AMBITIOUS, led by Lis, provided comprehensive media relations and reputation management support to our family following the passing of our family member. The scope of work included strategic advice on how to manage public and media interest, shaping key messages that aligned with our father’s legacy, and guiding us through the process of public communications during an emotionally complex time.

While the nature of the work was sensitive and not easily quantified in traditional business metrics, several clear outcomes demonstrated its success:

1. Positive, respectful coverage of our family member's passing across national and local media outlets: all aligned with the family’s wishes and messaging.
2. Effective management of media engagement, with press enquiries handled professionally, minimising stress and intrusion for the family during a deeply emotional time.
3. Preservation of privacy and reputation, with no misinformation or misrepresentation in public discourse: a testament to the strategic clarity and oversight provided by AMBITIOUS.

These outcomes were deeply important to us and exceeded expectations during an extremely delicate period.

Lis and the AMBITIOUS team demonstrated excellent project management throughout the engagement. Despite the emotionally charged and time-sensitive nature of the situation, they worked with urgency, clarity, and calm. All deliverables – from press materials to media responses – were handled promptly and with great attention to detail.

Lis was always available when we needed her, often at short notice, and responded with empathy and professionalism. She adapted seamlessly to our evolving needs, offering guidance that was both strategic and sensitive. Her ability to manage complex communications in real time, while remaining respectful of our family’s emotional space, was outstanding.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most about AMBITIOUS – and Lis in particular – was the rare combination of emotional intelligence and strategic precision. Navigating media attention during a time of personal grief requires far more than technical PR skills; it demands empathy, intuition, and a deep sense of responsibility. Lis brought all of that and more.

Her ability to manage complex, high-stakes communications while making us feel supported, heard, and protected was genuinely remarkable. She understood not just what to do but how to do it in a way that honoured our values and respected our emotional space. Their level of care and professionalism is truly unique.

Are there any areas for improvement or something AMBITIOUS could have done differently?

Given the sensitivity of the situation and the high level of service we received, there is genuinely little I would suggest for improvement. AMBITIOUS delivered with professionalism, compassion, and speed, all under emotionally challenging circumstances. If anything, perhaps offering a brief post-engagement debrief could have helped us reflect on the process and prepare for any future media moments related to our family member's legacy. But overall, the support exceeded expectations.

What challenge were you trying to address with AMBITIOUS?

We needed to do a website overview in relation to content and SEO, so we hired AMBITIOUS.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I had an email exchange with Claire (Digital Communications Manager) who was undertaking the site audit for us. She asked me a lot of general questions about our business, goals, and so on. She then came back a couple of days later to present us with a very in-depth document that showed how we could change our website, use content in a more effective way, and improve our SEO. 

We’re now moving into the process of building a new website, which we are coordinating with our development team.

I mostly work with Claire.

How did you come to work with AMBITIOUS?

I've known one of the directors for 20 years.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started this project in May 2021, and it is ongoing.

We mostly communicate through email. We’re not utilizing any project management tools.
