I hired Animink to make updates and improvements to my e-commerce website built on Magento.
How did you come to work with Animink?
I found Animink online and like their presentation.
How much have you invested with Animink?
[No total amount provided.] Animink required half of the money down at the beginning, and we paid the balance when the project was done. Once I found out that it was going to cost $3,000 to fix their mistakes, Animink wouldn’t give me a refund. I’m currently trying to get my money back through my credit card company.
What is the status of this engagement?
I first engaged Animink in May 2016. The project was supposed to be complete in July, but it wasn’t finished until October.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Their work was a nightmare. Literally, our shopping cart was selling the product for free. Inventory was disappearing, and shipping was always messed up. The store would go down, and the shipping prices were never accurate. My customers called complaining that they couldn’t check out, or that there was no price attached to the products.
We advertise on multiple websites, and all the links we had set up got wiped out. They were supposed to go to our landing page, but they weren’t going anywhere.
Animink wanted to expand the project into SEO [search engine optimization] work, and I asked for references from them for that type of work. Animink gave me two, but when I contacted the people, I got the sense that the references were staged.

When I called Animink, they could never explain to me what was going on.
What did you find most impressive about Animink?
The whole business relationship with Animink was a disaster.

I wasn’t happy with anything they did.

When we didn't want to send our listener to iTunes to buy our comedy tracks, Animink built us our own propriatory online store where our listeners can search through our massive archive of more than 10,000 tracks and purchase their favorites directly.
When we didn't want to send our video traffic to YouTube, they built us our own streaming video player, complete with our own private ad revenue placement. They have done so much more for us, but space here limits how much I can relate.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
From beginning to end, the entire process of building our new company website ran smoothly. Once the initial design concept was dialed in, the build and page editing was turned around quickly by the ability to comment directly on each page with changes, new ideas, etc. This website also has a client login feature; the team transferred over 500 existing accounts from the old site to the new one without our clients having to be re-registered.

Superb! One person from the team was established as the primary point of contact for all communication on the project. However the entire design/coding team could follow what requests were being made with the "community" comment board the team used on the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They operated at a much higher level of professionalism compared to the previous website designer we used. We hired experts in this field as we are not at that is exactly what we received. Great communication from anyone we had encounters with, timely turnaround throughout, and creative suggestions for a fresher design are just a few of the highlights.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Animink could have done differently?
Nothing. We continue to work with them on two completed projects for maintenance and updates, and hope to begin a rebuild of two more sites in the near future in order to serve our clients better.
