We needed help building our GA-ready product.

7Devs primarily built the frontend of our web-based product and sometimes consulted on the backend and AI. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Without 7Devs, we wouldn’t have a working product. Their code was of very good quality, and they built the systems in a way that was easy for us to scale and make changes down the line. 7Devs consulted with our CTO on major architecture changes, and their feedback was always valuable.The most important feature was the integrated chat + IDE interface, along with all the complex agent and user interactions on two simultaneous sides of the screen. This was core to our product, and their developer had a very high sense of ownership. She not only developed the frontend to the specifications from Figma but also proactively flagged areas that would be an issue. Some features weren’t in Figma, but she understood our vision well enough to implement them. For example, we wanted to show previews of the system design in a read-only mode. We didn’t have a Figma design for this, but the developer understood our product well enough that she implemented it even before we gave her a sketch. The UI was praised by many of our customers, and the responsiveness of the UI they built was always a standout in any feedback we got. We got consistent feedback that the UI was clean, simple, intuitive, and responsive.

How did 7Devs perform from a project management standpoint?

7Devs’ project management was excellent. Their project manager was one of the best I’d worked with in my career. She was constantly on top of things, always showed up on time for our meetings, and whenever we raised an issue with velocity, code, or architecture, she immediately fixed it or got the right people on a call to hash it out. She was a big reason for our very positive experience with 7Devs and why they earned so much trust with us.We tracked tickets through Linear, and 7Devs was always on top of any tickets we assigned to them. We measured progress through user stories, Linear tickets, and sprints. We mainly communicated through virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

7Devs’ project management and the ownership their developer and project manager showed for our project were impressive. Even though we worked with them on a contract basis, they were no less involved than employees of the company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had a mismatch of expectations regarding the delivery process and speed. For example, we expected that when the code reached us, it would have gone through testing, which wasn’t their way of working. We also expected faster code development. Ultimately, we hashed out a process that worked for both of us. 7Devs was very responsive to our feedback.

Project Overview:
We worked with 7Devs to build Host’n’Post, a social networking app designed to help people connect for real-world experiences. The project involved iOS development, backend infrastructure, UI/UX implementation, animations, and various integrations to ensure a smooth and engaging user experience.

Final Thoughts:
7Devs is a solid tech partner, delivering high-quality work at a much better price than many competitors. When I was researching agencies, I had five different options in front of me, all recommended by a Toptal product manager. After thoroughly investigating 7Devs, I immediately saw their potential and value compared to the others at the same price point.
I would definitely work with them again!

7Devs handled project management efficiently. About 9/10 times, they delivered on time, and if there were any delays, they communicated them transparently and made quick adjustments. They were very responsive to our needs, adapting to new requests without hesitation. While there was a minor language barrier at times with the project manager, they always ensured any miscommunications were quickly resolved.

Overall, they kept the process smooth and delivered a high-quality product with strong flexibility and responsiveness.

What impressed me most about 7Devs was their all-in-one solution. They weren’t just focused on app development—they could handle everything from UI/UX to backend, animations, and integrations. Their flexibility and ability to deliver a full-service package made it an easy decision to also hire them for a back office system alongside the app.

Are there any areas for improvement or something 7Devs could have done differently?

One area for improvement was the occasional language barrier with the project manager. There were a few small miscommunications, but they were always quick to clear things up, so it never became a real problem.

Another thing that could be better is quality control—sometimes, a few details needed fixing after delivery.

They always corrected things when asked, but catching those issues earlier would have saved some back-and-forth. That said, they were always responsive and easy to work with, which made the process smooth overall.

7Devs picked up my project from the idea. They conducted an in-depth study of my needs and devised a clear roadmap and development strategy.

After gathering the requirements, they created the design, which was confirmed after a few minor revisions.

After the design was ready, we started working on the product development. They suggested the perfect tech stack for my needs and explained why those technologies were proposed. I liked the collaborative spirit in the process; their iterative agile approach worked well to understand the progress and keep me a part of it. They took over resolving budget and time constraints and delivered exactly what we agreed. Their design team and project managers are exceptionally strong, guessing my needs from the top of my mind. 

After we completed the QA part, the product was production-ready and is virtually bugless. We're in touch for maintenance and new features.

I have my Shopify e-commerce with a payment gateway and all the necessary infrastructure running, and I'm very happy about it.

The team offers consulting and has educated us about the software development process, and in a matter of a few months, we started communicating with them efficiently. 7Devs has taken over our entire roadmap and technical strategy to help us deliver the MVP we wanted.

My main point of contact with 7Devs is Alex (CEO & Co-Founder), and we're mainly in touch with the development team, which consists of a backend developer, a frontend developer, and mobile developers. We also work with a designer, a project manager, and a QA tester.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

7Devs has successfully built our MVP and delivered a market-ready product. We have a queue of clients, and now we're busy securing investments for the technical roadmap. Thanks to our partnership with 7Devs, we haven't had to use our time in the development process or hire a CTO, and my team can spend most of their time fundraising and applying for grants. 

