What challenge were you trying to address with Anideos?

I hired Anideos to provide digital animation and screenplay writing services for a digital short video project. Initially, I only wanted to hire them for a book I wanted to write, but instead, we decided to pursue the digital short.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I initially provided Anideos' team with the story for the animation I wanted them to create. I also provided my vision for the characters' look and the screenplay. From there, they've made the animations and storyboard and have done some audio mixing for the background music. I've also provided some of the music for Anideos to use for the intro section of the video. 

Once the project is done, it will be available on Youtube. The overall goal is to take it to a more exclusive platform, but we're still working on generating interest for that.

How did you come to work with Anideos?

I found Anideos on Thumbtack after searching for book illustrators. Other companies I found on Thumbtack had hit-or-miss reviews, but Anideos had a lot of good reviews.

So far, I've invested around $500 with Anideos, anticipating that it will take double that to get the first episode off the ground. 

What is the status of this engagement?

This ongoing project with Anideos began in April 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

At the end of the engagement, per our contract, I will have full ownership of anything Anideos creates regarding the development of the story we're working on now. I've had a very nice collaboration with Anideos — they've gone out of their way to be customer-service-focused and provide me with well-developed products. 

How did Anideos perform from a project management standpoint?

Anideos has met every deadline they've placed. We mostly communicate through email and phone calls, but they prepare project updates through Google Docs. However, we're still very early in the process and may use more technologies during the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Anideos is more established in the industry than I am, but Harris has been a consummate professional. He's going out of his way to provide next-level service to bridge the gap between our experience levels. I've been nothing but pleased with the entire experience. Anideos is very responsive and understanding, making them stand out from other vendors. Anyone would be hard-pressed to find another company that provides more value in terms of the whole customer experience. They provide exactly what clients want, which distinguishes them from their competitors. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Maybe down the line, I'll have a few suggestions of what Anideos can improve, but at this point, I have nothing for them to improve.

For what projects/services did your company hire Anideos, and what were your goals?

Produce animated sequences for two videos, including storyboards and animation. Goal was decent quality animation that followed the art style and direction of the project, and meeting the tight project timeline.

Anideos had availability to start right away and was convincing about meeting project timelines

Sales person did not explain full scope of work. Once I was passed over to a project manager, the full scope of work was discussed and project budget increased.

Vincent (project manager). He was amicable to work with, but there were communication challenges as some emails and communication seemed to have been missed all together that resulted in animation that wasn't following direction and causing delays in the delivery timeline.

1 on 1 communication with project manager over email. Project manager I assume was then directing their animator(s), who may have been in another country or timezone. This caused some communication challenges as specific points and files in the emails were missed and had to be repeated multiple times after seeing work that was not following direction

They have a network of animators at different price points, and are available to start on short notice. Good for selection

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

• Better communication about total project scope and budget at the sales stage
• Following all direction for the project that was communicated to them
• Meeting strict project timeline and milestones - they were too lenient with their timeline and not valuing the client's timeline needs

I recently started a company with a few other co-founders. We’re producing an application that works within legal services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Anideos?

We needed an animation team to help us create content for marketing.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We outlined three and a half minutes of video content for the scope of work, which broke down into several short videos. Within the three and a half minutes allotted, we have three 20-second videos, one 60-second video, and one 90-second video. The shorter ones are for social media and email marketing, while the longer videos are for our splash pages and demos inside the application. 

The videos are all pretty similar in style. The short videos all showcase how our produce solves problems in the market. The 60-second video goes further in-depth on our services for customers looking to learn more about us. The 90-second video details exactly who we are and how to use the product. It functions as a how-to video for our product. All the videos are 2D motion graphics animations with some screencasts of our app.

We directly worked with Harris (Senior Consultant), who acted as our project manager. He was responsible for relaying our requirements to his larger team of animators, scriptwriters, and more. 

How did you come to work with Anideos?

We did a Google search for marketing animation video producers. I found a website that allowed me to fill out an inquiry form for the project. Anideos reached out to me following that, and we ended up choosing them following a brief pause on our end.  

How much have you invested with them?

They offered us a promotional rate for signing a contract with them when we did. The offer was $1,400 for three minutes of video. We expanded the contract to three and a half minutes, but they offered the extra 30 seconds of video at no additional cost. We’ve made changes to the scope of the project a few times, but that hasn’t affected the cost. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since September 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their team has effectively handled all of our visual marketing in preparation for our first launch. We don’t know how it will translate yet, but we’re hoping for the best. They’re always on board with our feedback, willing to redo scripts and animations at no additional cost to our business. If there are any issues in quality, they’re always immediately resolved through notes and feedback we provide.   

