Our goal was to build an MVP and proceed with the next version right after a release.

The project was to buil an MVP. We had just a rough wireframes and needed a design and requirement elicitation phases to proceed to the development. After this, we had a development stage using Scrum. During the development, we involved QA to test everything and iteratively moved to the realease. We are on the final stage and will release it soon.

We had Business Analyst, Designer, Project Manager, QA, 2 App developers and a Backend developer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We successfully built the App and just fine tuning it to be brilliant before the final release. Our investors see the progress and also happy with how it goes so far.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Appvales outsourced most of the work and we just had to be presented on Sprint planning sessions to share our vision and discuss ways of realization.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Communication and transperancy. They are always very responsive and can go the extra mile to achieve results.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We haven't notice anything. Just to continue deliver in the way they do it now.

We have an existing webapp for teaching math in Denmark, and we need to convert this into a native app to reach more students. We therefore needed it to be very performant and user friendly.

We need to develop a cross platform native app as quickly as possible from the required specs. This required among others to integrate a tricky JS library for advanced math.

We started out with a written interview and shared some of the more advanced stuff we wanted to make, to make sure they understood the technical scope of the solution and then we went to oral interviews. Here we shared the design mockups and heard their thoughts. After the selection process, we sat down to plan sprints.

We have most of the team in house, and needed out-staffing coding capabilities. So we got an app developer assigned to work along side our internal team.

The app is by this moment on its way to the app store in the next week, and the project has so far been successfully executed. No delays and good working relationship.

Max and his team showed from the start clear communication and came off as professional. That made them stand out. The assigned developer have great communication skills and we work effectively together. It is not always easy to drop in to a new team.

We were looking for a partner who will help us to take onboard our product and proceed the development due to our functional and nonfunctional requirements. We had no capacity to cover such kind of development + we were looking for a team capable of React Native and PHP expertise.

We already had expertise working with estern europe outsourcing providers. Unfortunately our usual partner was not able to rapidly staff the development team. They are very committed to the job and are also reliable partners, maybe this is most impressive.

The most important thing for us is to have Appvales hiring great people so that we could proceed working on amazing products together.

APPVALES took care of the frontend for us. They used React Native to develop a mobile app that works on Android and iOS.

I had several interviews with several companies, and APPVALES was the most honest and most solid.

So far, we’ve spent around $8,000, and when the project is complete, it will be over $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our collaboration started at the beginning of October 2020, and we’re still working together. The collaboration will probably end in a few weeks.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of service has been very high. They delivered exactly what they promised, which is rare in this type of field, and I’m very happy with their service.

How did APPVALES perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Slack and meet once a week or more if required through Zoom. They have been perfect with project management and have fulfilled every deadline as promised. The team even goes a bit beyond that and sometimes delivers early as well. We use Jira to track things.

What did you find most impressive about them?

APPVALES has been honest from the beginning of the project and has delivered what they promised would be delivered. They told us when our expectations were not realistic. They are reliable and honest, which is very important to us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, it has been a very good experience.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go ahead and work with them. This is one of the few decisions I don’t regret when it comes to my business.

We published a job post on UpWork and shortlisted 3 out of them. After conversations and proposals with all three, we decided to go with AppVales. Deciding factors were: their portfolio and experience in similar projects, English proficiency, and quote.

Initial contact was with Max, the CEO of the company. After that, almost all communication went through Kii, the project manager assigned with our project.

Our application is still in the development phase.

Both CEO and the project manager were easy to communicate with and accessible, they were sending us weekly reports and were available for phone calls if and when needed. I must emphasize that they stay available despite the Russian Invasion, and did everything they possibly could to keep our project on track.

They are really great bunch of guys with a lot of experience and knowledge in what they are doing. They are boutique-style IT company and they are dedicated to the project they are working on.

Nothing till now.

I found them on Upwork, and chose them based on the presentation letters as well as previous work down.

It is a React Native app, to be available for Android and iOS. The first steps was to upgrade React Native, then dependencies that were too old, and then to resolve a number of bugs we had identified. There was also a small UI update.

We interacted with a project leader, and two other developers working on the product.

In February, the new version was released to Google Play and App Store, and the bugs were resolved at that time.

We communicated through Slack, normally in writing, but sometimes voice calls were preferred.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were patient with looking in the "legacy code", which has been worked on by previous developers, and was not always the easiest code to jump into to continue development.

I think both sides would have preferred using a issue tracker/system as a base tool.
