of experience, they were often right about specific things. We prefer this type of interactive dialogue to companies that just always say yes unthinkingly to everything we ask for.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of the most difficult things to do in this space is kernel-level or driver level development. Specifically, for low-level, kernel-driver development, I highly recommend you go to Apriorit. It’s a unique experience working with them. I’ve been with my company for 25 years, and it’s rare for me to give such a high compliment to any vendor.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Listen to Apriorit because they’re the experts. Before saying yes to what they propose, make sure that you understand it and make an informed decision. If someone is looking for a “yes man,” they should go elsewhere. Apriorit is a great choice for any client that’s looking for a partner who offers positive and collaborative interactions.”

Founder & CTO, Data Recovery Company
- Industry: Other industries

**The Review** — Aug 2, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Apriorit’s demonstrated technical proficiency was unique among 10-20 teams in consideration for the project bid. Without their development expertise, the product never could have come to fruition. The team couples excellent programming skill with professional conduct and rapid communication.
"“Apriorit’s developers are the top experts in their field.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CTO of a small, high-tech business. We build hardware and software tools for data recovery service providers and government agencies on the B2B channel. We provide very distinct computer-related technologies to restore data from failed hard drives and solid state drives (SSDs).

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

For quite a long time, we were searching for experts in the Windows driver development area. Most of our hardware works on our own proprietary operating system. While we occasionally need drivers for standard devices, we don’t have internal resources with this skill since it’s not our primary focus. Only a few companies provide this type of service in North America, and none we found in the U.S. or Canada fit our allocated budget. We hired Apriorit for consulting and development services after confirming their capabilities

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our company builds hardware that works on various operating systems, particularly for Windows. We needed a driver that connects our devices to the Windows operating system and allows proper functionality and communication with the applications we write.
Rather than a key solution, Apriorit built a platform that enabled us to create our own custom driver for failed mass storage devices. Since the broken devices we work with aren't compatible with standard protocols, they need a sophisticated tool to comply with operating system specifications.

Our custom product differs in many ways from standard drivers for functional hardware. We had quite specific and unusual requirements for the display. After Apriorit completed the framework, they spent a few more weeks helping us build a compatible key solution. Anytime a problem or question appeared, they quickly resolved it.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with three people from Apriorit including a senior business development manager and a project manager. One developer served as my point of contact to the rest of the technical team.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We found Apriorit through Upwork. I published the requirements of our project and filtered through the 10-20 companies that responded. Based on our first interchange, they seemed like professional experts that could help us with this challenging endeavor.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $15,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our project lasted from May–June 2018. We're still in the process actually, and that’s a good thing. As we encounter new questions and problems, Apriorit continues to support us, even though the project is officially finished and we’ve sent all the payments. I will probably hire them for the next phase of the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The key metric for success was that we were simply unable to complete this project without Apriorit. They helped us build the entire product. The quality of their development work is at the highest level I can imagine. We didn't find any other team worldwide with the same level of topical skills. Apriorit’s developers are the top experts in their field.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

We usually used email to stay in touch and added Skype calls when necessary. In most cases, I communicated with the project manager. She’d escalate specific, technical inquiries to a developer who would contact me directly with a detailed response.

Apriorit’s communication was simply fantastic. Despite the time zone difference, they always responded to me within an hour. I'd hear back from them the next day at the very latest. Rather than merely confirming receipt, their correspondence always contained real answers and solutions to my problems.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I most admired Apriorit’s professionalism and expertise. Their resources are highly skilled. Regarding project management, they had excellent response times and customer service. I'm a very satisfied client.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend videoconferencing with both the project manager and developers.  Sometimes emails can extend the timeframe, and it’s useful to discuss targets and challenges verbally. I prefer communicating directly with developers, but I understand why project managers are helpful. They can direct my questions to the correct

**The Review** — May 24, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: The platform has helped some clients achieve a 20% profit increase. Apriorit resolves issues within 24 hours, organizes efficient project sprints, asks insightful questions to determine the product's goals. Their communication and management are always top-notch.
""On a Google review, the product would receive between 4.5 and 5 stars."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

PayDay Resources is a human resource company. I’m general manager, and my role is strategic planning and daily operations.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We needed to address a client's human resource need.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

It’s a software as a service (SaaS) product. We provide them with the scope of work, the use cases, and the workflow, which they implement in the software language of their expertise. They use AngularJS.

We asked them for an online user base with roles and rights that allows multiple users to address human resource issues along the whole employee lifecycle. This includes everything from recruiting and onboarding, to termination or separation, to integration with third-party vendors that offer support products like health insurance, employee benefits, or worker's comp and general liability insurance.

The platform also integrates payroll data so that all participating parties have the appropriate payroll and employee information to offer the best products.

What is the team composition?

