Project Overview

118Group redesigned the Stepping Strong Center website to improve content organization, messaging clarity, and overall user experience. The new website prominently features the Center's four key pillars while creating a visually appealing and accessible platform that effectively communicates the organization's impact.

Key Areas and Deliverables:

1. Redesigned Navigation
Create a clear and intuitive navigation structure that allows users to find information quickly and efficiently. Deliverables included: responsive design, custom design layouts, event management discovery and implementation.

2. Content Refinement
Edit and optimize existing content to ensure it's engaging, clear, and aligned with strategic messaging. Deliverables included: comprehensive content audit and analyses, information architecture design, content refinement, and content migration.

3. Visual Design
Implement a modern, responsive design that visually reflects the Center's mission and appeal. Deliverables included: enhanced design elements and imagery and custom iconography.

4. Accessibility
Ensure the site meets web accessibility standards to make it usable for a diverse audience. Deliverables included: keyboard navigation, alt text for images, and more.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The 118Group's website redesign project delivered measurable success across the following areas: a beautiful, modern redesign that enhanced the site's overall look and feel, improved user experience with streamlined navigation and increased engagement, achievement of accessibility standards expanding reach to diverse audiences, and clear communication and content refinement demonstrating the center's organizational impact.

118Group delivered on timelines and demonstrated excellent project management throughout. They were highly communicative, well-organized, and consistently responsive to our needs ensuring all the details we required were incorporated in the design. Our team was a little worried at first since website design is very much outside our wheelhouse and seemed like a very daunting process. I am pleased to say that the 118Group team was a pleasure to work with from start to finish, making the entire process smooth and collaborative.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed us most about 118Group was their ability to not only deliver on every request but exceed our expectations with the final result. They demonstrated remarkable patience and flexibility when we had additional asks along the way, ensuring everything was thoughtfully incorporated into the design. Beyond simply executing our vision, they served as true strategic partners—guiding us through complex navigation decisions, taking the time to deeply understand our content, and expertly advising us on how to best present information for optimal user engagement.

Nothing. We loved our experience with 118Group and do not have any suggestions on how to improve.

Key deliverables included a wireframe for a new website that took into account myraid programs and services that were previously lumped together and were difficult to navigate. 118 was responsible for creating a design in line with our annual report and other high-level materials and to make the site easy to use whether you were a client or prospective funding partner.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Meeting deadlines, creating individual pages for services and locations and creating a framework for an improved UX where all of the data needed was in one intuitive place.

Highly responsive and items were mostly delivered on time. Those that weren't were because of client not meeting their deadline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Willingness to pivot and accept new ideas - the company's leader also recognized when the nonprofit CEO was not vibing with their team/ideas and assigned a new staff member who was the perfect fit for the CEOs needs to get the project over the finish line. That takes leadership and emotional intelligence.

Are there any areas for improvement or something 118Group could have done differently?

I mentioned this earlier - the ability to read the room when ideas aren't being accepted by the client. They executed the perfect pivot. The only other thing I'd say is a deeper explanation for a client who hasn't gone through the process regarding what to expect. The end result was phenomenal.

I'm the co-founder of a digital accessibility company. We work with clients to make their digital assets accessible and compliant.

For what projects/services did your company hire 118Group Web Design, and what were your goals?

I've used 118's services at multiple companies and most recently, our company uses 118 for some of our web design and development needs. They're experts in web design and support and it made more sense for us to use an outside vendor who we can trust without question.

SOLUTION

How did you select 118Group Web Design and what were the deciding factors?

I've used 118 for years after a trusted resource recommended their services due to 118's outstanding development and customer support process. Unfortunately, there are far too many development shops who fail to adhere to a sound process and 118 is a rare exception. Their knowledge, attention to detail, professionalism, and accountability are extremely hard to find.

Additionally, they're just an honest group with solid values. They're also very kind and look out for the best interests of their clients.

Previous scopes of work included everything from site planning/design all the way through site launch and ongoing support/site maintenance. I've also used them for video creation as well as digital marketing.

How many people from the 118Group Web Design team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I worked with top leadership, as well as QA and content creators. While I've interacted with perhaps 4-5 individual members of 118 Group, there was always a clear point of contact such that there were always clear communication channels and a seamless customer experience.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

In additional to multiple professional site launches, I've used 118's services in the ecommerce space where I saw an increase in traffic and conversion rates, as well as a decrease in bounce rates etc.

118 Group always seems to stay ahead of the curve with their project management software and management tools. They have been flexible, responsive, organized, accountable, and results-driven throughout the workflow.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The people. Period. They are a unique company that is so incredibly hard to find. From a technical perspective, they are professional, proficient, and competent. That combination of qualities is hard enough to find, but what makes 118 Group truly unique are the people. They actually do what they say the will do and they are honest. I hate to say it, but they are almost a dying breed...except they always seem to be growing, which is no surprise given their loyal (and growing) customer base.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would provide constructive criticism, but I just don't have any. Literally, none. If you're on the fence about using their services and would like to speak with a client of theirs, ask 118 for my contact info and we can set up a time to chat.