How did Anideos perform from a project management standpoint?

Harris has been great to work with. He’s been kind, supportive, and willing to gracefully take and implement feedback. Harris is constantly giving us ideas on how to make our projects better, even if it will add more time or cost on their end. They care about making our projects better.

Additionally, he’s always available. If I call him, he picks up 90% of the time. If he doesn’t, I get a quick text back saying that he’ll get back to me soon. He’s very responsive. 

In terms of the project material itself, we always receive deliverables very quickly. Whether it’s a new script, storyboard, or video, they typically deliver within two days of our request. That’s super fast for the animation industry. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Sometimes, when you ask providers to change something, there can be resistance because of time or cost concerns. This was never the case with Anideos. They’re always willing to accept changes to scope or feedback from our team. As far as these types of changes go, they’re willing to make fixes without applying additional charges. That’s a big deal for us.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t say anything negative about this company. However, it may be helpful for them to make a quality check on their work before giving us completed material. There have been small details that have been off in some of the videos, which they’ve always corrected quickly. However, it would be ideal to not have to make the requests for changes in the first place.  

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ask for a promotion deal or offer. During negotiations, they were very flexible and willing to offer us better rates. I’d also recommend asking for Harris because he’s great to work with. I can’t imagine there’s anyone better to have as a project manager.

I am the CEO of the ARound Robin Production Company, a content creation company which provides media for nonprofits and other companies who need to promote their message.

As head of the company, I also direct and produce multiple films that are screened around the United States.

For what projects/services did your company hire Anideos?

I hired Anideos to provide specific animation for an explanation portion of a documentary film.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed two animated "explainer" clips corresponding with an interview subject who was describing a specific practice from the 1950s in the United States.

How did you select Anideos?

I did research and put in a request through Bark and received a callback from Anideos.

Once I selected the vendor, I received a questionnaire about the project. Once I filled out the form, I explained in more detail what the project was and what was expected. My team put together clip art and edited two videos to explain what we needed.

We also provided a detailed explanation of the project, drew a diagram (with more clip art) and also edited a version of what we wanted. We then went back and forth until the final product was delivered.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a project manager, Khurram, who was always willing to help. He had a very accommodating attitude. I know there were multiple people working on this project, and Khurram often referred to the "team" working behind the scenes, but we weren't sure who that was.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The nature of this project does not allow me to quantify the outcome because it is part of a larger product - i.e. a film, which will be screened.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Khurram, the project manager, was always responsive to my requests. He was available and eager to help. We really appreciated that. That being said, I think his team had a little trouble understanding some of the concepts/requests I was making.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The company has an extensive amount of animation options, which I appreciated. I also liked Khurram's responsiveness.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Anideos provided very good value for the money. I was happy with the finished product, and I appreciated the unlimited revisions they offered for a project that required some thought. Khurram was always responsive to my calls and emails, which was excellent.

The only reason I can't give five stars is that the project took a little longer than I had expected, especially since I had to provide so much explanation. I sent over a written explanation, a diagram and I drafted 2 videos, and it still took a lot of work for the idea to come to fruition.

The company also doesn't work strictly out of New York, as much of the work is done overseas. Overall, this animation was important for my project, and I did receive the product I needed.

I’m the chairman of the board for Vax Global. We put together vaccination identification cards issued by governments.

What challenge were you trying to address with Anideos?

We brought them on to create a video that described what our business does in less than 20 seconds. It needed it to be animated so it was gender-neutral and race-neutral.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, Anideos sent out a questionnaire and told us they’d follow up with a storyboard. We had a tight deadline of four days. So instead of answering the questionnaire, I sent them a storyboard outlining exactly what I needed. They were very receptive to this and moved forward.

Their team created a 20-second animated video with stick figures to relay the message of what our organization does. The video was delivered early on day four. It was completed, approved, and online that very day.

I worked directly with Harris (COO), and he coordinated with his team.

How did you come to work with Anideos?