We currently have six full time engineers. We were assigned a project manager.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

After it was recommended that we use AngularJS, a gentleman we knew introduced us to Apriorit. We initially vetted them and some other companies. We isolated it to Apriorit after our investigation of their capabilities and prior projects.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent little over $1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2015 and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

With the companies that we’ve recruited, we’ve seen a 20% increase in new business because of the HR product we rolled out, not including the payroll module. On a Google review, the product would receive between 4.5 and 5 stars. The turnaround time is about 24 hours, from introducing the problem to fixing it.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been exceptional across the board. We have sprints, sometimes weekly, and standup meetings every day. They all understand English, and every team member can write fluent English. We use Slack, Skype, phone calls, and email. I’ve personally interviewed every person.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re professional. We’ve used Indonesian and Indian developers before, and the communication barrier was significant. With Apriorit, there is almost no communication barrier. Their interest in asking more questions to discover specifics about the product's performance has been a nice surprise.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Product releases are timely, but sometimes they're a little too enthusiastic and it gets released before we can notify our customers.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

In the current political climate, there’s always a concern about using international engineers who are closely associated with Russia. As a business owner, I would recommend the reassurance of data protection. Make sure that security issues are available for review at any time.

Senior Director of Software Engineering, OPSWAT
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 51-200 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Mar 5, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Apriorit’s test builds were valuable tools for demonstration purposes, and their resources helped to speed up the development cycle and decrease the time to market. The team managed the project perfectly and impressed with their expertise in driver technology and cross-platform development.
"“They seem to be very good at what they are doing.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

OPSWAT is a provider of malware multi-scanning and device compliance solutions. We build products for device and data security, integrating multiple anti-malware vendors into an in-house scanning engine. We have a proprietary technology called “content disarm and reconstruction”, which we call “data centralization” internally. It is considered an industry-leading technology.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We were developing a low-level driver for monitoring interactions between USB media and operating systems.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked closely with Apriorit to define the product roadmap and perform acceptance testing across multiple milestones. We provided a requirements document describing the behavior of the driver, based on which they drafted a statement of work describing their services, the product features, and future enhancements. We discussed the feasibility of each feature based on their complexity and expense. We defined a project timeline and delivery scope together.

The driver sits between the operating system and the applications running on it, facilitating low-level interactions with the interrupt memory, hardware, firmware, and interaction callbacks. It was built to monitor the system input/output, detecting USB devices plugged into system ports. The operating system will initiate a signal to a callback string, a signal which is monitored by the driver built by Apriorit. Whenever a new USB device is plugged in, it will be intercepted and blocked until our software has finished examining it.

What is the team composition?

They assigned two engineers and a product manager to our project.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We reached out to two outsourcing companies for the development of this project. We found Apriorit through a referral. Their background knowledge seemed to fit us the best.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost of their work was $50,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Apriorit in August 2015. The initial project is finished but we are currently working on another one with their team.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of work provided by Apriorit was good. They delivered exactly what we agreed upon. We leveraged their resources to increase our internal development cycle and shorten the time to market. The overall experience has been good.

The testing builds they gave us were useful for demonstrating the agreed-upon features and what we would be able to do in the future.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

We maintained weekly meetings with the team. The scope detailed our expectations and required time for the build. We had real-time feedback and maintained agile project management. Their team was dynamic, allowing us to adjust our requirements from time to time, to get a better market fit. We used Jira for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their driver-level technology background is impressive. Apriorit has engineers who are familiar with cross-platform development, specifically Windows and Linux.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. Based on our experience, they seem to be very good at what they are doing.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

It’s important to provide a detailed scope and have consistent meetings with the engineering team. Apriorit has reliable project management and development skills, but, when requesting changes, clients need to provide clear differentiation between the previous scope and current one.

- Industry: Information technology

- Client size: 51-200 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Feb 16, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: The system was successful in hundreds of applications. Apriorit was effective in translating requirements and challenges, while a holistic approach to development ensured accuracy. Timely delivery, transparent progress reports, and knowledge around more-obscure Windows subjects proved advantageous.
"“They’ve never disappointed me because of their fast reactivity and ability to stick to timelines.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a cyber security company focusing on deception. We have a team of around 45 people globally and have served 300 worldwide customers to date, including Fortune 500 companies and others.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We sometimes use a contractor to accelerate some of our development processes.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked with them several times. One project was developing a tool to help defend ransomware for Windows. Part of it was developed in .NET and part was in C. They developed most of the solution with us. We designed it but didn’t have resources in our R&D, so we asked them to take the project from concept to delivery.

We published several versions—the first of which was done in two or three months. We had to make adaptations and have them update the software due to ransomware’s ever-changing behavior. We also expanded our capabilities based on customer requests. They were responsible for testing the code for bugs since they developed it. They worked very closely with our research team and did a good job.

What is the team composition?

They had a project manager and a CTO who was the head of the team and strong in technology.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

A friend of mine who had also worked with them referred them to me.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent around $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them on this project in January 2016 and finished in May 2017.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were successful in running hundreds of ransomware in the system. Each project they’ve worked on has been very successful. They’re really professional. They’ve never disappointed me because of their fast reactivity and ability to stick to timelines. I’ve never had complaints from my staff about Apriorit, which tells me that they’re a strong team.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is one of their strengths. Their project manager is able to translate the business logic and development challenges effectively. They’re also in charge of verifying whether the customer actually receives what they’re paying for.

They have someone who manages their business in the U.S., which is important because they actually know the requirements. He even came to San Francisco from New York to meet me in person.

They begin by confirming that they’re able to do a project. After the design is finished—either on their side or the customer’s—and finalized, they provide a project document which outlines milestones, developer capabilities, time for development, and QA testing. It’s all very professional and the start and finish of every project is clear.

