Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the owner of NovaHomeRestore. We're a construction company from Halifax, HRM, that works on floors, paints, and windows.

What challenge were you trying to address with ZeroHero Tech?

We hired ZeroHero Tech for website design and development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially had a consultation with the team, and they offered to change our company name to something related to our work. We followed their advice, and they've helped us with branding from scratch and the prints of business cards and banners.

They've changed our logo and registered our new name in Nova Scotia. They've given us 250 business cards as part of their plan and advertised our company on Google, Facebook, and Instagram. So, they've conducted PPC and trade marketing.

They've also set up our location on Google Maps and monthly maintenance for our WordPress website. They've uploaded photos to the website and made any changes to the design or updates we request.

What is the team composition?

We've had meetings with 3–4 teammates.

How did you come to work with ZeroHero Tech?

We found them through Google. They responded quickly and reached out a day after we submitted our request. Their price was fair, and they were graduate students starting their company, so we decided to work with them. They were friendly people, so we didn't have any issues.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent $3,500 CAD on the website. We've also paid $100 CAD per month for maintenance.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven't seen any big changes in the first six months and received no calls, but the team has said it's part of the process. We need to spend more on Google Ads and SEO to be more visible to local people. We've invested in Google Ads and SEO and started getting calls from businesses and local people.

How did ZeroHero Tech perform from a project management standpoint?

The owner is friendly. He shares his phone number with me so I can reach him directly for anything urgent. We communicate via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We like their ideas. They came up with our brand name because we knew nothing about design. They've offered us some designs and created forms for each of our services, like floor removal. Vinyl, laminate, or hardwood all have different prices. Clients can easily get a quote according to their budget; we love that idea.

They have also offered our logo's color and design, which we like.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We sent a few requests for changes, which took longer than expected. I asked them to respond quickly, but they said they had issues with their servers, and some websites on the server were down. It wasn't their fault, but they should've informed us earlier.

So, it would only be regarding communication: After getting a request, take quicker action; maybe they could give their team more to cover in busy times. However, for these two years, everything has been pretty fine.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Try to check different designs for your website and ask for different designs to find your desired template. We spent a lot of money on our website, and it's worth finding the right design. Spending time on this before is much worse, and make some changes later.
