• Create a cinematic, bilingual (PT/EN) launch website for the spy novel “O Espião do Estoril”, with art direction drawn from the printed invitation: gold on near-black, generous spacing and restrained motion.
• Get the right guests to the book launch at Hotel Palácio Estoril on 27 November 2026 through a simple four-field RSVP form with spam protection.
• Make the launch feel like an event, with an 18-second trailer (including a portrait cut for phones) and interactive details such as a rotatable 3D book.

I had already designed the book cover, the Excalibur Editora logo and the printed invitations for the launch of my spy novel, “O Espião do Estoril”. What I needed was a place online where the invitation could be shared, viewed on any screen and answered easily. Alvaliving Studio designed and built the launch website, excalibureditora.com, from art direction to development. Main deliverables: A one-page, bilingual (PT/EN) launch website whose art direction follows my printed invitation: gold on near-black, generous spacing, restrained motion An 18-second AI-generated opening trailer, art-directed and edited by the studio, with a horizontal version for desktop and a dedicated vertical cut for mobile An interactive 3D version of the book that visitors can rotate by mouse or touch A mobile-first layout and a four-field RSVP form with spam protection Technical setup: fast static build, accessible motion (with a reduced-motion fallback), structured data for the event and book, and automated deployment

The project was delivered on time, with the website live well ahead of my 27 November book launch. I arrived with a clear idea and a lot of material already done (cover, logo and printed invitations), and the team respected that: instead of redesigning what I had, they built on it, and the site feels like a natural extension of my invitation. Communication was clear and easy throughout. Whenever I gave feedback, the team responded quickly and adjusted the work without fuss. I always knew where the project stood and what came next.

What set Alvaliving Studio apart is that they started from what I already had instead of from their own ego. I had designed my cover, my logo and my printed invitations, and many studios would have wanted to redo everything. They did the opposite: they understood what the invitation meant and translated it to the screen, so the website feels like the same object in a different medium. They also deliver a rare mix of creative and technical care: art direction, motion, an AI-generated trailer with its own vertical cut for phones, an interactive 3D book and an RSVP form, all in a single page that loads fast and works in Portuguese and English. Nothing felt decorative; every element had a reason to be there. Most of all, they treat a launch as a story to be told, not just a site to be built. I would recommend them to anyone who already has an identity and wants it amplified, not replaced.

Nothing significant to point out. The only "improvement" I can think of is a good problem to have: I would have liked to have the studio involved even earlier, since they understood the project so well that I could have used their help with the rest of the launch material too.

• Redesign the website of a 1943 association without breaking continuity: keep the coat of arms, brand red and bulletin name so long-time members feel at home, while making every page clearer and consistent.
• Make the site comfortable on any device, designed mobile-first, and accessible to older members and people with visual, motor or reading difficulties, following WCAG guidelines.
• Give the association autonomy: a simple editing panel to publish news, events and new bulletin issues without technical help, and a safe migration from the old Joomla site.

Complete redesign and modern web development for Casa do Concelho de Tomar. The objective was to modernize the digital experience while maintaining the cultural identity and trust built over decades. Alvaliving Studio migrated decades of historical content from an outdated Joomla platform to a fast, accessible, mobile-first website equipped with a simple CMS and custom features.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Full content migration: 90 news and event articles, 20+ issues of the «O Tomarense» bulletin in PDF and 56 gallery photos carried over from the old site, across 100+ pages.

117 permanent (301) redirects from the old Joomla addresses to the new pages, so no existing link, bookmark or search ranking was lost in the move.

Accessibility on 100% of pages: text resizing up to 130%, high contrast, underlined links, text spacing and saved preferences, plus full keyboard navigation, a skip link and reduced-motion support.

The project management was top-notch throughout the entire process. Alvaliving Studio met every deadline, communicated with absolute clarity, and kept us updated at every phase. They were extremely responsive to our needs, listened carefully to our feedback, and implemented adjustments seamlessly without any delays. Working with them was effortless and efficient.

The project covered the full redesign and technical optimisation of a WordPress website built on Live Composer.
Key deliverables included a defined design system with an institutional colour palette and typographic hierarchy, a custom mobile navigation system built from scratch, self-hosted fonts replacing all Google Fonts calls, a must-use plugin to strip residual external font requests at HTML level, a proprietary open-source accessibility plugin automating alt text generation, viewport zoom compliance and ARIA injection, privacy-first analytics configuration with WP Statistics, and a PageSpeed improvement from 75 to 97 on mobile.

Google PageSpeed Insights mobile scores improved significantly within one week: Performance from 75 to 97, Accessibility from 87 to 93, Best Practices from 96 to 100, and SEO from 92 to 100. The site achieved full GDPR compliance with zero external font requests, and WCAG accessibility standards were met without requiring a cookie consent banner.