I posted that I needed a vendor and four companies responded. Anideos responded the fastest and were the most professional. Their questions were thorough and they were clear about what expectations the client should have. It was clear they had their act together.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement was in January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The video is published on our site but primarily, it was sent to the Minister of Health, Office of the Governor, and US senators. The idea was to send an email to them, describing everything we do. The first line of the email expressed that in the interest of time they should watch this 20-second video that’ll save 30 minutes of reading.

The video allowed viewers to quickly understand exactly what we’re doing because they don’t have a lot of time. We received responses that the video completely explained everything. We got great feedback.

How did Anideos perform from a project management standpoint?

Anideos under-promised and over-delivered. They followed up with me every day and were super easy to work with.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were great at following up via telephone and provided an incredible audit trail via email.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind. They knocked it out of the park.

Define the scope of your project and make sure you’ve thought it through so there aren’t a lot of change orders.

Initially, I hired Anideos to create animated videos, but I liked their work so much that I asked them to do my marketing website as well. After developing the website, they also created business cards and t-shirts for me. Anideos was able to embody what I was saying in the actual drawings and animation storyboard.

I shopped around on the internet for animation companies. After looking at a review and talking to Anideos, I liked what I heard and decided to work with them. Even though they are professionals, you have that liberty and you’re not tied with them. I didn’t feel a tightened pressure. They were getting across with what I wanted. My program and my vision mattered enough for them to hear me. I didn’t feel like a number.

I worked with Anideos from September–November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I work with various school systems and programs. I had them look at what I have and they were impressed. They could tell what the video was displaying and it was very comprehensive. The video was also described as easy to follow. It left you full of knowledge in reference to my program. It met our needs.

How did Anideos perform from a project management standpoint?

Anideos performed excellently in terms of project management and communication. There was no gap in communication and I can always get a hold of them without badgering them.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

Anideos made my vision come alive. I couldn’t have gotten a better company to meet what I was putting out. They exceeded my expectations in quality and creativity. Their work reflects what I predict. It left me very satisfied.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think they could’ve done anything any better. They’re great the way they are.

My advice is to make sure to tell Anideos exactly what you want and what your expectations are.

My organization specializes in marketing and PR creative web design services for clients, mostly in B2B interactions. My role is graphic designer, so I handle the creation and development thought process and the broader brand strategy for our clients.

There’s a lot of other minute things that come into my role, such as managing video, animation, and photography services. When our clients need something media-based done, I service as a project manager to not only do the task, but also manage the relationship and communication between both groups.

What challenge were you trying to address with Anideos?

We asked Anideos to create an animated video to explain one of our clients’ services through visuals.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I initially did a kickoff call to determine the style of the animated video that the client was looking for. From there, I connected with the Anideos team, discussed the style preferences with them, and sent them visual references. We got on a call to get a really deep understanding of what the plan looked like, and then I sent them the script for the storyboarding phase.

Their team worked very quickly to accommodate our tight schedule, which was great; the first draft was what I had indicated that the client and I were looking for, stylistically. From there, we ran the storyboard past our internal team and made some minor modifications to the visuals. 

Then, we handed the storyboard off to the client for an initial review. From there, we followed a process wherein the client gave us comments, and I handed those off to the Anideos team for them to implement. We also had calls to discuss some details, as the subject of the video is fairly complicated.

After that, they provided some voice actors for us to choose from, and we made our recommendations to the client. Then, Anideos did the full animation, which we handed off to the client. There were some things that the client wanted to change after they saw it in motion, but it was great because pretty much everything that was in the storyboard had already been seen by the client. There really weren’t any surprises at that point.

I worked with one person from Anideos.

How did you come to work with Anideos?

I had to find an animator very quickly because of our timeline, so I did a quick search online. I believe I stumbled upon Anideos on Bark. I liked their logo — I’m a graphic designer, so I pay attention to those things. Their website had a lot of great samples, so I left my contact information. 

Shaheer (CEO) called me almost immediately, and we discussed the scope of the project and all of those details. They sent me a link to some of their work, and they had a good amount of it in the specific industry that our project was for, which made me feel really comfortable.

How much have you invested with them?

The project less than $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started this project in September 2020 and finished in November of the same year. I actually just received word that the video was approved by the client.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I got feedback from one of our team members, so I never really got any direct feedback from our client, aside from the fact that several of the slides were really favorable to them. A few teammates joined our calls and enjoyed the quality of their work.

In terms of metrics, we haven’t uploaded the video yet or anything like that. I can say that the style that I was looking for wasn’t something that anybody could just understand, so I was really impressed with Anideos’s ability to replicate the artistic direction based on what was given — that’s always the hardest part.

