Yogurt has worked with a product manager and CEO on many blockchain development projects. For the most recent one, they're building a blockchain app builder using React, Node.js, AWS, Web3.js, and RainbowKit.
Although the current project has just started, the client already has a platform with functional features, and they're constantly adding new ones. Yogurt has been reliable, budget-conscious, and responsive, and they always deliver quality work. Moreover, they're flexible, responsive, and competent.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I worked with Yogurt in a previous role as a product manager for a fintech company. Currently, I'm a business developer and the CEO and founder of my own startup.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Yogurt?
I needed help with project execution. For various projects, I've hired Yogurt for product development, and I've kept working with them in my current role. For our most recent project, we wanted to build an app builder for the Web3 industry.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
In my previous role, we brought in Yogurt for project execution. Their team specifically focused on the development side of our projects. As the product manager then, I was in charge of giving them the high-level requirements for them to execute the project. In total, we completed two projects throughout my tenure at my past company.
Still, I've done other projects with Yogurt. Currently, I have my own startup as well, and I'm working with Yogurt again to help me develop my product. Throughout my relationship with them, we've always worked on creating different apps for different clients using React.js and other JavaScript frameworks. I've also hired them for a project I got as an independent business developer.
For my startup specifically, Yogurt is helping me create a platform where other startups can build their own Web3 apps without using code and simply using drag-and-drop features. Yogurt is fully taking over the front- and backend development of this platform.
The idea behind this platform is very simple. It is tailored for the DeFi industry, including users who interact with blockchain systems to make transactions. Usually, blockchain-based apps have a single dashboard where users can see data related to their money, transactions, and investment opportunities. Users also interact with this dashboard to make different kinds of transactions.
Parting from this concept, Yogurt is helping me create a very simple interface that anyone familiar enough with blockchain and smart contracts can use to create their own apps. Using this interface, users will be able to insert images, text, and even read-and-write functions, giving them the opportunity to program an app without knowing about coding.
On this platform, users will also see the apps they like and easily copy and paste the most advanced features for their own app. Whether it is a banking app using blockchain or a cryptocurrency exchange app, users will be able to create advanced features with just a few clicks.
As for the technology stack specific to this platform, we use React on the frontend and Node.js and Laravel on the backend. We're also using Web3.js to create the connection with the blockchain data, Wagmi as another blockchain library, and RainbowKit, which is a wallet library that most apps use. In addition to the development tech stack, we use Figma for prototyping and AWS for server hosting.
What is the team composition?
I've mostly worked with Armen (Full Stack Engineer) and Razin (CTO), who are also the co-founders as per my understanding.
How did you come to work with Yogurt?
Many years ago, I met Armen. I had shared a contract with him for a common project; that was the first time I worked with him. When he left his previous company (a blockchain agency), I got to know him better, and later I got to know about his project, Yogurt.
Therefore, two years ago, I decided to hire Yogurt to do my first project because I thought very highly of the blockchain agency Armen had been a part of. I was very impressed with the work they did. Since then, every time I have a blockchain or smart contract development project, I go back to Yogurt.
When I got a project as an independent business developer, I wanted to hire the best partner to deliver it. Therefore, I hired Yogurt again because I think very highly of their website development and blockchain development skills.
How much have you invested with them?
I've spent over $60,000 with them, considering all of our projects combined. The budget for our most recent project is $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started our discussions for our current project in December 2023. Still, my startup is a very recent project, so we just started working on it in May 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Having this app is a great opportunity for this industry. Blockchain technology has a lot of infrastructure behind it, but there aren't a lot of apps leveraging blockchain. Enabling everyone to create their own apps using blockchain easily will give us the opportunity to have more blockchain-based apps in the market.
Thus far, we're already able to do some basic things using the platform. For example, we can already create the read-and-write functions I mentioned earlier, which is one of the key features. We're consistently having more features added to the platform.
Still, my confidence in Yogurt has been determined by my previous experiences with them. Their team has always completed projects successfully, and these projects are, in fact, still alive. We haven't received any customer complaints on our projects, and I've seen almost no bugs.
How did Yogurt perform from a project management standpoint?
We always work with Yogurt on a fixed-budget setting, and they've always met the budget. Sometimes, they've even tried to accept less money than I've offered, so overall, they've always been great in that regard.
As for communication, Yogurt is very responsive. Whenever I send them a message, I usually get a reply within the next five minutes, no matter the hour of the day. Additionally, they provide constant updates. When we start a project, they deploy a dashboard right away, so I can constantly see the progress of their development work.
Our feedback loop with Yogurt has always been on a very high level, which is one of the things I appreciate the most about them. Their quick communication and constant feedback on the progress is excellent. We usually communicate via Telegram. In fact, our teams have shared over 228 media files on that chat. We've shared a lot of technical screenshots and images while working on this project.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?
I would like to give a shout-out to Armen and Razin.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I think very highly of Yogurt and truly believe in their ability to do high-quality work. They have great prices and are very responsive, flexible, responsible, and competent in Web3, blockchain, and web app development. All those strengths put together put Yogurt aside from the market.
I've worked with other companies in the past, and I usually got part of those benefits. For example, some companies were very responsive but not as technically capable, and other companies were capable but unresponsive. However, Yogurt has met all these standards, which is very important.
Overall, I highly recommend Yogurt, which is why I've taken the time to leave this review. I truly believe in them and want their efforts to be appreciated. Additionally, I wish them all the success because I know the quality they're able to deliver.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of anything Yogurt could improve on. Overall, they're great, and they've always been flexible in adjusting to our requirements.