The biggest problem in working with offshore teams is not knowing when they’ll finish a project. I’ve worked with four other groups, but I keep coming back to Apriorit because I know what I’m going to get. They’ve never missed a deadline.

They use Excel and PDF reports. They have a monthly session to discuss progress and present us with what they’ve done so far. Whether it’s a mockup or mid-project progress, they always give us a chance to look at the code. It’s good to see because you know that someone is working and doing something rather than just reporting via email. There’s more interaction when you get involved and learn how they work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very strong in development of kernel drivers and other Windows-related things that Microsoft never publishes documentation on. They’re phenomenal in this area.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I really enjoy working with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Pay them for what you need and don’t try to cut the price just because they’re offshore. They’re not expensive and don’t like to negotiate because their prices are already very affordable. They cost 50% less than other companies I’ve received quotes from.

"“They deliver on time, they’re responsive, and I’m happy with their work.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO of a company that develops products mainly in the IT security field. We have customers worldwide, and I’m in charge of managing the product good and development group.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?
Some of the research and development (R&D) we do requires reverse engineering and research on proprietary formats and algorithms. We wanted to accelerate this R&D, so we began looking for a partner to augment our internal team.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
Apriorit required very little oversight on our part. Their project manager interviewed our staff and then built out the requirements for the project. They sent me a scope of work based on those interviews, we finalized the plan, and then they executed on it. They work in .NET and Python.
What is the team composition?
We interact with the account and project managers and one developer when we need to talk about technical work.
How did you come to work with Apriorit?
They contacted me during a conference. They approached our booth and offered their services, and we selected them due to their experience with IT security. They know how to develop security features, they understand a vast range of technologies, and they can perform low-level debugging and reverse engineering.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $40,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began in April 2017, and we’re planning on having them launch additional projects.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They deliver on time, they’re responsive, and I’m happy with their work. We have a good partnership, and I’d work with them again. The code quality and dev work are decent, and if there are issues, they adapt accordingly.
How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?
They provide weekly updates as necessary, and they’re willing to have status phone calls when we ask. We mainly communicate via Skype, and we have a friendly relationship; they don’t require a lot of my attention. They provide full visibility to their progress and offer a post-delivery warranty to fix issues found afterward.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re dedicated to their clients. Instead of just asking for instructions, they work with the customer to build requirements and plans, which was helpful.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think so.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Have as many conversations as possible to be fully aligned so you can better focus on the product and development.

"“I’ve … worked with numerous developers, and Apriorit is far better than everybody else.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO of a security company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?
We were building an endpoint security detection product for Windows, but it’s difficult to create a quality, stable kernel-level driver. We wanted to find a partner who could help but who was also affordable.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our main goal was to create a solution for malware protection. Apriorit’s work is based on C++, and the current architecture is post-Vista, although it could easily be adapted for pre-Vista. The product uses the Windows driver development kit.
The only way to get certain crucial data is to be at the kernel level, and the only way to do it efficiently at runtime is at the kernel level. Over time, that evolved into our current problem, which is looking at defects in the actual kernel itself at Ring 0.
Typically, I describe my requirements, they come back with refinements, I approve, and then they develop and test it.  They deliver both the finished product as well as a comprehensive spreadsheet that describes the quality and stability tests of their end product release.
What is the team composition?
They assigned a kernel developer, a QA person, and a project manager. When we go through an engagement, I work with the project manager.
How did you come to work with Apriorit?
I was doing research online and I came across a paper they wrote. They had some sample code in it to test, and what they were delivering was far easier to consume than anything else I'd come across, and it spoke to their openness and depth of knowledge.
I reached out to them with a request for information, and I provided a high-level description of the problem we were trying to solve. They responded quickly and satisfied our first scope, so we increased it and they still satisfied. After that, we committed to a long-term engagement with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $95,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started in August 2016, and the partnership is ongoing. We plan to increase the scope of that contract substantially in the coming months.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We test the product against a series of platforms and then distribute it to our customer base. We trust their QA; we’ve had a trivial number of failures, and most are due to user error. The other problems are usually because we’ve asked them to basically invent something brand new, and there’s no reference for it. Even then, though, my customer satisfaction rate is extraordinary.
How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?
Apriorit always provides a clear timeline, and they never miss a deadline. They’re responsive and proactive, making recommendations and doing research without being asked and without charging extra.
We mainly communicate via email and sometimes Skype.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve been in this business for 20 years and worked with numerous developers, and Apriorit is far better than everybody else. They’re clear, articulate, and flexible. If I ask them to get on Skype, they will, even at odd hours. They take on urgent tasks immediately, and they’re honest about their skillsets and limitations.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I'm delighted with them. It's been a year and a half, and I have no complaints. They're incredibly fair people.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
To get the maximum value, develop a rapport and build test. The faster you do, the more open you’ll be able to be, and the more open you’re able to be, the faster you get quality results. They’ll deliver per specifications no matter what, but a good relationship means they’ll be comfortable offering more alternatives and suggestions, which are always helpful.

