I'm the chief brand officer of a company that helps European tech startups and scale-ups establish themselves in the Asia-Pacific region.

What challenge were you trying to address with WONDERHOODS K.K.?

We needed help with public relations and translation services for a European tech company entering the Japanese market. We needed a local agency that understood the market and had the right relationships because we were new to the market.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WONDERHOODS K.K. has provided PR and translation services to help us enter the Japanese market and launch our new entity in Japan. We've worked with their team to facilitate our go-to-market strategy, which has included a launch party, podcasts, and media coverage. We want to announce our entry into the Japanese market and explain our purpose, so WONDERHOODS K.K. has acted as an intermediary with the media.

I've worked with two people from WONDERHOODS K.K., including Kotaro and a translator.

I don't remember how we originally found them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2025, and the engagement is potentially ongoing. We're working with a very restricted budget, so PR is not something we can do all the time. Still, once we have more stories to tell, we might engage with them again.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We wanted media exposure, and WONDERHOODS K.K. helped us secure two interviews with our CEO in Tokyo. The story has been picked up by six media outlets.

How did WONDERHOODS K.K. perform from a project management standpoint?

WONDERHOODS K.K. has delivered on time and stayed on budget. We communicate via video calls and email, and we also worked in person when we were in Tokyo.

What did you find most impressive about them?

WONDERHOODS K.K. is professional. They deliver on the brief and timeline and give good advice when we need it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ensure everything is clear. If you're a Western company dealing in a Japanese context, there's always a big risk of misunderstanding. If it's a highly pressured project, there's no room for mistakes. Make sure you spell everything out.
