I’m the head of marketing at Koio, an online footwear retailer. In my role, I’m in charge of managing both our marketing and our e-commerce site.

We had challenges with finding reliable and cost-efficient Shopify developers. We had previously worked with a US-based agency, but we experienced many issues. In addition to the high cost, we didn’t have a dedicated developer who could work on our website consistently to grow with our internal team. Thus, we were looking for another partner.

We’ve been working with Stanislav (E-Commerce Team Leader) for over a year on our Shopify development needs; he has helped us develop our Shopify website. Although the site uses templates, he has also developed some customizations. Additionally, he’s in charge of maintenance as well, which includes fixing bugs and issues.

Our site has a very simple e-commerce setup, which includes a homepage that describes our business and different collection pages that organize our products within different categories. We also have product description pages, which provide information about specific products, such as the sizing, style, fit, description, and other details. Moreover, it has a check-out functionality.

What is the team composition?

We work with Artem (Co-Founder & CEO) and Stanislav. Artem is our main point of contact for sales or logistical work, whereas Stanislav acts as our lead Shopify developer and works with us on a daily basis.

How did you come to work with DigitalSuits?

We met DigitalSuits through a referral, and we were first introduced to Artam, with whom I spoke directly. He walked me through the process, and we had a few interview rounds with different developers. Then, we had them go through a small test, which they completed. After that test, we hired Stanislav, one of DigitalSuits’ developers, to work with us on this project.

In addition to DigitalSuits’ Shopify expertise, I really enjoyed working with Artem. He has a great sense of who they were — a relatively small agency. Moreover, we were introduced to very solid talent within their team. Those were the main reasons why we hired them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve had a very solid engagement with DigitalSuits and Stanislav. Since we started working with them, we’ve seen a very dramatic improvement in our website conversions, going from 0.8% to 1%, which is a big result for us. Moreover, our site speed has increased by around 30%–35%. Those are our main KPIs, and both are directly attributable to Stanislav’s work.

How did DigitalSuits perform from a project management standpoint?

Stanislav meets 95%–100% of his deadlines and rarely drops the ball or has any issues. Whenever he has had issues, those have been minor and easily rectifiable. Overall, he has been a great asset to our team. We use Jira and Asana to manage the engagement, as well as Slack and Google Meet to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

DigitalSuits’ communication is fantastic, which speaks to the size of their agency. They’re a little smaller than other companies, so they can be intimately involved in the search and communication processes. On top of that, the level of their Shopify development talent is fantastic; they have outstanding Shopify developers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything DigitalSuits could improve on.

You’ll get out of the engagement as much as you put into it, so you need to be hands-on, communicate with them, and treat them as an extension of your team to get a lot of value out of them.

We asked DigitalSuits to develop a new platform version for one of our clients. The main objectives were to create an intuitive platform rich in functions and helpful tools. Since the client is an online marketplace, it was essential to add convenient checkout and payment pages, a personal account section, and other functions that would help enhance the shopping experience for the client's potential and current customers.

One of our business partners recommended DigitalSuits as a reliable company. Various software development services and great reviews on trusted platforms were deciding factors. The pricing model was convenient for the client, and the team's responsiveness was outstanding, so the client's team quickly made up their mind and chose to go with DigitalSuits.

The project milestones included the following: setting up a roadmap, creating draft mockups, design and UI finalization, platform launch, and post-release support. The client wanted to create a stylish and minimalistic yet multi-functional marketplace platform. To help potential customers get everything they need in one place, DigitalSuits added customization features, for instance, personal discounts and bundle constructors.

Also, they implemented a Personal Assistant bot, and a Personal Account page to keep track of all orders, payment history, and add items to a wishlist. The DigitalSuits team also incorporated Blog and About pages to help potential customers quickly find the necessary information and get the maximum out of the platform visit.

DigitalSuits provided the client with 12 new teammates, including UI/UX designers, web developers, a Project Manager, and 2D artists. We helped test performance metrics on our own.

The DigitalSuits team were responsible for Full-cycle development including (requirements, design, development, deployment and ongoing maintenance). This way, they ensured high user engagement and on-page time once the platform was released.

Our client is in love with DigitalSuits and they way they provide their service. They quickly provided highly skilled developers and designers who completed the project in the best way possible. The client received regular reports and feedback on every project milestone, which helped keep track of the progress. Overall, the workflow was efficient and well-organized.

The DigitalSuits team showed a high level of professionalism and great communication skills. Our client was delighted with the final design, page usability, and custom features. Everything was done on time, there were no major bugs, and the launch went very smoothly.

The collaboration is insane! All previously discussed topics and promises and agreements were kept! We have always run within the budget as well as the timing. Considering the situation what is going on in Ukraine right now, this is more than considerable!

the project and implementation was presented and finalized in advance via Figma. Our project manager was part of both teams at all times to get the best possible outcome and make us happy.

the team spirit and especially the constant professionalism! The entire team, which operates from the Ukraine, is daily at the mercy of unacceptable circumstances, but this was not noticeable in any way within the project. And we all appreciate that very much!

it's hard to believe... but NO! Please stay as you are! Personally and also professionally! We are looking forward to the further projects.

Day-to-day communication is mainly done through Slack, and we have meetings whenever necessary. If there is something urgent, DigitalSuits is available to help.

No matter the challenge we throw at them, DigitalSuits listens to the issue and finds a solution. They never take the victim role; their team takes responsibility for their work.

We wanted a more robust e-commerce site, so we were looking for a partner with experience with startups that could work with our budget constraints but still deliver a good product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

DigitalSuits did e-commerce development for us from scratch in our old Shopify platform. They built custom themes, implemented new functionalities, and redesigned the whole look and feel of our online presence. In terms of features, they added a subscription functionality and upgraded our entire UI/UX. Regarding design, they did everything based on some Figma designs we drafted and took those to the next level to optimize certain sections of our site.

DigitalSuits has successfully completed this project, and we’re planning to begin another one quite soon — the app will deploy in just a few weeks. We had quite a complicated project, but DigitalSuits managed to lead and support us during a war.

Despite being in the middle of a war, DigitalSuits’ team has been very responsive and has deployed every aspect of the project on time. They’ve delivered projects within our budget. We use Jira to track project progress and communicate via Slack.
