The most valuable side project, which Cut2Code delivered for us, was developing a "Check your Thyroid!" embedded calculator. We had a list of external requirements from a medical publication to be fulfilled, so the calculator could be shared on our website.

I believe there were a total of 3 people who worked with us from the Cut2Code team. Tom, who is the new business developer was the first and last person we talked to. Mary, the project manager and point of contact throughout the whole project who was absolutely fantastic every step of the way. The third person was one of their developers. Their team did a fantastic job, and every step of the process was a pleasurable experience.

Our clients initial e-mail list more than doubled the 1st week after launching the website and sharing it with the first group of people from the Chippewa Valley. It was a great success!

I’m the training manager at ECCRT, a clinical research training company in Brussels, Belgium. I’m in charge of all the operations and website development.

We were in a complicated situation; we were unhappy with our last website developer. They took forever to do anything, and we had so many issues. Ultimately, we decided to look for someone more professional who could help us with the problems we were facing.

We’ve worked with Cut2Code on WordPress development. In the beginning, we had many questions because the website was already developed, so we knew it could be tricky having developers working on existing code. We talked a lot about what we could do if we had to make a brand-new website. As soon as we agreed with the contract, we signed with Cut2Code. We had several projects to work on, so we started operationally talking with our team to execute them.

Since the website was already built, we started fixing and cleaning more minor issues. The previous site was barely usable, so Cut2Code began cleaning up the site and making it fast. Then, we discussed the project further and wrote out specific requirements. We had some audit reports on the website, so we sent them to the team. They went through everything and took care of all the items in the report.

We currently have a maintenance contract with them to constantly check out our plug-ins and ensure everything is running smoothly.

Unless there are minor issues with the site, they’re almost always on time. The team communicates when everything will be delivered, and they’ve been on budget. Working with them has been fantastic; it’s easy to communicate with them, schedule calls, and organize the project. 

We use Slack to communicate, and they’re very responsive. They get back to us within the day, if not within the hour. Overall, communication is fantastic.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When we come to Cut2Code with a problem, they come up with a solution — they’ve been super helpful. When we face an issue, they tell us what we can do or how they can take care of the problem. Since we aren’t tech experts, we appreciate that they’re solution-oriented.

Maybe they could automate their side to send the invoices automatically, but that’s a minor detail.

My advice is to work with them. Every company is in a different situation, but they can still help you regardless of what you’re developing. Overall, they’re a fantastic company to work with. If you need a WordPress development partner, they’re a good bet.

As a startup, we don't have in-house developers, so needed a team that would take our designs and make them reality. For our company aesthetics and functionality of the site are paramount. I had used their parent company, Cut2Code previously for my Wordpress website for another company. They really impressed me, as my prior wordpress developer ruined my SEO, site speed, search function, and other aspects of my website. As a non-technical person, I didn't realize how important it is to have "clean code." Will never make that mistake again.

I found Cut2Code and chose them for multiple reasons - responsiveness, perfect understanding of English, fair pricing, and ability to solve all my web dev problems. So, when I had to create a shopify site, I didn't even look anywhere else, and they absolutely did not disappoint.

We had a kickoff meeting to discuss the project, and I provided them with the designs from an outside designer. They then started the development process on Shopify. When one page was done, they would share it with me, I offered feedback, and they could make any changes as needed. Our launch got delayed, hence why the project was a bit drawn out.

We had to make several changes - due to manufacturing delays - they were very patient and understanding, and always were willing to change things as needed or fix/improve things that were caught later on. They delivered me a fully functional and aesthetically pleasing site.

We only launched the site to the public a few days ago, but so far everything is running smoothly. Emails are working, pre-orders are working, and the site is fast and beautiful.

Communication was primarily through email, but we could hop on a video chat anytime extra explanation was needed. They worked in a timely fashion, and were very responsive.

They gave us a professional Shopify site. I am new to shopify, so they also gave me some tips and pointers on how best to use it. I feel they really stand by their work, and are willing to fix things that aren't working right, and do so swiftly. They were very responsive and easy to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only thing I can think of, is it would be nice if they used some sort of project management software with the client for ongoing jobs where there is a lot of back and forth. Sometimes the email chains got extremely long and it's hard to search through them when you need to find something later on.

The website, modules, and new pages are already live. We’re using the pages as part of our marketing campaigns, and we plan to build more websites and modules with Cut2Code. 

Cut2Code has delivered precisely to our specifications — the new website pages and modules haven’t needed any feedback because they’ve adhered to our designs. Normally, we have to give a software team a lot of revisions after the first round of implementation, but Cut2Code is the rare company that matches what a client wants. We’re very happy working with them. 

How did Cut2Code perform from a project management standpoint?

Their biggest advantage is their communication. We use Asana for day-to-day task management — we don’t need to use Slack or anything because we never have to push Cut2Code to deliver on time. 

They always deliver on time — they’re very quick. We have weekly meetings with their team to discuss project updates and status; each week, we set up a plan for the following week. They follow our milestones; they are excellent at delivering results on time. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team is very professional. The incredible part of the partnership for me is that I don’t have to ask Cut2Code’s team to do a lot of revisions. Our in-house design team has been impressed with how accurately Cut2Code has implemented their designs.

Cut2Code sets an example as a provider of accessibility features. By implementing a set of functionalities, we wanted to make the website easier to use for people with disabilities - mainly with visual impairments. That way, users should be able to change font size, website contrast, and eliminate some of the colors.

Additionally, we’ve requested that the navigation on the website will also be possible using the computer keyboard. Cut2Code met all of those requests and transformed challenges into smoothly delivered quests.
