To create a successful online business that realizes growth and reaches business goals, you'll need to make many important decisions regarding your web presence. When you begin to focus on marketing your product or service, a key element in finding success online is to build a website to represent your brand, business, or product.

If you want your business to reach modern customers, it's imperative that you employ a professional web design that loads quickly, is easy to navigate and is equipped with features that the modern customer has come to expect.

One thing to keep in mind about building a successful website is that the needs and wants of modern customers change constantly. This means that you'll need to stay up-to-date with your site.

Keeping your web presence current will allow you to boost your customer conversion rates and avoid falling short of the expectations of your target audience. An essential factor in effective web design is to provide customers with fantastic user experience and user interface, which will improve customer retention by keeping them engaged with your brand.

Maintaining a consistent user-base for your website will help to drive revenue for your business as your traffic begins to grow through SEO and digital marketing efforts

Your business' success online often coincides with your ability to stay current, relevant, and adapt to an ever-changing digital landscape.

If you make an effort to stay on top of these trends and update your website accordingly, you will no doubt find success in your business efforts online!

How to Improve Web Design to Reach Customers

  1. Create interactive website features
  2. Produce engaging video content
  3. Write large, attention-grabbing titles
  4. Implement non-traditional scrolling and fluid design elements

1. Create Interactive Website Features

Interactive design elements are some of the most important modern website features. They are a very popular design trend for the foreseeable future as web technology continues to evolve.

There are also many different interactive website features for you to select from, which means that you can make sure your website is wholly unique next to the competition.

If you want to keep your site visitors engaged, a great way to do so is by implementing scroll-triggered animations.

It's been shown that the modern audience is interested in web elements that move and respond to user actions while on a web page. While these animations can work well at keeping audiences engaged, make sure that you use them sparingly.

If over-utilized, these elements can slow down your website and you could end up losing customers due to poor website performance and user experience. When these modern elements are well placed, they will help to promote user interactivity and engagement.

2. Produce Engaging Video Content

With the near-constant evolution of web technology, the bandwidth that a modern user has access to without experiencing slowdown grows with each passing day.

An increase in bandwidth correlates with the ability to deliver larger files, which includes video files and other media-heavy elements.

In the past, the integration of video content on a web page sometimes negatively impacted the user experience and caused slowdowns. Improved connection speeds have helped solve this problem.

Over the past decade, the increase in loading speed nearly eliminated the risk of slowdown and has allowed us to get more creative with higher-demand resources.

When you optimize the videos properly and use them creatively, these videos become a fantastic opportunity to showcase your products and services in more detail.

Sotheby’s, for example, has a video alongside their text to further emphasize the advantages they offer.

In the example above, users can read the text, but have the option to watch if they’d prefer a visual explanation. This improves their overall experience on the site, which is better for your business.

You can't rely on text alone to appeal to the modern customer, which is why it's so important that you supplement your written content with videos where appropriate.

One of the most effective ways to use video in your content is by placing video backgrounds onto your website, commonly used in header content on the landing page.

3. Write Large, Attention-Grabbing Titles

You can keep visitors on your website by grabbing their attention. A fantastic way to accomplish this goal is by using large and attention-grabbing titles, which can be particularly beneficial when you're trying to appeal to mobile users.

By using a large and bold title, like the one below, you will also be able to emphasize important words and focus on the primary selling points of your product or service.

Large, attention-grabbing titles are a way to quickly and clearly explain your product or service in a manner that is too difficult to ignore!

4. Implement Non-Traditional Scrolling & Fluid Design Elements

Non-traditional scrolling is one of the more distinct elements of modern design techniques. Non-traditional scrolling allows you to scroll left to right as opposed to up and down.

Nearly every website uses traditional scrolling, which means that the scrolling never stands out. It's functional without doing anything else.

With non-traditional scrolling, you'll be able to immediately draw the attention of the website visitor through creative efforts. Many musical bands and artists will use non-traditional scrolling on their website to highlight the work that they've produced over the years.

Scrolling horizontally allows for a more visually-appealing approach to display content without increasing the length of your page.

You should also integrate fluid or organic design elements into your website. While the majority of websites use straight lines and standard shapes to underscore their content, you should consider experimenting with lines and shapes that are more fluid.

In the real world, straight lines and geometric shapes do not exist -- by utilizing more organic shapes throughout your website, your design should feel more natural and appealing to your site visitors.

Bring Your Web Design Into the Future

If you want to have a strong web presence and grow your online revenue through consistent traffic growth, it's important that you stay on top of the trends and design for the future.

A primary way for your business to stay competitive is by making your website more appealing to your target audience, which you can do by maintaining your presence, implementing modern designs and creating engaging, attention-grabbing content.

Following these tips and staying on top of these efforts will allow you to exceed the customer's expectations, ensuring a successful and effective website for years to come!