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I head up project development in the engineering department for a company that sells cloud content security products. Our platform brings together various standalone security products in the web, email, and cloud space into one unified dashboard.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?
We needed a partner with expertise in Windows operating systems, which we didn’t have as an in-house skill. Within our web security product, we had to develop an agent (Windows software that would run on standalone PCs) that would intercept web traffic. So, whenever anything made an outbound web request, we needed a way to intercept those requests and send them onto our cloud service to make a decision as to whether it was acceptable or not. This required a deep knowledge of the Windows environment and driver development, which was out of our comfort zone, so we searched for external help.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
When we started back in 2009, the process was simple: we prepared an initial scope of requirements list, and, as part of that initial analysis, Apriorit created a proof of concept (PoC) to determine the project’s feasibility.
Over the years, we’ve moved to other projects, like the Windows driver. it's a small piece of software that runs on your windows PC as a background service. As you use any software connecting out to the Internet, it intercepts the traffic, sending it to our cloud service where we analyze it and then approve its request or not. The driver provides web filtering service so that customers can, for example, block time-wasting sites or adult content at different times of the day. Apriorit’s technology lets us look for malware-infected websites or malware that might have triggered on the network, and it offers other functionalities like identifying users.
We recently had Apriorit build the same product but for Mac OS, and now we maintain those two products with them; we provide enhancements, bug fixes, and maintenance. We also have a small team responsible for our email security product, which is the other major project that we have.
The Windows product uses Visual C++, the Mac is Objective-C, and the email product is a C#.NET platform. Originally, we just had them writing code and we did QA ourselves, but we’ve started having them include QA in their team, and it’s worked out well.
What is the team composition?
We have a dedicated project manager who is our main point of contact and who takes care of the rest of the team. We have around eight developers on retainer, and I’ll usually deal with them directly if there’s a particularly complex issue that needs to be resolved.
How did you come to work with Apriorit?
We found them through a LinkedIn advertisement. I noticed they were skilled in low-level driver-related work, and a lot of other service providers focused on higher-level, which I didn’t need.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve spent around $1.5 million.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project started around June 2009, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We don't have official metrics, but they always do good work in a short amount of time.  They fix bugs quickly, and they properly maintain what’s already been built.
How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?
They're quite good at writing a brief, and they almost always deliver on their quoted estimate. The project manager emails me a weekly report, which lists what work each developer or QA people is doing so I can keep an eye on it. We predominantly use Jira, email, Skype, and Slack. I’ve visited them in person, as well, but they’re flexible in how you want to work and communicate with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They don't just do what you ask; they research the problem and your proposed solution. If they find a better idea, they’ll tell you, and that adds a lot of benefit to their work. Other agencies usually just deliver what you ask, regardless if they think it’ll work or not. Apriorit also knows how to communicate incredibly well.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They shouldn't be afraid to come forward and say if they need more resources. It would be good for them to be a bit more transparent on their limitations so that, as partners, we could work together to overcome any issues.  Overall, though, it’s been a good relationship.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Be clear with what you want to achieve because they’ll ask for details right away. You’ll need more than just broad brush strokes because they’re heavily engineer-focused, so you’ll need to point them in the exact right direction to best utilize their skills.

**The Review** — Nov 29, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: The team is flexible, professional, and knowledgeable, and their high level of competency is demonstrated by the length of the ongoing development partnership. The completed projects were well-received, with excellent quality assurance work from a team who were quick to pick up new skills.
"“[T]he fact that I’ve stuck with Apriorit for 4 years … is the best feedback I can give.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are developing solutions related to low-level development, security, and virtualization for Windows operating systems. I am the CEO and also in charge of the technical side.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We were looking for qualified development manpower.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We had an initial talk about our technical needs with their CEO, who is technical himself, after which they assigned a developer to us.

The initial engagement was around some specific Android, and later iOS, applications in the security field. Their work involved not just creating apps, but interacting with the operating system itself. Later on, they also helped us with other projects, for Chrome extensions, Windows, and Linux.

What is the team dynamic?

We initially had a one-person team and extended it to more and more members. We needed a burst of resources, and they were able to increase the team quickly, as well as decrease it back to normal after finishing the project.

We were assigned a project manager and interacted with the other people on the team as well. Currently, we have 3 resources — 2 part-time developers and a tester — plus the account manager, all of whom are housed at their offices.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

I had seen some articles published by their members on development sites, including some on Code Project. The content was in a field I was interested in, namely low-level development, close to hardware and drivers. I contacted a few people and companies and decided that Apriorit would be the best choice. I tested them, and it turned out to be true.

They did not require advance payment or a hard commitment from the start but rather trusted us.

How much have you invested with them?

The project size has been around $300,000 across 4 years. There have been times when the monthly cost was higher, and times when it was lower.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the collaboration in August 2013. The initial project finished, but we have been working on a monthly basis, since then.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have a contractor relationship, but I consider them to be a part of our team. Success is always a difficult thing to measure when it comes to product development, because it doesn’t directly translate into numbers. In general, I’ve worked with a variety of software development companies and the fact that I’ve stuck with Apriorit for 4 years, even though not an absolute proof, is the best feedback I can give.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

They never say no and have always been flexible and professional. Their project managers have taken away many of the headaches associated with software development and I’ve learned to trust that, if I require something from them, I will receive a reply and it will be done.

