I’m the co-founder and CTO of Voctag. We’re an educational platform that offers audio courses. We currently have over 1,000 mentors.

We needed to update our apps.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We initially provided the design, technical requirements, and new features to be implemented. Identity Solutions developed and updated the mobile apps for iOS and Android using Swift and Kotlin, respectively, to create the native apps. Their team also developed a website, and they currently provide ongoing maintenance and support.
Users can register, log in, and explore the courses offered. They can search by category or by mentor and purchase the desired courses. Also, there are detailed course pages, and the audio player allows them to listen to lessons, which are available offline.
Additionally, the platform has a community section for comments and a mentor section, where our mentors produce articles. The mentors can also create closed communities within the app.
What is the team composition?
The team has grown from two developers to four developers; we communicate regularly with them. Also, we interact with eight people from their team, including a project manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve received achievements in the German market — for example, Google and a German publisher recognized us as one of the best apps. Our overall rating on development is 4.9 for the iOS version and 4.5 for the Android version. There haven’t been any big crashes, just the usual minor bugs, which they quickly resolved. In general, they’re a good team, and our expectations have been exceeded.
How did Identity Solutions perform from a project management perspective?
Communication is excellent, and they deliver on time and within budget. When things have taken longer than estimated, they haven’t asked for more money.
We meet every other day and communicate via Slack. We also use Asana for task management.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Communication is far better than anything we’ve experienced with other agencies. Their code architecture and development quality are also excellent.

What was the scope of their involvement?
I hired a freelance UX designer to build the app’s design. Once we’ve gotten to a point where we can start coding something, I’ve engaged with Identity Solutions.
Initially, I provided the UX designs to Identity Solutions and asked them to scope the project’s cost and timeline. They’ve then built the app over the course of 6–10 weeks.
What is the team composition?
Mohamed (Software Engineer) is my point of contact, but a larger team works behind the scenes.
How did you come to work with Identity Solutions?
I found Identity Solutions on Upwork. I received around 60 applications and interviewed about 20 vendors, including Mohamed.
I chose Identity Solutions because they asked the best and most detailed questions about the project. Although they weren’t the cheapest, I was confident that they could deliver within the quote they provided.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent about $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since November 2021, and our collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Identity Solutions has delivered a functional app on time and within budget, and I’m impressed with the quality of their work. We’ve had no bugs or customer-facing issues, and the app is running smoothly.
How did Identity Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
Identity Solutions has facilitated an iterative process, and they’ve been super quick to implement fixes. They’ve been very professional throughout our partnership. We communicate through Slack, and they’ve been very collaborative. Their clear communication has helped us get to where we need to be.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Identity Solutions’ detailed questioning is impressive — they dive into the specifics of how to build something.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.

I'm the director of the company providing ERP solutions to schools and colleges.

For what projects/services did your company hire Identity Solutions?
We hired them to develop a school platform called Ricktelz. Our main goal was to create a parent Android app and an admin dashboard for the app admins. Later on, this goal extended to include another staff mobile app and a super admin panel to control schools.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We shortlisted them through Upwork. Our first task for them was just a proof of concept for a multi-tenant application using Firebase, it was a small task that they did perfectly so we decided to assign them the whole project development.

We used Firebase database mainly for the mobile apps and native Android. The scope of work included 5 components:
Android Parent app for parents to follow up their students timetable, homework, attendance ..etc. -
Android Staff app for teachers to do attendance, homework ..etc.
Super admin panel to onboard new schools and general configuration.
School admin panel for each school to manage its data.
Reports admin panel to show more reports and charts for each school.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There were around 4 - 5 team members: Android Developer, Project Manager, Backend Developer, QA Tester. I was mainly dealing with the project manager alone.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
In cooperation with the team we could successfully onboard more than 7 schools in India into our platform on the play store however we put the project on hold when COVID-19 hit.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They were professional and improving their way of management over the time. We used Slack for constant communication, Google meetings, and Trello for tracking the support issues from our side. I believe the deadlines were perfectly met even in some timely tight ones sometimes.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They always helped to make our features better and more consistent, not just implemented the feature, they discussed it and put it in its best form. This was the best about them and the quality of work was really good.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I don’t think so.
