What challenge were you trying to address with AC Designs?

We needed a company that could help us migrate our website from WordPress to Webflow.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired AC Designs to migrate our website from WordPress to Webflow while maintaining the site’s original structure and SEO so we don’t lose a lot of traffic in the process. Aside from that, they designed and developed new landing pages in Webflow, made minor changes to the site’s design, and created new animations.

How did you come to work with AC Designs?

I found AC Designs through a freelancing marketplace. 

How much have you invested with them?

I spent around $1,650 AUD (Approximately $1,200 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2022, and the project ended in the same month.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

AC Designs did an excellent job on the site’s migration. It did not affect our SEO, and we saw an increase in our site traffic. The landing page that they created for us did well and started to rank really fast. Once we started running Google Ads on those landing pages, we had great conversion rates as well.

How did AC Designs perform from a project management standpoint?

AC Designs performed well in terms of project management. They delivered the project on time and within budget. We primarily communicated through the freelancing platform.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with AC Designs’ Webflow development expertise. They really know Webflow’s ins and outs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I wouldn't change anything.

I’m the owner of Grand Rapids Web Design, a web design company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with AC Designs?

Our website was getting old. It was last designed in 2012, so we wanted to update it and make it more modern because we noticed a huge increase in the bounce rate. We’re also a web design agency, so we could have done it ourselves. However, we had a lot of ongoing projects, and our team didn’t have the time or capacity to work on our own website. Therefore, we decided to hire another agency to help us with our web design while we focused on our client projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

AC Designs designed our website on Figma and developed it using WordPress and Elementor Pro. As for the development languages, they used PHP and some custom coding on JavaScript.

When AC Designs joined, I already had a basic structure set up for how I wanted the site to look, so they used my input to design the site. Additionally, my team created the illustrations that we wanted on the site.

It is a very simple website with a basic contact form. Still, one of its core features is an additional lead form. It is a big form with a series of questions that helps us screen out bad leads. When someone wants to reach out to us, they first need to go through that form. Once they fill out the form, their information lets us know whether they’re a good fit for our company or not.

In addition to that form, AC Designs helped us develop a calculator that customers can use to put in their project details. Based on those details, the calculator provides them with an estimated amount of the project's cost.

What is the team composition?

I worked with two people from AC Designs: a graphic designer and the owner.

How did you come to work with AC Designs?

I knew the graphic designer personally; I had worked with them in the past. When I was thinking about hiring a company to help us with our website, I reached out to this person directly, and they introduced me to AC Designs’ owner — that was how we started working together.

How much have you invested with them?

We paid them $2,000 in total; $1,000 for the design and $1,000 for the development.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2022 and completed the project in October 2022. It took about four weeks.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

As general feedback, our senior designers were very impressed with our website’s UX, which was a sign of the project’s success. It is very easy to navigate and provides a clear picture of what we do and what our company is about, which is what we wanted. The website is now live and active, but our marketing team is still populating it with content before we can advertise it.

How did AC Designs perform from a project management standpoint?

AC Designs' project management was great. We had no problems communicating with them, and they met all our deadlines. For project management, we added their team to our Asana dashboard. As for communication, we had a lot of Zoom meetings and a couple of regular phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

AC Designs proved to be very talented and strong regarding user research and UX; their designs were very good. Their team took the time to do proper research and understand the user personas. Based on their findings, they designed a very good website for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As far as my experience with AC Designs goes, I didn’t identify areas of improvement for them. Still, I wasn’t the only one communicating with them, and I received some constructive feedback from my senior designer about the engagement. He told me that AC Designs didn’t take feedback as well as expected, so it would have been great if they improved in that area.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re looking for website design, AC Designs is a great design company to work with. They have talented designers and individuals on their team. Tell them your end goals and how you want your users to interact with the site upfront; it will help their designers understand your business and users so that they can design the perfect website for you.
