We had a website created in 2012, which had previously got updated. But the work made by RabIT was to totally redesign the website architecture in the back end, as well as boost the website efficiency. We are a online databaase tool, so the speed is a key work.

The project was considered as a "prototype" that recover all the key function of our current website. So another project version 1 will be developed next, with RabIT.

Their company has a great team spirit, and communication is clear and fast. Plus, they have a testing team that is improving our review work.

Monthly, RabIT is sending a file where all the tasks done or in progress. It can be hard to make a link between the tasks defined in the contract and the tasks performed by the developer. So a link between those 2 should be defined somehow.

We needed a unique company management software.

What was the scope of their involvement?

RabIT Solutions developed a unique company management software for us. The team created the entire system, which has remote access. If there’s no internet, the program runs on a local server. The software tracks our customers, finances, store turnover, employee registration, order recording, and more.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 5–6 teammates from RabIT Solutions.

How did you come to work with RabIT Solutions?

A friend recommended RabIT Solutions in 2017. The team’s solutions were the best, and their expertise was clear. It was said that there was nothing they couldn’t solve.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with RabIT Solutions from October 2017 to the fall of 2018, around August. We’ve been using the software since then, and the team continues to support us.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our customers still emphasize how innovative and well-thought-out the solution is. We save a lot of time because we don’t have to visit our stores in person every time. We can see almost everything about how our colleagues are doing. Since the software was completed, we can serve more customers because our orders are better organized and more transparent.

The software has a calendar system. Every day, we see how much work there is for that day, and we know what our sewing colleagues are capable of. Our colleagues can always tell our customers the exact completion time, and the clothes are always ready by the deadline. After we receive the clothes from the customer, they can be placed in different statuses. Our customers can track how we’re doing with their clothes using their phones. If we’re ready before the deadline, they usually come to pick them up.

We’ve increased our customer numbers. When we started, we had two stores. Now, we have four. We’ve invested half as many working hours and done twice as much work. I had no free time with two stores. Now, with four stores, I can make time for my family and relaxation.

The RabIT Solutions team is extremely reliable. They always work precisely and professionally. We’ve never been disappointed in them. If there’s a problem, they respond immediately and provide a solution. We can always count on them.

RabIT Solutions always delivers what we agree on. If we come up with a new idea or request additional development, they provide a revised timeline and cost estimate accordingly. We’re completely satisfied with them. They always complete the work fairly and professionally.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

RabIT Solutions’ work has helped us increase our revenue substantially through the new software, providing long-term security to our company, which we didn’t have before. Moreover, the software the team built is looking after the finances of over 100,000 people in the UK, helping them on a daily basis.

Overall, our customers and internal team have given positive feedback that they absolutely love the platform compared to our old system.

RabIT Solutions’ project management is good; the team has delivered the main product before schedule and at a lower cost than anticipated. We also have a more organic cooperation with them, so I’m more involved on a daily basis with their work, which we appreciate because we can reach out to them at any time to discuss any matter, making our lives easier and the experience more fluid.

Don’t handle them as just an external software company. Try to manage them as a partner because you’ll get way better results.

We hired two of their developers to finish a retail and stock management web application for the city of Bordány. After completing an in-depth audit, their team presented a status report and their recommendations for further development. They also provided project manager and quality assurance during the contract period without added cost, which was a great benefit.

How did you select RabIT software engineering and what were the deciding factors?

RabIT was recommended by one of my earlier clients who had the chance to work with this marvelous team. I called them and scheduled a meeting in their development office to introduce the project and the parties involved. As they seemed the most professional and flexible, we chose them for the project.

The RabIT team reviewed and analyzed the existing source code of the software and suggested their ideas about necessary fixes and how to develop it further. After discussing the requirements they made a reasonable offer, so we accepted and started working together. They successfully finished the application using their custom PHP framework.

I worked with one project coordinator, 2 dedicated developers and 1 software tester. My main contact person was their project manager, Eszter, who was responsible for the quick and continuous flow of information between all parties.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The Telecity application received a positive reception among the people of Bordány, especially middle-aged residents, who highlighted the opportunities for locals to shop at lower prices as the greatest benefit.

The application also provides an easy-to-use stock management system for the mayor’s officers. Based on early feedback, the app is really user-friendly, and provides real benefits to its users.

The RabIT team produced quality results in a timely manner. The whole workflow and every sub-task was made transparent to us throughout, and we were updated by their project manager via phone at least once a week.

They shared the access to their issue tracker and regularly demonstrated the newly developed functions at the end of every development sprint. This was really helpful for me and my client to understand how the project is progressing, especially since they don’t have a background in IT.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Working with their highly-skilled development team made the process fast and smooth. As a development partner, RabIT was very invested and communicative. They are constantly striving to understand internal objectives in order to find the best solutions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing in particular comes to mind. The application is fully functional and meets the needs and requirements of my client. The team listened to our ideas, but also provided their own suggestions tailored to our requirements, so the whole cooperation was really smooth and seamless.

I am the Founder and CEO of Have need, Inc. Our platform is called have|need, and it is the first consumer multi-party barter platform for goods and services.

We needed an outsourced dev firm to take over from our initial team which we felt had reached its limits on the project.

What were your goals for this project?

Our Phase 1 goal was to clean up some tech debt and get to a stable MVP. Assuming a successful Phase 1 our goal is to continue on with RabIT as our primary outsourced dev team.

How did you select this vendor?

I spoke with a handful of firms that had done a code review. Of the firms I interviewed, I felt that RabIT had the best combination of talent, cost and culture.

