Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the senior enterprise software product leader for a company called Mitratech; we sell software to businesses that center around resolving and managing compliance and risk.

What challenge were you trying to address with Abjayon Inc?

We hired Abjayon Inc because we had an internal problem that we didn’t have the bandwidth to solve, and we knew we needed outside assistance. We brought them in to work on coding for our core products.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They work as a side team to add value to our products and deliver more by expanding our capabilities. We normally come to them with a fixed bid project, which usually consists of a new feature we want to add. Our team handles the design work, and we give Abjayon Inc the scope. 

After we define the deliverables, they set out to work and deliver them to us. The size and scope of the project they work on varies depending on the feature. We provide them with high-level business requirements and wireframes; throughout the project, we normally give them more detailed requirements. 

One of the more recent projects they’ve worked on was integrating and building SMS capabilities into one of our platforms; Abjayon Inc helped simplify our UI/UX design and build the requirements. There were about 25 messages that needed to be created for three different personas, and Abjayon Inc developed the customized messaging. There were also toggles to help a user decide the way they wanted to receive information and API work. 

The tech stack they’ve worked on over the years has included Microsoft SQL Server, .NET, Java, Bootstrap, Twilio, and other third-party integrations. 

What is the team composition?

The team size varies, but the most recent project we worked on had 5–6 dedicated team members. 

How did you come to work with Abjayon Inc?

I worked with Abjayon Inc before I started at my current company, but I don’t remember how we originally found them. When we knew we needed to bring someone in for our first project, we vetted other providers, but Abjayon Inc met all of our requirements.

They were talented and had a portfolio of work that we felt represented what we were trying to accomplish. They also seemed to have a great management team who communicated effectively. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $500,000 with them throughout multiple engagements. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2019, and the engagement is ongoing because we continue to rely on them for projects.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We measure success on two criteria: the ability to deliver on time and within budget and project execution. Their ability to deliver has been proven, and we’ve always been happy with them because they hit their targets and are transparent and communicative. 

Our customers have always been happy with the projects Abjayon Inc has worked on, and we’ve had increased sales. Overall, they’re hitting both criteria, and we’ve been happy with the quality of work they provide us.  

How did Abjayon Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

Whenever we’ve had a bug, they’ve found and resolved it. One of their core strengths is their project management; we work very well together. We use Azure DevOps for project management. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re great partners who are very flexible, wonderful communicators, and accommodating to anything we need. Abjayon Inc listens and understands our needs and always provides solutions or alternatives. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you communicate your needs clearly, but we would say that about any contractor. If you have any questions, communicate that to them because they’ll help you refine your requirements and figure out what you’re looking to achieve. Be prepared to be impressed because we’ve always found them easy to work with.

We needed to expand our organization quickly.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Abjayon Inc provides us with DevOps engineers and QA engineers to help our development process. They work remotely, and we manage the staff and processes. They’ve also provided us with developers during a period when we needed them. We started with the developers, then engaged DevOps resources, and later added QA engineers. 

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with Prashant (CEO & Co-Founder), Meet (Co-Founder & Managing Director), and a senior architect. Aside from them, we have a team of about 20 members, though we’ve employed up to 40 teammates from Abjayon Inc at one time. 

How did you come to work with Abjayon Inc?

We met them through a trade show we were working with. We had associated colleagues who knew one of Abjayon Inc’s founders. After we evaluated their services, we engaged with Abjayon Inc.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $120,000 monthly with Abjayon Inc for five years. In total, we’ve spent $3 million–$5 million with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Abjayon Inc delivers high-quality work and well-orchestrated planning because they have qualified resources. We don’t have metrics to quantify their contribution level because they’re integrated into our bigger development plan. Although we’ve had minor issues with language barriers, we’re overall very pleased with the services they’ve provided. 

How did Abjayon Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

Their ability to communicate, deliver on time, and stay within the budget is outstanding. We use Microsoft Teams to communicate. Confluence and Jira are our project management tools, and the Abjayon Inc team is integrated into them; we assign them tasks through these tools. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Abjayon Inc delivers outstanding quality of work, is very professional, and has qualified individuals who work hard. We’re impressed with the effort they put in and the level of service they provide. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

In hindsight, there are many things we both could have done better over the years. However, there isn’t much I would change about what we’ve done with Abjayon Inc. If anything, perhaps we could have chosen a different technology stack or spent more time analyzing components before implementing them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Abjayon Inc is outstanding, professional, and service-orientated, so they’ll provide high-quality work. Therefore, they’re worth the money you’ll invest in them.
