Design and develop a replacement mobile app to complement our existing web app. We provided a copy of our existing mobile app, a functional and non-functional brief, some API documentation to integrate into our systems and our style guidelines and asked for the app to be fully redesigned and developed from the ground up. We required the external developers to work closely with our internal technical team throughout the process and for a final hand-over to be given including a complete test suite and CI/CD pipelines.

NewMark has been developing an information system for a forestry company for years. One part of this system is a mobile application used by employees on the field. NewMark provides the project management, including project ownership and the backend development. The continuous delivery model is used, adding new features to the app in every iteration. The PO clarifies the requirements with the client and prepares the feature packages and the design for the developers.
After each iteration, the new version of the app is delivered to the client. The client's feedback are included into one of the next iterations. A native mobile app is developed in Java for Android. There's a standard REST API on the server. The app can work offline too and synchronize with the server whenever the net connection is restored.

Our company and APPFORTE worked together on a blockchain application for then Hungarian National Bank. We provided the backbone of the system, while APPFORTE developed the mobile client for endusers. It is an edutainment app to increase the financial awareness in the Hungarian population. Our goal was to make the project satisfactory for the Hungarian National Bank, and for this we needed a cooperating, well prepared, experienced mobile app supplier to finish the project in time, in excellent quality.
As it was a public procurement, it was very important to finish the project in time. Both android and iOs app versions had to be developed.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We searched mobile app providers in Hungary, obtained more offers. Based on the recommendation of one of our colleagues, we also requested an offer from APPFORTE. After interviewing with APPFORTE and receiving their offer we decided to select them for the project as mobile app supplier.

We had continous meetings with APPORTE and Hungarian National Bank together to define exactly the needs of Hungarian National Bank in respect of design of mobile app and the operation of the mobile app in a very secured IT environment. In the specification the technical conditions were defined more or less exactly, but during the project planning many issues accured both in case of the backend part of the project and the mobile app, which had to be solved somehow.
As the project is a blockchain based solution and the Hungarian National Bank had not got any previous experience in such project it was essential to work closely with them and also with APPFORTE.

We had a main contact from APPFORTE side, who was quasi the project manager on APPFORTE side. We also had direct contact with 2-3 mobile app developer.

Some month after launch of the project , the app has a 4,5 star rating. Incorrect operation because of the mobile app part had not occured. Most of the errors occured in the backend of the solution. Since deployment to production environment, the app has more than 5.000 users registered.

With the APPFORTE team it was very easy to communicate with. We always got continous update of the mobile app part. We had many personal and online meetings. Generally everething was delivered in the agreed deadline.

They were in contact with us continously, always participated in the necessary meetings both with us and Hungarian National Bank. Before we’ve worked with AppForte. we had a try to develop a MVP of the app, but faced some real difficulties on that. So,we decided to contact Appfrote, and had some meetings together where they asked questions to understand better what product I wanted to create and which problems I was trying to solve,and after signing the NDA, both sides agree to start the project: where Appfrote is to work on the development of the app in Flutter from scratch, and they also have some suggestions to improve the UX and streamlining the user flow. During the 4–6-week design process, they simplified the terms to help understand what it would take to create the app. they started with the development when the UI/UX design. We also bounced ideas off of each other, and they helped me define some aspects in areas where I was unsure of things so we could take my idea to the highest level possible. The early work included the development itself, the testing made by their developers, the test cases that cover the required functionality and bugfix during the 3 months test period. This will be a cross-platform app, available for both Android and iOS systems, and also the backend website testing.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have a great app ready to go, and by far, we are satisfied with how it turned out. We also have a clear strategy for launching and doing the required developing to grow the brand.It gives us a sense of legitimacy and trustworthiness, which is important as a startup.

The quality of work that comes out at an accelerated timeline has been great. It just surprises me how efficient everything is.

Appforte works as a collaborative network. I personally we contacted through one of the owner, and I can say that the team has a wide breadth of knowledge that ranges from design to development. Yes, i think they need to work on improving the brand image of their business, this can happens with different ways such as:
Getting their website right,
Asking for customers feedback and/or
Targeting customers in other parts of Europe by expanding their business to new markets.

We areed on a GANTT chart at the beginning of the project which was fullfilled.
