First of all, the time spent by users on the site has increased, the conversion rate is higher, and the cart value has also gone up. Communication is much easier now thanks to the implementations.

Everything was perfect and professional. I always received responses extremely quickly and comprehensively. The execution time for the implementations was even faster than estimated, and the eCommerce team paid close attention to every detail, combining our wishes with functionality.

I can say that eCommerce is one of the few companies that truly gets involved in their projects. Most importantly, they pay great attention to detail and are very receptive to information. Additionally, no matter the questions, uncertainties, or curiosities you may have, eCommerce always responds and explains with the utmost warmth.

Honestly, I don't know if there's anything that needs improvement, as they are always up-to-date with the eCommerce field. Throughout the entire collaboration, I never had any doubts or felt like something wasn't done right. Simply put, they are the best.

There were many factors that we use to measure our success over past providers.  The most important one would be sales and revenue increase:

I'm the general manager of Muscle Shop, a sports nutrition importer and distributor. We have an online retail platform called Gym Stack.

What challenge were you trying to address with eCommerce Today?

We've been industry for a long time. Our website was built in 2017, and after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, we focused a lot on online sales. From that point on, we made a lot of changes to our website, including migrating to Shopify in 2022.

We decided to move to Shopify due to the numerous opportunities the platform offers, including many apps and other integration capabilities. Unfortunately, we hired a different company to do this migration process, and things didn't work out the way we wanted.

Our goal for that project was to migrate our e-commerce site to Shopify and make it mobile-responsive in an efficient way. However, we didn't know this agency's past work, and we ultimately had to get rid of them very quickly because they weren't professional.

After that, we managed our website ourselves for a while, but we felt the need to grow and explore what Shopify could offer beyond what we were getting from it. Thus, I started searching for a new agency that could help us bring our site on the right path and keep it updated.

We wanted this agency to manage our website like a real Shopify website and online store, looking after the UX and everything else needed to grow it and improve its traffic.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

eCommerce Today has helped me manage and keep updated my Shopify e-commerce store. Their team handles everything related to my site, including newsletters, the website theme, and the Shopify add-ons. Basically, they do everything implied in running a Shopify website.

When eCommerce Today joined, our website's theme was terrible and very messy, so we had a lot of challenges in that regard. Therefore, they had to change the theme and layout to make it faster. The main improvement that they've made has been revamping its menu to help users find products and product categories very efficiently.

What is the team composition?

On a daily basis, I work with Adrian (E-Commerce Specialist), who is our account manager, and Paul (Director of Projects). I've also worked directly with Stefan (Founder & CEO).

How did you come to work with eCommerce Today?

After doing some research, we ended up finding eCommerce Today. I attended a very big Shopify meeting in my country and realized that there were the professionals I wanted to work with. Among the speakers who presented that day, I met Stefan.

Stefan was the only one to truly catch my attention during his meeting because he really knew what he was talking about. He was also very prepared and professional, so I felt that I wanted to work with him no matter the cost.

After the meeting, I contacted eCommerce Today, and they were very quick to respond and thank me for contacting them. That was how we started our collaboration.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay them €1,500 (approximately $1,600 USD) per month. This is a monthly plan that includes a set number of hours. Initially, when we had a lot to do to our website, we paid them a higher amount, but when we got to the point of getting the things where they should be, we switched to a lower payment plan because we would require fewer work hours per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We signed the contract in April 2024 and started working with eCommerce Today around May 2024. Our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've seen a huge impact from working with eCommerce Today. From the start, they've dived deep into our website to assess the integrations we were using before, how much they cost, and what we needed to remove. They've also removed integrations that made our website slower and affected its performance and speed.

In addition to that, eCommerce Today has improved the UX and the way customers find the products they want to buy from us. They've even implemented a feature where the website suggest products for the customers to buy.

Before working with eCommerce Today, our newsletters were terrible; no one opened them, and they ended up as spam. However, the team has taken care of that. They've taken our list of contacts and implemented email marketing rules. We used to have about 60,000 contacts on that list, but after implementing the new rules, we ended up with less than half the number.

eCommerce Today has taught us that sending emails to all those contacts is of no value if they don't open them. Instead, they've created a better email automation flow using Klaviyo, which has resulted in better newsletter conversions.

How did eCommerce Today perform from a project management standpoint?

eCommerce Today has worked very well for us, and they've been faster than promised. I've worked with other SEO and PPC agencies, and I've constantly had to follow up to see when things would be done and ask why things aren't working. However, working with eCommerce Today is completely different. Adrian is constantly asking for my opinion and feedback, as well as constantly requesting information.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I would like to give a shout-out to Adrian. He's the one in charge of doing almost all the work on the executive side. He's very focused. We exchange emails daily, and I always feel like he's a member of my team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I would be very satisfied if my competitors didn't use eCommerce Today. They're a very powerful tool to use, and they're great in what they do. I haven't had this experience working with anyone else. Additionally, their team is very professional. They're doing work at all times and constantly come up with something new for the website.