While we did make some artistic changes in the design, the project went in the right direction from the start. Making sure that the style looks right on the first cut is always the most nerve-wracking part for me, and we did that, so that was great.

How did Anideos perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management was great. We communicated through text and email. We had some learning curves along the way, but we always approached it with the goal of improving certain parts of the collaboration. We also thought of things we could do in the future so that we could better understand each other and ultimately craft a long-term relationship, which was my goal.

We had a lot of opportunities to check in. They were always available for last-minute calls to discuss things and get changes done. I always felt like I was heard in that I could expect changes done quickly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Anideos is the only animation team that I have worked with, but I can say that the quality of their work was pretty astounding for what we paid. When I was looking around prior to this engagement, the price jumps were significant for what I was searching for.

Price and quality were definitely a key component. I often worry about getting the best possible quality for cost, and I didn’t have to worry about that throughout this process. That is really comforting for someone in my position who is managing the design and artwork.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had some issues with the misinterpretation of feedback. A lot of that came down to making sure that those things wouldn’t happen in the future, so we spelled things out, got on calls, and talked through those more complicated edits. That was probably our biggest pressure point, but it’s not uncommon to see. No matter how good you are, there are always going to be misunderstandings and revisions, so it’s nothing crazy to have to work through.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Lean on Anideos and answer all of the questions that they ask so that they can best serve you. Make sure that you have clear art direction. If you don’t, lean on them for their direction and be accommodating to their interpretations. 

Also, make sure that your script is clearly final so that you don’t have to worry about back-and-forth. Making sure that you check off and complete those things ensures that the process can move smoothly. There’s no point in sending a script that’s half-done, then trying to write it while doing the artwork — this will waste time and ultimately delay your project. Make sure that when you’re done with the script and the storyboard, you’re really done with them, and just be diligent about that.

I’m the CEO of Talent Book. It’s a social media platform and the objective is to allow people to have free speech without being monitored by other tools such as Google.

What challenge were you trying to address with Anideos?

I brought them on to build our platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Anideos built our website, and they’re currently working on building the app for Android and iOS. When we started, we went step by step. Any time they completed a task, we’d have a call and then exchange information. The Anideos team would then send documentation so I could give them the approval to move forward. There were 4–5 steps with the website, and the final stage was testing.

For the mobile app development, they estimated the whole process will take about 3–6 months. In addition to managing my web hosting and maintaining the website, they’ll go on to maintain the app as well. I have an all-in-one package with them. Right now, we’re in the first phase of building the app. I’ll receive a link to download the app so I can see its look and feel, features, and functionalities.

What is the team composition?

Most of the time I work directly with the CEO. For the website, I initially dealt with someone from the sales department.

How did you come to work with Anideos?

I found them online. I posted an ad, and they were the first to call me back. In the beginning, I had a hard time believing them, and they had to gain my trust. They were very flexible in working with me on the payments.

How much have you invested in them?

I invested $7,000 for the website. I paid $500 for five years of unlimited hosting with them as well. After six months, it will be $300 a month for maintaining the website and app. The app cost is $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in June 2020. It took no longer than four months to complete the website.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a great job for me. I’m happy with the website. Anideos gave me an idea of the app, and they didn’t create a cheap app. The website has been running for more than a month now, and we haven’t run into any issues.

As of right now, I have 61 users. One objective of the app is to bring more users to the website. I’m really happy with the website, and their team built a great platform. I give them credit for how everything has been running smoothly. They do an excellent job of working with us.

How did Anideos perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication has been great. Anytime I have a question, all I have to do is text the CEO and he responds quickly. He texts or sends me emails with any questions they may have. The communication is excellent, and I can’t believe how well they communicate even though they’re far away from me.

Everything is done virtually or over the phone. We use email as well. They schedule meetings three weeks in advance. Then 2–3 days before the meeting, they remind me about it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We have a great working relationship; they talk and explain things to me in an excellent manner. Their team encourages me and gave me the courage to work with them. I like the way they treat me and explain things so I can understand.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They did everything exactly the way I wanted. There isn’t anything they can do differently. For me, it’s been perfect.

They’re really faithful and truthful. Their team doesn’t lie and if they make a commitment, they follow through. If they promise you something, they’ll do it. They won’t change what they commit to.
