I’m the content manager of a food supply company. We’re a B2B food ingredient distributor.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Yorke Printe Shoppe?

When we started working with Yorke Printe Shoppe, we had a great relationship with our existing printer but decided to switch. The switch was twofold. First, we needed a big project executed quickly.

Second, I was looking back through files and realized we had been using the same printer for several years. It seemed there was never any change in pricing. It could mean that they’ve been overcharging us for a while so I had some questions. This is when I engaged with Yorke Printe Shoppe.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, they did some business cards for us. Then, we dove into larger and larger projects. They printed an extended run of our newly updated corporate brochures. Their team even put us in contact with a designer who helped and iterated with us.

What is the team composition?

I have contact with every member of their team. I got to meet everyone when I did an office tour. Most of the time when I’m looking for new quotes, I talk to Brad (Owner & President) or Tom (Customer Service Representative).

How did you come to work with Yorke Printe Shoppe?

I had heard about Yorke Printe Shoppe through some channels when we were looking for web design services. One of the web designers built Yorke Printe Shoppe’s site.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $25,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in June 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It ended up being much quicker to source a new printer. The business cards were about two-thirds of the price of our existing printer for the same quality stock and ink. There were significant savings and no compromises. In that regard, it was a no brainer.

One of the things that speak most highly about their work ethic occurred right after the brochures were printed. We had a very minor flaw in a significant portion of the brochures upon initial delivery; it was caused by an unusual mechanical failure. As soon as I let Brad know, he had a truck here within an hour to pick up all of the brochures.

They went through every single one and found all the ones that were perfect and sent those back to us within a day. Because we didn’t need the full volume upfront, they worked it into the schedule. They got the rest of them back to us with more than enough time. Their dedication to quality goes so far beyond doing quality checks. If something gets missed or is a complete fluke, they handle it.

How did Yorke Printe Shoppe perform from a project management standpoint?

They do very well with project management. They’re quick communicators and are always available by phone or email. I can talk to pretty much anybody there and they’ll be familiar with the job. My most frequent contact is with Brad and he’s definitely an expert. When he sends a quote, the estimated press date and how long it’s going to take to print is always right and on-time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind. They’ve been very solid.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t assume that you’re going to price yourself out until you have a quote. Design what you think is going to work well and don’t assume that every little thing you add is going to add cost. Talk to Yorke Printe Shoppe. They’re great at communicating what their products are and what they can do with different paper stock. Likewise, they’re also ready to help with design if you need it.
