Zan’s Refuse

In the days just after World War II, E.A. Dabney Refuse Service began collecting residential waste in Henrico County. Seven decades, roughly three generations later, the family owned and operated business is now called Zan’s Refuse Service, Inc. and services the entire metropolitan area, including Midlothian, Chesterfield, Moseley, Powhatan, Mechanicsville, Ashland, Glen Allen and Henrico. We’re a full-service independent waste management company that offers both curbside and backdoor pickup for residences, apartment complexes, townhouses, condo communities, businesses and more.

All personnel at Zan’s are vetted — we don’t send strangers to our customers’ homes or businesses — we train all of our staff on the highest levels of safety and customer service practices. Our trucks are later-model editions and are kept very clean to uphold the value of cleanliness in every neighborhood where we operate throughout Richmond.

Our curbside service includes a 96-gallon trash cart that you wheel out to the curb for your collection day. Our cans have a sanitary easy-open lift lip with molded foot access and a large handle that makes maneuvering much easier with heavier loads. They are fully sealed to ensure no leakage. Collection includes additional bags of yard waste (properly bagged) per pickup. The backdoor service is the highest level of service provided. Your garbage is collected out of your own container (any kind) from anywhere on your property, so you don’t have to remember your pick-up day. This service also includes the collection of additional properly bagged yard waste.
