I am a Manager at one of India’s leading private life insurance companies, that offers a range of individual and group insurance solutions. In this role, I am accountable for website and application UX design that can truly deliver real business outcomes.

One of our key insurance products had been modified so many times by various agencies in bits and pieces. From time to time, we kept adding a lot of features in that product that by the end of the day it became a super complicated from user experience design point of view.

This being a complex journey, we were looking to find the best UX partner to help this make a success. After evaluating a couple of UX design agencies we zeroed down to ZEUX.

What were your goals for this project?

The things that we were focusing on was to help us improve the following metrics: o Higher ATS (ticket size) o Higher attachment rate o Higher STP (without call center intervention) o Higher Conversions

How did you select this vendor?

During our very first meeting for proposal walkthrough, ZEUX not only shared the approach for the current challenges but went beyond what was expected. As a staunch consultant, they looked at the overall health of our website and product by showcasing the high-level review which gave us more confidence in associating with them as our UX partner.

During the evaluation process, the key criteria were the years of experience that the leadership team bring to the table. However, with ZEUX the additional bonus was that they already had enough and more experience working in the BFSI domain.

Describe the project in detail.

This product underwent 3 stages. Problem Definition, Design, and Development. The initial problem definition included an understanding of the business, stakeholder expectations, and user needs and expectations. The second phase involved redesigning the journey to match user expectations.

Wireframes were created and visual design applied once the journey was agreed upon by all key stakeholders. Post this, a user test was conducted to ensure that the new designs indeed matches with the user needs and expectations and will help aid users in completing the flow and quicker decision making. Post this, responsive front-end HTML was created and were integrated into the core system.

What was the team composition?

The team comprised of 1 UX lead and a Sr. Designer with oversight from VP – UX. Since we were also getting the HTMLs done from ZEUX hence it also involved the programmer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The design went live in phases. Post the full launch:

• The number of policies issued increased by over 40%
• Average ticket size increased by over 30%
• Customer ratings for this product increased from 64% to 73%
• Rider issuance increased by 40%
• Mobile app - NOPS increased by 30%.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

By now we have worked on three projects with ZEUX and have plans to work on many more which talks for the quality output and great work that they have done. They have been really appreciated by our senior stakeholders as well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The best thing about them is that they are not someone who’ll execute what is being asked but will give sound advise on how it could be done better like a true consultant. They worked collaboratively as an extended arm of our company.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Since this was our very first project hence there was little friction initially like it is in any relationship. However, as we continued working together on other projects things got working for us better. So yes, I hope if there is really something that I want to be improved or rather strengthened is our working relationship with ZEUX.

We had worked with Zeux for designing screens for our new customer facing mobile application PLANET.

This project was for providing seamless journeys to customer for paying their EMI or servicing their loan account. Zeux helped us to design the flows through survey results, interacting with internal team and providing industry benchmarks.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have the Planet app launched in April, and have got positive reviews with 5 lac plus downloads in last 5 months.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was very convenient to connect to them at any point and their delivery was always on time. They were completely aligned to our project goals.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It was their skills that were pretty impressive. We had closed most of the designs in one go. Also their quick turn around time helped us achieve our project goals on time.

There is none that I am able to think of.

We are pleased with the detailing that Zeux team showed. The pathway is still under testing phase but the designs and UX flow is aligned with our internal strategy

To better the design of UI UX of the App and increase the conversion rate of the Landing page for course registrations.

Saw their work which was exceptionally good and also got references from other clients.

Since online programs became important for us and we had to seamlessly transition from on ground programs we needed a partner to handhold us. Zeux did that very well. Our product is quite a different product in terms of experience and communication. We wanted the landing page to be seamless to aid the registrations for the program. This excersiise which Zeux undertook along with our team increased the registrations by almost 100%

Being in the UX industry for over 8 years, I am aware that the founders are thought leaders in this industry.

While we had a great solution for our current users, we were exploring opportunities on how else we can provide a better experience to a specific cohort in our user base. We did identify several opportunities but there was no consensus in the direction we needed to take in terms of the UX Strategy.

That’s when we involved ZEUX to help us define one clear and coherent UX strategy. ZEUX conducted few workshops and JAD Sessions.