The MVP phase is completed, and we've established an extended road map with 7Devs. We've achieved what we expected, and although we've had challenges, 7Devs has understood what we wanted. Our engagement is successful because we've managed the business part, and 7Devs has taken over the technical part.

How did 7Devs perform from a project management standpoint?

7Devs always delivers work on time, and their project management is outstanding. This is critical for us because we needed to stick to the project's budget to be able to continue the project. We spoke to 7Devs about this, and the team assured us they'd stay on budget and meet their word. I'm satisfied with 7Devs' project management. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

7Devs' project manager is outstanding. Thanks to him, we can keep the budget and timeline under control, and we know what to expect. We don't have to worry about project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm mostly impressed by 7Devs' executive consulting. The team has guided me through the development process and integrated the right development cycle. We've been on the right track within 3–4 months, and 7Devs has explained challenges, suggested the right approach to building features, and narrowed down our vision—I feel this is their competitive advantage.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of 7Devs to improve — we achieved what we wanted. For me, it would be great if the company's services were cheaper, but they hire engineers who aren't the cheapest in the market.

I suggest that founders focus on their business goals first and then seek advice. When I started to dive deep into our idea, I realized some things could be done better. I suggest talking to 7Devs about your business goals because they'll understand them and translate them into a technical roadmap. Focus on telling the team about your business goals, and they'll provide technical deliverables.

They started from scratch- I gave what I wanted and the designed the road map. We needed a app with a complicated back end. The idea was for the app to have some type of customization so it felt individualized. The industry is antiquated so the pairing of a booking app with on line shopping is very compelling. Time lines and price have been respected and costs have been in line.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We have really worked with one team leader. Alex and Curtis have monitored progress in the background, but I am not aware how many developers are on the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The quality of the work and the support has been awesome. The only important measurable for us is revenue. This has not yet to met our expectations, but with a little tweaking, I am confident our expectations will be exceeded.

This evolved over time. They are eager to please. Now, every invoice can be tied back to additional scope of work that we authorized. My project manage(our employee) and their team leader talk often to keep the project moving forward. We all meet once a week by zoom to recap what's been done and what other measures or project are required.

I enjoyed having someone (Alex) overseeing the project in Ukraine and also having a local contact (Curtis) to vet challenges and opportunities.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No one has a crystal ball, but a better understanding of the lack of technological skills of our clients (our hair salons) would have likely led to a more favorable outcome.

7devs delivered on time and on spec. They were highly responsive to changes as they came up and they integrated tightly with our team to the point that they felt like our team.

We used clubhouse/shortcut as our task management system and their PM worked seamlessly with us on this. We never had an issue with timing or quality of work product. If there were ever issues with the code, they were responsive and quick to address them.

We already had some mocks completed for our application, but we wanted someone to take that a step further and create a design that would really bring the idea to life.

Via Upwork, I interviewed 5 different vendors for the project and decided to go with 7Devs based on their previous work, communication skills and most importantly - the fact they got the vision straight away.

For this part of the project, we required a Figma design as the final artifact. 7Devs initiated communications via Slack and we were able to work through the design process together. It was very successful.

The purpose of the work was to produce a design in Figma that could be shared with both developers, but also potential clients or investors. The mock shows how the application will work from end to end.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was first class, the project was not rushed and all feedback was executed the next day.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The standard of work is first class, they are sure to be successful, you can tell they have had years of experience together and the level of communication is added bonus.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

In this project - nothing.

I hired 7Devs to create a logo, prototype and landing page. My goals were to get a quality prototype designed in order to test the concept. If the concept was proved the prototype could then be converted into a real product.

I had been recommended 7devs by a colleague of mine. The deciding factors included the price, timelines, and quality of work. My friend had extremely good things to say so I was willing to perform a small project first to see the quality of work and timelines.

The scope of the work included the design of a logo. The 2nd part of the project included a prototype of the product. Designed using Figma. The goal was to get a user to easily understand the functionality of the product. The last part of the design included a website landing page and functional videos showcasing the product.

1) Functioning prototype that a user could understand and use. 2) Clear and concise logo. 3) Landing page that showcased the product clearly.

These guys are clear and flexible. They make it clear what their capabilities are and what the price is. They are flexible on timelines and can move at your pace. You will agree on the price before beginning. They use slack to communicate. When they say they will give an update later today, you will get an update later today.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to execute to our standards has been outstanding. When I spoke to the designer I mentioned to him that he could put his own spin on the product. I felt he had a good understanding and was happy for him to make UI/UX decisions. This turned out to be a great decision as it turned out that he knew the customer better than I had.

He knew the target market would mainly be women and adjusted the colors to suit. The colors however were not overly feminine and not off-putting to a male. But definitely designed for a female user. Seriously impressive work!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not an area for improvement but a suggestion. Maybe ask for a 1 page summary of the client's idea before beginning work. I only think this would improve their understanding of the project and allow them to deliver to a higher standard.