Their QA [quality assurance] people are excellent; I can give them any mission and they will figure out how to do it. Basically, they’re all capable of learning things on-the-fly, which is the most important part. Some deliverables took longer to complete, but we have had projects requiring research, so the results would have been the same for many other teams.

We used to have Skype calls, but I changed it to email communication as I think it’s a better approach. Their written English is good, but phone conversations can be a bit more challenging or rather require more effort.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to learn things as they go. I’ve worked with developers from around the world and Apriorit is my top choice. They are the only contracting developer I’m still working with.

I’ve tried using other parties, not because I was unhappy with them, but because I needed additional, unrelated product development. After trying a Ukrainian company, I made the decision to move that project to Apriorit too.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really. Whenever there was an issue, I mentioned it to them, and they fixed it.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

It’s important to create a good connection with each team member and not to deal with them as just another outsourcing group where you only communicate with the project managers. Giving feedback to each team member individually, not keeping too much distance, and asking questions are important. The account manager shouldn’t be the only contact.

Apriorit’s work has been so successful that the internal team was been phased out and they are now the sole developers. The team is responsive and communicative, providing great customer service.
""Apriorit has always been conscientious and customer-centric."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We offer an enhanced CRM [customer relationship management] designed for the indirect channel retail process of major satellite, cable, and internet providers. I was the president of the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We wanted to find a comprehensive outsourced solution.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Apriorit provided enhancements to our web CRM. It was a 13-year-old application, so it was completely refactored. We also set up a full research and development team that was responsible for creating new features.

Apriorit offered a business analyst, project managers, developers, and a quality assurance team housed within one area. They were responsible for code quality and deployment schedules. Apriorit provided us a turnkey and cost effective solution. They met all of their objectives and worked efficiently, with fewer errors than our domestic engineers.

Initially, Apriorit worked in collaboration with our in-house engineers, but we ended up replacing our internal team entirely.

We worked with a total of 11 people from Apriorit. I mainly interacted with the business analyst and project managers. Other people from our company also interacted with the engineers, given that we drive the workforce allocation.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We met Apriorit as a personal referral from someone who had been happy with the results achieved by Apriorit. We had an interview with their company and decided to assign a test project for one developer. We then moved up to 2 developers across different 2 projects and then expanded to bug fixing, research and development, and quality assurance activities.

How much have you invested with Apriorit?

We have spent $50,000 per month on Apriorit's services for the last 2 years.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have been working with Apriorit for over 2 years.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Subjectively, I can say that releases were always made on-time. The feature load was as expected. Apriorit had nominal staff turnover and they always handled retraining and sourcing for their resources.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

We made releases every 2 weeks and were moving towards continuous delivery. Apriorit's pace was phenomenal.

We used Gemini Tracker from Countersoft, which is similar to Jira. All tickets were entered into this system, prioritized into our sprints, and moved through the development process. We used the tool for release scheduling.

What did you find most impressive about Apriorit?

Apriorit accommodated us through an 8-9-hour time zone shift. We also appreciated their ability to communicate in English, take directions and ask questions, without following requirements blindly. If something did not make sense, Apriorit wouldn't simply build it. They would ask questions and remain proactive in engaging the product owner. Apriorit has always been conscientious and customer-centric. I visited their offices 4 times during our 2-year collaboration and found Apriorit's team to be very personable. Apriorit has a 300-person team, so they have a great breadth of resources.

I also appreciated Apriorit's ability to understand requirements. We built a very complex CRM, which was actually a combination of an ERP [enterprise resource planning], POS [point of sale], and CRM. It had a highly coupled stack. Apriorit's ability to understand a 13-year-old legacy application, and maintaining and enhancing it, was completely superior.

Apriorit is based in Dnipro, Ukraine, which manages its own internet and electrical power. This meant that we never had challenges with internet connectivity.

Are there any areas Apriorit could improve?

Any customer looking to hire Apriorit should have a good product vision and strategy. The pace that Apriorit's business analysis, project management, and quality assurance teams can run at can be staggering. We had trouble keeping them busy, and Apriorit kept churning out deliverables at remarkable quality.

Having a product owner act as a single voice is also important. These are all normal business practices. The most valuable factor for us was an 18-month vision phase, followed by month-to-month looks at our strategy and what marketable features we wanted to deploy. We built requirements and tests accordingly.

""We've created one of the best products on the market, thanks partly to Apriorit and their dedication to quality."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We build software which competes with Citrix and VMware, utilizing remote desktop protocols. I was the project lead while working with Apriorit.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We originally contacted Apriorit because we needed a developer with experience in networking and display protocols. They had done a lot of reverse engineering in this area and it was one of the things that Apriorit initially touted. We had been doing this kind of work ourselves and needed to expand our team in a cost-effective way.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We build our own software. Apriorit provided development for iOS, Android, Mac, and Linux, creating what we called a connector, which established remote connections to our backend servers. Apriorit is in charge of the client piece of our software. We also have a Windows-based component, which is developed in-house.

Apriorit helped us add some protocol enhancements, like flash and USB redirection. These components go across all connective versions. Apriorit built both the server and client pieces for various connectors.

