We needed additional creative capacity to serve our company and clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?

5AM provides industrial design for our clients. Unlike marketing-only agencies, 5AM focuses on industrial and technology-driven companies. 5AM has created social media templates, infographics, collateral, PowerPoint templates, website design, and branding guidelines for us, as well as adding value to videos. Although the team doesn't specialize in videography, they provide creative insight.

We provide 5AM's team with guidelines, and they execute their tasks according to our creative brief, instructions, and guidelines. 5AM has leveraged Figma, Adobe solutions, and AI to complement their work.

We work with Eric, 5AM's brand designer.

How did you come to work with 5AM?

We found 5AM on Upwork. After many interviews, we found that 5AM's focus and taste for industrial design complemented our work very well.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent around $150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our clients love 5AM's work and constantly request additional projects. Thanks to the team, our work consistently increases, specifically the digital ads we create. Our digital advertising efficacy is 2–3 times greater than the industry average, thanks to 5AM's work.

How did 5AM perform from a project management standpoint?

5AM meets deadlines and stays on budget. We use monday.com for project management, and we've integrated 5AM into our system, which allows for task visibility. We communicate via Google Meet and occasionally Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

5AM has consistently performed excellently for our customers. The team ensures that colors, consistency, and paddings are the same. Their thoroughness is impressive. We've had productive conversations about that, and there has been consistent improvement.

We can be certain that, when we review documents designed by 5AM, some overlooked issues are on our side and not the team's. Our collaboration and mutual expectations have consistently improved throughout our engagement.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything for 5AM to improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Provide specific instructions on what you're looking to do. 5AM works best when they have the guidelines and parameters, but also have the freedom to execute and let their vision come to life.

We provide 5AM with the tools, such as Figma, and the goal we want to achieve, like creating an Apple design or a QR code for a print ad at an upcoming ball game to help our nation's veterans. The team can then make those ideas. That's the structure I'd recommend using with 5AM.

I’m the co-owner of Bailey Boys Services, a small family business. We provide window cleaning, gutter cleaning, pressure washing, and carpet cleaning services. We also have a plumbing company.

We needed help with branding and logo design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

5AM designed our logo and our whole branding package. For Bailey Boys Services, they did a rebranding, but for Water Heater Wiz, they created a brand new identity from scratch. We had a discovery call and talked about our vision. 5AM did some research and came to us with some color palettes. We went back and forth for a couple of months until they finished the project.

During our discovery call, 5AM's team asked us what kind of logo we wanted and what other specifications we wanted. Later, they guided us throughout the process.

We only worked with Eric, 5AM's owner.

We found 5AM online, on a freelance website. We liked their style and the previous work they had done.

We spent around $7,000.

We worked together from spring to fall 2024.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After the rebranding, we saw an increase in brand awareness and engagement. We didn't measure percentages, but people loved our new brand. 5AM's work was above and beyond my expectations.

How did 5AM perform from a project management standpoint?

5AM delivered the work on time and on budget. We communicated via phone calls and emails, and used Dropbox for project management.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We set a timeline beginning with discover all the way through the logo and design delivery. Eric consistently delivered within the timeline we set.  He provides more than just design as he is a great thought partner to go through the branding process with.

Eric is very well organized and was flexible with our needs to accomplish the project. He also was great at keeping myself and team on task in order to ensure successful deliverables.

His ability learn about our business and culture prior to jumping into the design aspect. His brand discovery process was very thorough and inquisitive. I think this is the foundation of what allows him to be so successful with our deliverables.  He truly sought to seek and understand our company and what we are trying to achieve before jumping into the design process. His logos were perfect for us and we continue to use in our branding today.

We were able to grow our event over a few years and are continuing to do so with the same assets provided by 5am.

The success of our project was dependent on meeting time-sensitive deliverables for a specific event. I was particularly impressed with 5AM's rigorous attention to the timeline. Their consistent and helpful communication, along with a well-managed schedule of weekly deliverables, kept our team on track and allowed us to successfully pivot when needed.

Our end client was extremely happy with the results, and the work gave us the design direction we needed to complete the website. We've closed multiple projects based on the work we did for this particular client.
