We’ve outsourced all of our technical needs to Adivi Corporation. These include emailing, web hosting, and email hosting. They manage our IT functions and help us when setting up new computers for employees. Their resources have initially worked on-site to help us set up; now, everything’s done remotely. When we hire a new employee, they set up computers and programs.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Adivi Corporation provides timely services and gets back to us within 24 hours. They typically address our service requests within the same day. If not, they notify us that we’re in the queue and reach out to us the next day.
How did Adivi Corporation perform from a project management standpoint?
We don’t have any set budget, but whenever I request something, Barry tells me about its approximate cost. They have a ticketing system, but we simply send them a message, and they open the ticket for us. We communicate via email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their greatest strengths are their reliability, speed of service, and quick response times.

I’ve always been satisfied with their help; they’re punctual, efficient, and competent. When they say they’ll call or be at my office, they are. We’ve never had trouble with that. Adivi Corporation is very reliable.

Our organization is a chicken sausage and other meat product manufacturing company in Chicago, and I am the business systems manager. I deal with all of our ERP computer system projects, which put me in charge of managing our managed service partnerships.

What challenge were you trying to address with Adivi Corporation?

We were looking for a new managed services partner to run our IT, keep an eye on our servers, and help us troubleshoot problems with the network connection or new computers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In 2011, we set out to upgrade all of our computers and servers that we were running on. They recommended hardware to switch to, managed the setup and all of the security guidelines, and made sure we addressed any issues right away.

Step two of that process was to implement our ERP system, which was another big project for which they helped us make the switch and did all the troubleshooting. Since then, they’ve helped maintain our system and take care of things like letting us know when one of our modems is down so that we can continue to do our work without worrying about the technicalities.

What is the team composition?

It’s usually three or four people, depending on whether or not we have anything big going on. At this point, we only talk to them when we have problems or a project to take on, but they are working behind the scenes monitoring the network every day.

They were referred to us by another company because they work very close to our office.

We’ve spent around $290,000.

Our collaboration started in April 2010 and we are still working together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project has definitely been successful so far. All of our major projects with them have gone very well, and they’re very quick to help us out whenever we have any issues.

We had a server network error a few weeks ago, and they started working on it remotely but were here in our office until almost four in the morning and were back at seven the next day. That kind of service really demonstrates an impressive dedication to our partnership.

How did Adivi Corporation perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been great. They stay ahead of the game with timelines and are very active about communicating with us at all times. Over all the years that we’ve worked together, we’ve had zero problems.

What did you find most impressive about them?

As a company, they are very nimble and hands-on, but beyond that, they really care. The owner isn’t afraid to jump in and help move things along himself, which is great. The fact that they feel like actual people rather than a customer service robot sitting behind a desk really demonstrated how much they go above and beyond in everything they do.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing I think would help them would be having one or two more employees, but I don’t think it causes any problems on our end. Having a leaner staff might mean more work for each of them but also helps them maintain a personal feel that can be difficult with larger companies.

It’s important to establish a good relationship. As I said, they’re not afraid to be on-site and get to know you, so take advantage of that. Show them that you care about learning enough about the issues that you will be a good partner to work with, and they will engage with you so much more. That extra care just makes everything run so much better.

We use Adivi Corporation to manage our large computer system and network using their outside servers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Adivi Corporation maintains our systems from their office, which is off-site. They monitor 4–5 servers and their linking network constantly. They assist our in-house support person, making him aware of any issues and fixing them if he can’t take care of it.

Their team also has done big hardware projects for us. We’ve migrated our system over to new servers about 3–4 times throughout our partnership. Adivi Corporation took care of our 50–60 workstations and took 4–5 days to make sure everything worked well and was up-to-date by the time they were done.

We always have a point person, but the team size varies from 1–4 people depending on the size of the project. We tend to have just a one-on-one relationship for most day-to-day matters.

To be honest, the owner of Adivi Corporation and I had kids in the same playgroup. I wasn’t happy with who we were working with, and I had started looking at other vendors. We started talking, and he told me about his company. It was a 4–5-year gap between when we met and when we started working together, but eventually, the timing worked out.

We’ve spent about $250,000.

Adivi Corporation is very professional and organized. If we’ve planned for specific tasks to start tomorrow, they will start tomorrow. They keep to our schedules and timelines. We’ve rarely had glitches, and when they do pop up, our point of contact takes care of it. Adivi Corporation’s owner is also on hand, checking in to make projects are going well and to solve any problems that come up.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate the personal touch most of all. The owner is really involved and knowledgeable. Adivi Corporation spent time to make sure they fully understood our business before getting started. Now that we’ve worked together for 17 years, they know our company thoroughly. Adivi Corporation is like an extension of our IT department.

No, I can’t think of anything. Adivi Corporation does everything they need to do, and they work with our in-house person well. I hope that the relationship continues as is and that nothing falls off.

We worked with them through a couple of transitions. We started working with them in 2006 when we only had about 35 employees. Our model was not sustainable, so we went to them for their IT managed platforms.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They took over all our technologies. As a managed IT firm, they host our servers, both at our office and off-site. They monitor everything and alert us when anything goes down. They also do managed desktop technologies. If we have an issue of any kind, they dial into our computers remotely and fix whatever challenge we face.

They've also set us up in new offices, and they agreed to be on call as we went through a relocation effort. They met with engineers in our new space and discussed the needs in the server room before we even broke ground. We may engage them to host our website in the future, and we're considering the possibility using them for our internet services.

I don't know what their exact corporate structure is. I've worked with a few technicians over the years, but I'm not sure how many they employ on a regular basis.

We met through a mutual friend. They were just starting out, and we needed the services they provided. We met with them, decided to hire them, and have worked together for a long time.