Apriorit also provided a good bit of quality assurance work for us. At its peak, my team was comprised of 60% in-house resources and 40% resources from Apriorit. They accounted for almost half of our team. At most, Apriorit provided us with an 18-person team, split between development and quality assurance, almost in half, but favoring the development side.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We found Apriorit through online research. We have worked with 4 different companies, settling on Apriorit after around a year. We had been working on other items before finding Apriorit, which didn't turn out very well. We came to identify Apriorit as the best option, started working with them and gradually expanded their involvement. We have had a good relationship with Apriorit's owner. He has always been very flexible, has had good ideas, and made sure that the Apriorit team was made up of smart people, up-to-date with various technologies used by companies. It has been very difficult for us to imagine starting again with another contracting firm. The technology we've worked on was quite unique, and Apriorit also learned a lot by working on the project with us. To spin this back up with another team would have taken us at least a year, without a guarantee that we'd receive the same level of competence.

How much have you invested with Apriorit?

The cost of Apriorit's services has come up to 1 million dollars per year, for the last 3-4 years.

What is the status of this engagement?

We initially got in touch with Apriorit 8 years ago.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

We've had a good overall relationship with Apriorit. It was a bit rocky in the beginning. We started out doing project-based work, but it was not a well-managed process. We threw some tasks at Apriorit, asking for ports to Mac or Linux for example, without giving them a lot of clarity. We created a bit of a headache for ourselves, making branches of code which quickly became diverged. We came to assign a development leader to the project in order to get things back to a single codebase. This helped us a lot. We started having bi-weekly meeting with Apriorit's team and they came to work as an extension of our team from that point on, as opposed to doing project work. We've been working like this for the last 5 years.

Apriorit's leader has also been very good at failing. Staff turnover has been very light, with only 5 developer changes during the last 8 years. Most of the people we're working with at the moment have been around since the beginning. Retaining those people for that long has been amazing. Most of them are relatively young, which means that they want to move their careers quickly. When we did lose a team member, Apriorit's principal has made sure that we'd have a good person to fill the spot, with similar skills.

We've been working on the same project with Apriorit from the start, namely building the connectors for our solution, making incremental improvements. We've created one of the best products on the market, thanks partly to Apriorit and their dedication to quality. Our product has recently gone into maintenance mode due to our company being acquired by a former competitor.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

Apriorit was very good in terms of meeting deadlines. They were an extension of our team, so Apriorit operated more in lines with this relationship, as opposed to doing project-based work. We kept release schedules which Apriorit always respected, delivering good quality.

We used Team Foundation Server as our main collaboration tool for all aspects of the project, including bug tracking. I know that Apriorit uses other tools internally as well.

What did you find most impressive about Apriorit?

What is distinct about Apriorit's practice is the level of very highly skilled developers, not only in terms of app or database builders, but across numerous technologies. Apriorit is very good at creating low-level protocols for security, being able to work at OS level. I appreciated Apriorit's depth of knowledge and skill.

Are there any areas Apriorit could improve?

We have learned that if work is going to be contracted to a third party, the project scope needs to be well-defined. If we gave Apriorit something which was open-ended or had ambiguities, we sometimes didn't receive what we wanted and had to unwind what was built. It worked better for us to bring in Apriorit as a part of our team, as opposed to simply doing project-based work. Our kind of development didn't fit very well with the latter approach. We needed people on our team which were capable of making decisions and incremental improvements through experimentation and trial-and-error. It wasn't the type of work that we could hand off to Apriorit and have them create a magical outcome or improve something by 35%, if we didn't know that the goal was really possible. We only used Apriorit as a traditional contractor in the beginning, but ended up changing the way in which we worked, which turned out better for us.

""From end to end, they take projects on and don't allow for gaps or miscommunications."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a software development company working for fulfillment-based businesses, specifically those handling installations and sales. This can include direct TV, security systems, and so on. I'm the vice president of development.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with Apriorit?

We needed to find a group of engineers that could work on our products. We have our own United States-based team, but wanted another one within a different time zone, that could work on issues through the night. We were trying to improve our efficiency by adapting that method but didn't want to go through the process of hiring new on-site staff for those off-hours. Outsourcing seemed like the best alternative.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Apriorit helped us with all sides of development. We are working with a business analyst from Apriorit who is in charge of our designs. We hire out developers and project managers from Apriorit as well as quality assurance testers. At peak capacity, we've worked with 13 to 15 resources from Apriorit.

We've worked on multiple projects with Apriorit, all for the same software platform. We have developed an ERP [enterprise resource planning], data-driven, software-as-a-service solution. It does everything from inventorying to HR, payroll, and job management. It integrates with other providers and runs billing for customers, acting as an end-to-end solution.

Apriorit is in charge of integrating APIs [application programming interfaces] based on the requirements set by our internal team. Apriorit doesn't work directly with third parties.

How did you come to work with Apriorit?

We tried multiple different solutions, and Apriorit's was the first one that worked for us. We spent two weeks on-site with their team two years ago. After an initial six-month collaboration, we saw that we would have a successful relationship and decided that it would be advantageous to meet the engineers and project managers from Apriorit in-person. It was beneficial to us to understand their culture. We plan to visit Apriorit again in October [2016].

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The total development cost with Apriorit so far has been around $1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We have been working with Apriorit for three years.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Apriorit has a dedicated, hardworking team. They're always willing to work extra hours and work on holidays if we have an issue. I have nothing but great things to say about the engineers and our project manager from Apriorit. Whenever I bring something up, such as performance issues with a certain resource, Apriorit will be quick to either fix the situation or find another person for our team.