My team had RabIT take over as primary development staff on our platform. RabIT provides project management, engineering and QA resources for our back end and mobile technology. I and my internal product lead oversee the RabIT team's work, but all code-level work is performed by the RabIT team.

What was the team composition?

We have project a project manager, primary engineer with intermittent input from a secondary engineer, 2 share QA resources, and oversight from RabIT's CEO.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We are finally approaching a launch that had been long delayed due to issues with the earlier outsource dev team. That alone is a meaningful accomplishment. We are very pleased with the work product and our interaction with the RabIT team. They have truly performed as an extension of our internal personnel.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We have an internal product lead and I am also very hands-on with the product, so we really needed project management, development and QA, and that is exactly what we have. We find the current stream configuration to be very effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Willingness/ability to work based on our project management preferences (workflows, tools, etc.), and their ability to find solutions and not just take direction is impressive.

I think the RabIT team is doing a superb job for us. I have been working with outsourced development firms for almost 20 years and this is my best experience to date.

It’s important for us to touch all areas of the business and categorize revenue. That’s what they helped us do, streamline data so we could better judge where the growth was and where we needed to work on things.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They started from scratch. We had an idea in mind of what we wanted the final dashboard to look like and sent that to them. They came back and said how much it would cost, and we realized it was double what we wanted to spend. They then helped us go through and prioritize what we needed to have and what we wanted to have so that we could stick to a realm that matched our budget.

This is the first time we’d created something like this, so it was probably a bit longer process than their clients usually have them on for, but they really lead us through it.

We worked with a couple of people including Zsolt (CEO & Founder) and Esther. They’re awesome.

How did you come to work with RabIT software engineering?

We reached out to someone else to create the system we thought we needed, but they told us we didn’t need that program. That person recommended RabIT Software Engineering. RabIT was very detail-oriented about what we could expect and what we were getting, which helped because I’m not a technology person. I needed someone who could speak my language, and a lot of the quotes we received were so vague we weren’t sure we would get what we needed.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $4,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2019 until February 2020. We have additional phases of the project lined up for them to work on.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Because of COVID-19, we were only open for 15 days with the actual dashboard before we had to shut down. Already, however, the data has helped us streamline our operational processes and see where we were. It’s going to help us see things in real-time.

How did RabIT software engineering perform from a project management standpoint?

They also created project management software we used to track our progress and the team’s responses. We have a time difference, so it worked very well. They’re easy to work with and ask for everything upfront. They gave me a long list of things they needed in the beginning. They managed everything on their hand, and if they had questions I could access them in the software.

It was a much easier process than I expected. They probably would have finished it faster if we were more on top of things on our side. I don’t have a bad thing to say about them. They’re excellent communicators and very detail-oriented; you don’t have to read in-between the lines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I thought they were great at creating outside-of-the-box solutions. We weren’t sure of what we wanted, so they were awesome at helping us find out what we needed right now and what could be pushed to the future. They gave me my foundation. The rest of what we want to do is also set up, so it’ll be easy to expand on our needs.

I don’t have any negatives to speak of.

The more detail you can give upfront, the better. Have a detailed set of instructions.

The app was a language learning platform that connects potential students with tutors. The vendor was able to have a short meeting with our client to see if they worked well together, and then schedule more appointments at various times.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They provided solid solutions for issues as they came up, whether it was a design problem, or something else. They met the deadline that was set. I was moved to a different project before they completed their work, so I can’t provide information about the product launch or feedback. I do believe it moved on to the next phase, however.

How did RabIT Software perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager was responsive and prompt in addressing questions across the board. We used Jira for keeping track of open tickets, and we had weekly calls to discuss each issue and how to proceed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I liked the promptness of the communication and the technical depth they presented regarding solutions offered.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I had an issue in the beginning with things moving slower than expected. I addressed the issue with them, asking them to reach out immediately with problems rather than waiting for the weekly call. They received the feedback and made changes, allowing the project to move more quickly from that point.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Try it before you buy it. Carve out a small chunk of the project and allow them to work on it for a couple of months. You will see the quality of their work. If you’re unhappy about anything, they’re approachable, and you can tell them about the problem directly.

I’m the head of service for a biotechnology company that works for pharmaceutical companies.

What challenge were you trying to address with RabIT software engineering?

We wanted to automatize our documentation and inventories.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re developing software to automate our work. We asked them to build an inventory system for us with different calculations within it that we can use to provide our services for other companies. They use Java for the work.

There are six modules. One is the test article receipt module, which is an inventory for our test articles that are provided by our sponsors—it’s a database for these. There’s a CRP module that is a contract creator between our company and the sponsor companies, as well as a lab book module, which is where we’d started with the development.

What is the team composition?

There’s a sales manager, a project manager, and four developers.

How did you come to work with RabIT software engineering?

We were looking for software development companies and had a chat with four, then properly interviewed RabIT and one other. We chose RabIT because they were more flexible, easy to understand, and more transparent than the others.

We started working together in March 2019 and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality is really great. They really got deep into the topic of our work in order to understand it properly. So far, the program we received from them is working perfectly.

My company was bought by a bigger one and they decided not to work further with RabIT because they have an in-house team. I was sorry about it because I enjoyed every moment of the collaboration. They still help if any problems that arise. We’re working on another project with them that is similar, but unfortunately this one was stopped because of the in-house team that took it over.

The development process was very transparent and flexible. I could look through all the work that was done by them through Asana. We also communicate via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was amazed by their enthusiasm about the project. They normally work for financial companies and were really excited about working with a biotechnology company. They really got into the details about our work and I was amazed that they enjoyed it so much.
