Ackee was responsible for developing the mobile applications (iOS & Android), and testing for Oneplay. While backend and web infrastructure were handled by another vendor, Ackee played a crucial role in ensuring the frontend experience was smooth and intuitive. Ackee’s contributions included:

• Native Mobile: They built modern, high-performance apps for iOS, Android, using the latest technologies, including Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) for select components.
• Consulting on Design: While not fully leading the design, they collaborated closely as consultants to optimize the user experience.
• Integration & Testing: They contributed to testing efforts, ensuring stability and performance across platforms. This project was particularly challenging as Oneplay was built from scratch, requiring collaboration with multiple vendors (backend, web, TV apps, and Ackee). 

The backend and web development were handled by a separate company, making coordination crucial to avoid inefficiencies and delays. Despite these challenges, Ackee managed to deliver the project on time in 1.5 years, which exceeded expectations.

The collaboration with Ackee on developing the OMG mobile app for Konsent was great. Regular meetings and scenario adjustments with the game designer led to the creation of a high-quality product that met both our expectations and the deadline set by the Erasmus+ grant. I highly recommend Ackee for mobile app development.

There is very little they could improve. My only suggestion for the inexperienced is to document as much as possible before brainstorming. Validating your project requirements will be much easier with thoughts already articulated.

The goal of the collaboration was to create an application that visualizes a complex predictive AI model, that helps hop growers and shows them, how to manage water efficiently. It can advise where, when and what amount of water to irrigate, down to the level of a particular hop plant. In the application, hop growers enter the coordinates of their hop farm as well as the desired yield of hops at the end of the season, which should correspond to the long-term average. 

Based on detailed data from the previous two years of measurements, weather forecasts and watering data in the past period, they can see how much water needs to be used for the hops to thrive. The application is optimized to be accessible from desktop, tablet and mobile, providing the same user experience on all devices. 

In the background, the application communicates via the API interface with the predictive model. The predictive model runs in Microsoft's Azure cloud and is built on machine learning methods. Thanks to artificial intelligence, we are able to provide predictions even to those hop growers who do not have any sensors on their hop farm.

The main goal was to make a mobile WebSupervisor app that would be similar to our website app, but more handy. With a mobile app we wanted to enable our customers to control any power controllers from a distance, see what they are doing, if there's any technical issue, where the issue is located, if it's on or off and many more.

• The app itself is used by a lot of customers and it works very well. Peak number of users so far was 10 000 users monthly and 1500 users daily. The app is used globally and, of course, mostly in countries where the power grid is not so stable so they need their own independent power production.

As described above, the project workflow was very smooth. Now with the regular updates, we meet twice a year and the planning and communication works perfectly.