Apriorit keeps internal metrics on engineer productivity, which is quite astounding. They work hard to ensure that every member is productive. Apriorit definitely does not like not having enough work. We have dedicated developers who we engage for a full month, regardless if we have enough work for them or not. Our project manager has been good at pushing us to provide enough work to fill those resources' time, so no one will be idle, even though we pay for that time just the same.

Apriorit writes good-quality code. Our business analyst in particular is absolutely amazing. She is dedicated, driven, and I couldn't ask for someone better. The amount of story points that we've gotten every month, compared to onshore engineers, is much higher at Apriorit. Their velocity and capabilities are excellent.

How did Apriorit perform from a project management standpoint?

Apriorit's team speaks English well, which allows me to talk to every one of our resources at least three times each week. They're able to collaborate with our user acceptance tester and our agile support manager about every issue.

We have safeguards on our side through which we ensure that schedules are kept. Our work cycles are only two weeks long, so we're a very rapid deployment company. There has never been a big solution that took Apriorit six months to complete before we saw anything. They've always been very good at staying on time. We use a ticketing software called Countersoft and also have a homegrown solution for project tracking.

What distinguishes Apriorit from other providers?

From end to end, Apriorit takes projects on and doesn't allow for gaps or miscommunications. From our business analyst to the quality assurance tester, Apriorit makes sure that the cycle is consistent and well laid out. This has been the biggest difference between them and other companies. Apriorit has never let the ball drop and always made sure that the solution was ready. Apriorit's team has a lot of pride in their work, which has shown.

Is there anything Apriorit could have improved or done differently?

We always experienced issues, but this is the nature of the business. Every month, we have a retrospective meeting with Apriorit, talking about development environments and the cycles themselves, and how they could have been made better. We consistently make changes, and Apriorit has been very adaptive and open to talk about problems they've seen from their side, coming up with solutions for this. We have worked together collaboratively in order to make sure that we have the best environment possible. Particular engineers have performed below the level we expected. Apriorit was quick to resolve the situation.

Clients looking to work with Apriorit should consider shorter release cycles and constant communication with engineers. The biggest reason for our success has been that we haven't simply thrown Apriorit a project and walked away from it. We have an agile support manager and have daily standup meetings with Apriorit, involving our onshore engineers, product managers and the agile support manager. We never simply throw Apriorit a project and walk away. We have resources dedicated to managing the relationship, ensuring that the standard agile practices are in place.

One time, we ran into an issue that wasn't calculated, but their team handled it very well and took part of the responsibility. The blockchain world is very new, so this is also a very new project for them. However, they've done very well, and they've offered compensation when something goes wrong. Moreover, Appriorit's communication is very good. They've been in constant communication with our team, which is great. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?I would like to give a shout-out to Olha (Delivery Manager). She's very kind and always ready to help, and she's a great English speaker. Serhii (Senior Web Developer) is also very smart and knowledgeable. Moreover, I would also give a shout-out to Maryna (R&D Delivery Manager). What did you find most impressive about them? The knowledge behind Apriorit's work is outstanding. We've come up with an idea, and they've directly adapted and helped us find a solution to make that idea a reality, which is very good. Are there any areas they could improve? There's nothing they could improve on.Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?Get a clear idea and make a list of what you want to build with Apriorit because, apart from blockchain development, they can do other projects like websites and apps. ## Portfolio & Awards

### Cross-Platform SBOM for Cybersecurity Product
SITUATION
As automated dependency management becomes a necessity, a global cybersecurity software vendor wanted to get ahead of legal/regulatory and buyer expectations.
Their product had to meet strict compliance requirements, as it serves enterprise customers and organizations operating in regulated industries. So they entrusted the Apriorit team with strategizing and executing SBOM automation for their cybersecurity platform.
SOLUTION
The Apriorit team planned the SBOM implementation for the client and delivered:

Automated SBOM generation across all technology stacks, integrated into the CI/CD pipeline as weekly builds

Centralized vulnerability tracking with automatic Jira issue creation for newly discovered CVEs

On-demand compliance reports and SBOM exports in required formats for enterprise customers

A functional strategy for addressing detected vulnerabilities depending on the impact of fixes

IMPACT
What previously required days of manual preparation and was error-prone is now automatically generated in minutes.
The client’s team no longer has to handle dependency issues that were first discovered only during procurement. Potential vulnerabilities are now detected early and appear as Jira tickets, which are addressed through the normal development process.
With SBOM integration in place, the client is now more compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act and DORA.

### Integration Research with Reverse Engineering
Situation
A company that develops drones that automate visual and thermal inspections of critical infrastructure faced challenges integrating their screen‑mirroring functionality with a closed proprietary platform widely used by their customers.
Because the developer of the proprietary target platform does not provide device firmware, source code, or documentation, the client required a reliable method to achieve integration and contacted Apriorit.
Solution
After initial research of the target platform, Apriorit team determined that their reverse engineers needed to analyze the handshake mechanism with key exchange used specifically for screen mirroring. Their findings would serve as a basis for the future development of custom functionality.
As Apriorit started firmware reverse engineering, they discovered that the handshake protocol used in the proprietary platform was complex and involved numerous undocumented functions. The firmware used RTSP for screen mirroring, WebSockets for trusted authentication, and QUIC to improve the speed of stream transmission.
Using these findings, Apriorit built a PoC for a screen mirroring protocol that performed a full handshake process with the target device.
Impact
Using Apriorit’s prototype as the basis for their solution, the drone development company designed a clear roadmap for developing device screen mirroring functionality and ensured reliable integration.
This improvement boosted their sales and solidified their position in the industry.

