Please describe your company and your position there.

Pacific Horticulture is a Berkeley, CA nonprofit whose mission is to advocate for the garden and its power to enrich lives and heal the environment. We envision a resilient world dependent on the thoughtful cultivation of plants. I am the organization's Office Manger, Database Administrator, and work on any other projects as needed to further the mission of the organization.

For what projects/services did your company hire AF Digital Native, and what were your goals?

Our website was very outdated and needed a complete makeover, including rebranding with a new logo and adding sections for Podcasts, Videos, and an eCommerce section. We needed to find a company that could work behind the scenes and was West Coast based, AF Digital Native fit the bill perfectly.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found Angel and AF Digital Native via UpWork and hired them after a thorough review of their reviews on upwork, visiting their website, doing some research on the company and Angel, and finally after a face-to-face Zoom meeting.

Pacific Horticulture is in the process of re-branding the organization with a new logo and style guide (color palettes, fonts, and a website schemes), and we need a Professional WordPress developer to reach our goal of seamlessly integrating the new branding into all aspects of our website:

We are looking for the perfect blend of Developer and Designer, much of the work will be in the PHP files and the CSS coding but we also want to have someone who understands the design concept for our rebranding and can partner with us on how to best incorporate it into our existing website.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We mainly worked with Angel, the owner, but also worked with two of his Development team members. We were impressed with their knowledge, expertise, and quick turnaround of completed solutions.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our website was 100% overhauled to add many new tools and plug-ins for adding new media capabilities. The aesthetic design for our website was 100% changed from our Organization logo to the font style the website uses.

Angel and his team also integrated WooCommerce into our website so that we could begin to sell Pacific Horticulture branded merchandise. A much more complicated process than the setup documents allude to, I will guarantee that. We could not have done it without Angel and his team.

Angel and his team, along with our team, set out clear goals for the project, a clear timeline, and expected deliverables. Angel was extremely responsive to email requests for updates, always willing to make time to jump on a face-to-face Zoom call to discuss the project, and made the process as smooth as one could hope for.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The complete and total mastery of Website Development tools and best practices. AF Digital Native also did not hesitate to drop anything they may have been doing is we found an issue with our website and fixed any issues immediately. They even stopped everything they were doing when I accidentally broke our website trying, unsuccessfully, to install the eCommerce portion.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None, whatsoever.

I am the Founder of MEvolution, a science-based, personal growth system that, through its proprietary assessment, leverages data and A.I to reveal the behavioral and mental blockers holding people back from showing up in the world as their best selves.

Our analysis curates a personal roadmap of modules to remove these blockers, learn new techniques and form healthier habits and thinking patterns by managing, redirecting, and unlocking full human capacity.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They were recommended to us my a mutual connection who also had been very pleased with their work. We compared them to a few others and found them to be well priced, attentive, and knowledgable in the initial meetings.

We had a couple of discovery sessions and then they dove in, walking us through the design process as they went. They were incredibly collaborative, taking in feedback and adjusting the designs. Their work ethic was amazing. They always got back to us quickly and addressed all of our feedback.

Several from the project manager to designers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have received a lot of positive feedback from clients regarding the website.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was incredibly effective. We used adobe, docs, email, and meetings, whatever was needed for the right communications in the best way.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

AF Digital Native is completely committed to excellence and collaboratively meeting their client’s needs. They take the time to understand your business, intent, mission and needs, then collaborate iteratively with you to ensure that the design, in all aspects, delivers on your vision. From a design perspective, they were fantastic with the concept for our site as well creating purposeful and unique imagery.

From a copywriting perspective, they nailed it, translating our story and features in a way that matched the voice of our intended audience. They set an incredible foundation for our site, which enabled us to grow it across our brand and future products. The work ethic of the team is incredible (and frankly, hard to find), they go above-and-beyond, they are a joy to work with, and I would certainly use them again.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Honestly, I think they were great in every way. While there were several iterations, this provided opportunity to give feedback, which they acted on and encouraged. They delivered above and beyond with a very reasonable cost.

I think they've done a fantastic job of helping me launch my new business. From the very beginning, they helped me not only dream but put down the ideas that serve me now and ones that would unfold later. Taking one step at a time has been very helpful in moving forward with excellence and excitement.