Still, what I appreciate the most about eCommerce Today is that they're very frank. For example, whenever we request something, they tell us if it's not time to do that yet and whether it would result in losing money. Other companies simply do what their clients ask for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We're a company with very good revenue in the nutrition industry, but we're not a very big company. There are only six members on my team, so we're working on multiple things at the same time. My constructed time doesn't allow me to be on my laptop at all times, and it's easier for me to communicate over WhatsApp with my colleagues.

However, eCommerce Today only communicates via email or Google Meet video calls, which is very professional of them. Still, if I could change something, I wish we could collaborate via WhatsApp or phone calls so that it would be easier for me.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Be patient with them and let them work so that they can bring you the best solution for your website. Initially, they asked for my opinion, and I told them that I wanted to hear their recommendation. You'll see that they're professionals who have been doing this for a long time, so they'll provide useful recommendations. Therefore, don't go to them wanting to do things your way and having the idea that you know better — leave it to the professionals.

I’m the founder and director of Elle Intimates Australia. We import and distribute the underwear brand of ELLE Magazine. We have exclusivity rights for distribution in Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. We import the products and sell them on our own e-commerce platform as well as wholesale them in Australia and New Zealand.

What challenge were you trying to address with eCommerce Today?

We hired eCommerce Today to assist us with our email marketing and automate our electronic direct mail (EDM) marketing.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had an initial call with eCommerce Today, where they told us about the range of services they provide, and we informed them we were interested in automating our electronic direct mail marketing. eCommerce Today created six different flows for different user situations, there was a series to welcome new customers, a series for customers that abandoned their shopping car, and so on. eCommerce Today automated these email templates.

eCommerce Today also conducted an audit of our website’s SEO and usability, which was an audit of the general functionality of our site. eCommerce Today completed the email automation, and we’re in the process of discussing the next steps with our company.

We shared the ELLE Magazine’s brand guidelines with eCommerce Today through a Google Drive folder. The brand guidelines included logos, imagery, fonts, slogans, and content. ELLE Magazine is a global fashion magazine that is 77 years old. We also showed eCommerce Today examples of the look and feel I was looking for in the emails and the kind of imagery I wanted to use. 

I provided close design direction to eCommerce Today. After creating the email flows, eCommerce Today shared a preview of each one, and I provided specific feedback. Once the design was approved, eCommerce Today worked on the emails’ functionality.

Moreover, we had implemented an SEO strategy on our site in the past, and eCommerce Today looked into it and gave us feedback about what needs improvement. We’ve discussed the possibility of eCommerce Today managing our SEO in the future.

I worked with Stefan (CEO & Founder), who was my direct contact, and Denisa (Graphic Designer & Marketing Specialist) created the email templates. 

How did you come to work with eCommerce Today?

I’m a word-of-mouth person who likes to work with companies that friends have previously worked with and succeeded. A good friend has an e-commerce business in the jewelry space, and she worked with eCommerce Today on her email marketing. She initially met eCommerce Today when they cold-called her. She was impressed by their approach and decided to work with them. 

My friend was happy with most of eCommerce Today’s work, and the only negative feedback she gave me was that the design wasn’t on brand. When I started working with eCommerce Today, I told Stefan I would be very specific about the design and asked for someone with fashion design experience. 

Stefan understood and presented me with several options, he told me I could outsource the design to another company, and I told him I wanted eCommerce Today to manage the complete project and assign an appropriate designer.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Thanks to eCommerce Today’s work, our overall sales and conversions increased. Users who used to abandon their carts are now making purchases, and I can attribute that to eCommerce Today’s work. 

Moreover, Denisa was great to work with. I asked eCommerce Today for someone with experience in fashion design because it was important to me. I was happy with Denisa’s design, and she was open to my feedback and available to make the requested changes. 

How did eCommerce Today perform from a project management standpoint?

eCommerce Today was very efficient in working within the timeframes they promised. The project’s timeline took longer than expected because it took me a while to send eCommerce Today my feedback, which was lengthy and quite specific. We communicated through email and Zoom calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with eCommerce Today’s flexibility to work around the client’s needs and satisfy them. I had talked to other agencies in the past that were pretty inflexible; they stuck to their way of working. With eCommerce Today, Stefan was open to finding a solution that worked for both. For instance, he presented a business proposal, and I could honestly tell him it wasn’t what I was looking for on that stage. I’m planning to work with eCommerce Today on a project basis.  

I also appreciated that eCommerce Today gave us more than we paid for. Stefan guided me throughout the project and answered all my questions.

I can’t think of anything for eCommerce Today to improve.