### Securing IP with Reverse Engineering
Situation
Our client specializes in automation software for heavy industrial machinery. They were looking for a cybersecurity team that could assess the level of intellectual property protection for their DLL files. In particular, they wanted a team that could:

Determine whether the source code could be easily restored from compiled file

Accurately estimate the time, skills, and effort required to recover application logic

Suggest ways to enhance IP protection and make logic recovery more challenging or impossible

Solution
With the help of manual file analysis and reverse engineering, the Apriorit team recovered both file and software logic from the provided DLLs. We also found a way to automate our approach and showed the client practical ways in which a threat actor could steal IP from their software.
The kind of research the client was looking for required significant reverse engineering expertise. Another challenge was the fact that the client’s DLL files were written in Python and differed significantly in their structure from typical C++ compiled files, which made it impossible to use automated reversing and code analysis tools.
Impact
The Apriorit team helped the client understand security issues in their software and vulnerabilities that may cause IP leaks or theft. We provided an assessment of the software’s current security level and an automated pipeline to reverse engineer files.
Based on our research, we offered ways to improve the client’s software security with more reliable obfuscation algorithms. The client already plans to work with us on their next cybersecurity project.

### Developing a Decentralized Asset Market on Tezos
SITUATION
Our client is a US-based company delivering smart contracts, crypto wallets, and other tools for blockchain-based financial solutions. Previously, Apriorit blockchain experts performed a security audit of one of their blockchain solutions. Satisfied with our level of expertise and the quality of results delivered, the client entrusted Apriorit with their new project.

The client asked us to create a Tezos-based marketplace with decentralized governance on which users could freely and securely borrow and lend crypto assets. They had a general idea of the market’s concept and wanted to know more about the technical requirements.
SOLUTION
Apriorit formed a team of blockchain developers experienced in building blockchain solutions and writing Tezos smart contracts. Our team started with analyzing the client’s requirements and different options for crypto asset market implementation to finalize a concept suitable for the Tezos blockchain.

Then, we designed the platform architecture and developed a blockchain asset market’s test version containing the core functionality and contracts.
IMPACT
With a test version of their crypto asset market, our client can now evaluate core functionality and better understand their vision for further platform improvements to build a useful and competitive product.

Apriorit’s blockchain developers also created several scripts to speed up and automate the deployment of new smart contracts and testing of changes. In this way, it will be much easier for the client to maintain and improve their platform in the future.

### Custom Driver Solution for Blocking USB Devices
Situation
Our client is a leading US-based provider of advanced encryption solutions for protecting sensitive data and intellectual property. To enhance their enterprise product, they needed a driver for blocking restricted USB devices on both Windows and macOS.
Solution
After discussing all the details, Apriorit formed a dedicated expert team and outlined four main stages of the project development. During these stages, we managed to:

Adjust our raw driver solution for Windows
Add new features to the Windows driver
Develop the macOS driver
Create a custom application for Macs with M1 processors

One of the biggest challenges was to create a kextless application for computers with M1 processors, since they didn’t support the macOS driver we built earlier. After some research, we developed a new custom solution that worked flawlessly.
Impact
Thanks to the Apriorit team, our client enriched their enterprise software with the ability to block a wide range of USB devices based on sets of rules. The custom driver keeps the computer working if rules contradict each other and is compatible with the client’s other solutions.
The delivered driver increased both the value of the client’s product and sales. We continue supporting the client’s USB blocking solution and adding new features at the client’s request.

### Improving a Windows Audio Driver to Obtain a WHQL
SITUATION
Our client, IRIS, is a London-based audio technology company delivering AI-powered products that enhance the quality of compressed audio. They wanted to improve an audio driver for a Windows version of their noise canceling application and obtain a WHQL release signature for that driver.
SOLUTION
Apriorit formed a team of expert Windows software developers, a quality assurance specialist, and a business analyst. Our business analyst worked with the client to outline the core set of requirements for this project. Then, we implemented the client’s requests in four steps:

WHLK/WHQL testing of the driver
Pre-release debugging of the driver
Implementation of a new UI for the app
Stabilization and optimization of the app

Once the driver successfully passed all WHLK/WHQL tests, the client was able to release their noise-canceling application for Windows.
After the release, the Apriorit team continued working on the application’s stabilization and optimization.
IMPACT
Working with the Apriorit team, IRIS obtained a WHQL release signature for the Windows audio driver of their AI-powered noise canceling application. Through close cooperation with the client’s internal teams, our specialists improved the performance, functionality, and design of the Windows application while keeping it in sync with the macOS version. The Apriorit team also added localization, which enabled IRIS to reach out to even more Windows users across the globe.
Currently, our experts continue to support and maintain the Windows version of the app, improving its security and performance on a regular basis.
