I'm the owner of an outpatient private sports physical therapy clinic. Our focus is on treating athletes and active adults. I started the company in 2023.

What challenge were you trying to address with 90 Degree Design?

I needed help to design my company's logo and build our website. I had specific ideas for my company's branding and the vision of the site's functionality.

What was the scope of their involvement?

90 Degree Design has designed my company's logo and built my website. We've had a multi-part process, and the team spent around 3–6 months to finalize the logo design. 90 Degree Design has designed and built our site using WordPress. The team hosted our site for two years, which was launched before our business since we had a delay, so we didn't publish the site for a while but 90 Degree Design was hosting it. We've asked the team to upgrade different features since then. 

I've written the site's copy, and the team has created all the design elements. The site has a basic navigation plane at the top with pages about our mission, key programs, staff, and frequently asked questions. Part of the site is a contact form where users can request appointments and submit their information, requesting us to email or call them. This helps us capture initial customer data. 90 Degree Design has recently added a blog and is working on SEO. 

The team has integrated Google Analytics and a widget from EmbedSocial to pull in our Google reviews. 

What is the team composition?

Initially, our primary contact was a teammate who no longer works with 90 Degree Design, who took direction from one of the founders and helped me build the initial site. I then started working with Julie (CEO), and I'm unsure how many more teammates work on our project since I have contact with two teammates.

How did you come to work with 90 Degree Design?

I had an introductory phone call with one of 90 Degree Design's principal partners to discuss the project goals and scope of work. We also talked about the project's timeline and tentative launch date. We then had a follow-up meeting to define the project's fees and started working from there. One of the reasons I hired 90 Degree Design is because they're a small business, and I thought they could relate well to my company's mission. I also saw high quality in their previous work.
How much have you invested with them?

The initial budget for the website and logo was under $7,000. We pay a $60 hosting monthly fee, and we've paid for additional web work, which they bill at $100 an hour. Overall, we've spent close to $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with 90 Degree Design on our company's logo in the summer of 2021. We planned to launch the company in 2022, but I had some issues with my business location and had to change it. We launched the business in 2023, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When we launched, I paid for their tier-basic SEO service. 90 Degree Design set up Google Analytics and delivered monthly reports showing me web traffic and different things regarding Google listings. We've asked the team to work on next-level SEO and added additional copy to the site according to our keywords' ranking, and the team is analyzing the keywords' effectiveness at this point. 

This is the second company I've founded, and 90 Degree Design's product quality has exceeded my expectations regarding budget. 

How did 90 Degree Design perform from a project management standpoint?

90 Degree Design performs well regarding project management. The team is honest regarding timelines, and Julie is highly responsive via email and completes the work efficiently. We've talked via phone calls and have later transitioned to email communications. Prior to the SEO services, we spoke with Julie through Zoom for an hour to discuss our SEO goals. We reviewed other companies' SEO proposals before choosing 90 Degree Design. We've used Google Sheets at some points to share ideas.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to highlight both Julie's and the other teammate's work. They both care about their work. , and I continue to feel that way. I've been working with Julie recently on several updates on the site. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm mostly impressed by my personal relationship with 90 Degree Design. It's important for me to do business with local companies and support my community. I like working with companies that take pride in their work and have helped other small businesses rather than outsourcing to a bigger organization in another country that promises quick results. 

I've talked to 90 Degree Design about this, and they've suggested I be careful because some companies that promise top results quickly use unconventional measures, and 4–6 months later, when Google figures it out, the client is left in a heap. I like the team's honesty and integrity. I trust 90 Degree Design, and unfortunately, there are other unscrupulous teams working on web-related projects. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

When we started building the site, I didn't know if 90 Degree Design had other customization packages available that offered more robust pathways. We didn't get deep into that, and that is my only area for improvement. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

90 Degreemeets with clients and ensures they're a good fit before engaging with them. The team has a methodical process for building websites and asks for a lot of information regarding your industry's market. Clients need to understand that they'll need to invest time, but they'll get an excellent product. Clients who are looking for a relationship-driven experience versus a transactional one should engage with 90 Degree Design. 

If a client is in a hurry and needs quick delivery, I'm not sure that is one of 90 Degree Design's strengths. I think this is ok because when you try to rush a project, bad decisions can be made. I appreciate how upfront they are with me and that the project has a timeline and methodical process. I suggest customers evaluate various service providers to ensure 90 Degree Design is the best fit.

The scope of designing Barefoot Resort & Golf's website involved a comprehensive approach. The goal was to craft an intuitive, visually appealing interface that highlights the resort's amenities, golf courses, and accommodations.

It needed to includes seamless navigation, responsive design for various devices, integration of booking systems, stunning visuals, and incorporating user-friendly features for tee-time reservations and inquiries. We also wanted the website design to reflect the resort's brand identity, ensuring a compelling online presence that would impress potential visitors.

Increase in Average Session Duration, lower bounce rate, improved click through rates and higher organic traffic.

They worked hard from the start to finish always finalizing projects on the timelines originally outlined and responded immediatly to our needs and requests. The communication throughout the process was very good.

They overhauled our old, clunky site with a new, easy-to-navigate theme. They were also able to create a complex system to make it so that our individual sales people can have their own microsite with blogs that show up on their site, but no one else.

The website no longer breaks, which was losing us business. We also spend less having to pay for someone to update items because we are unable to do it ourselves.
