BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the owner of a construction and chemical supply company which is focused on water treatment and wastewater treatment needs of our clients.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Zettagrid Indonesia?

We needed to move our IT infrastructure (servers and applications) to cloud.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Based on the initial discussion we had with them, their team is very knowledgeable and is very supportive. We gave a few cloud services a small server to upload and tried their services. Even when we started with a small account, Zettagrid/Arupa's services were first class. Considering the cost of mistakes and the cost of unreliability if we choose the wrong vendor, their fast, patient and comprehensive support was the deciding factor. Price was second consideration.

Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.

Their job is to migrate our servers to their cloud, after which we will pay them a monthly fee to maintain and use their infrastructure.

We had one domain server, one SAP server, two CAD servers, and five other mission critical servers for field services, lab services, document management, project services and CRM, all to a total of eleven servers which are used on a daily basis.

The team first made a VPN connection between our office and the cloud, set up a new domain server, replicated the the local and the cloud, and moved one server at a time. The process was seamless to our users and downtime was done during the weekends or during midnight.

There was no data loss, no change of passwords required by the users and the whole migration took less than three weeks. After all the servers were migrated, they set up backup services and we shut down eight servers in our office and leaving only three servers running here.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were five people. Cloud Architect, Cloud Consultant, Service Delivery Manager, Technical Account Manager, Cloud Delivery Lead.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

With the cloud infrastucture, we are able to minimize our resource usage (smaller than our current capacities) for most of our applications and increase some of the others which users have been complaining of being slow. This flexibility allows us to provide better service to users.

Being connected better to the internet through their fast backbone allows us to service our field engineers and branches with the applications they need faster.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I was not directly involved and was mainly cc-ed in the email, but my IT manager was very pleased and they used another program for communication. In general, my IT Manager sang praises.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their service and support is the best I have seen and the infrastructure they use are first class (Dell supported by Zettagrid Australia).

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Expand to other services such as kubernetes and managed global cloud.
