There are two applications in this project: - application for mobile devices, such as tablet interface. In the app employees responsible for quality control enter data into the system by using appropriate forms defined in the app. - web application for managing user accounts, managing database entries that are later used in the forms (numbers of fish farms, boat and truck markings, types of packaging, chemical catalogue cards).

This application is also used to view completed forms, print them to PDF files and generate reports from the data collected in the database. Main technology: JS, MongoDB, MySQL, AWS

There were 2 Full Stack JS Developers and a project manager on the site of White Label Coder.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were very satisfied with the fact that we managed to integrate the application with the industrial automation system in the factory. When a user fills out the form, application connects to the automation system and pulls live data from sensors.

The project was run by a dedicated project manager from WLC team, with very high competencies and communication skills. There were two staff on our side to provide feedback. We organized regular conference calls to discuss progress, and occasional e-mail exchange if needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team represents a very professional attitude, they’re open and easy to communicate with. The team had a firm understanding of what was required, and they showed a high level of competency and experience. We had a very clear view of the project and timelines.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can’t think of any. This was a very smooth project.

Our company was looking for a web development partner in order to update our current website and fix some issues related to fonts, additionally we wanted to clean up the database. The key requirement was to conduct a specific expertise that would resolve WordPress website and plugin updates issues, eliminate problems occurring during updates and fix font issues.

We chose White Label Coders because they had proven their competence in WordPress Development and site maintenance by presenting their know-how and project portfolio. The communication run smoothly from the very start and were impressed by their attitude and communication. They’re open and easy-going.

What we needed to do, as soon as possible, was WordPress version update together with plugins update, in addition to cleaning the database, because the whole thing was already slightly out of breath. We had an in-house developer, but we had some concerns regarding the complexity of the problem, therefore we decided to get an external team of experts to deal with these issues.

This made us feel more comfortable about the entire situation. We had also diagnosed another issue with CLS on our website, the font loaded and then it reloaded to its final form - it was noticeable especially on the website header. We needed someone to clean this up for us and not to mess up.

We had a project manager assigned plus one developer to conduct the audit and later implement all the necessary updates.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It was a win, after implementing all the changes the problems with fonts vanished and the updates brought expected results.

The project started with a call to discuss the scope of changes and was followed by an estimate. Later, we communicated through Slack and established tasks in Trello. No major issues aroused during the fixing stage and the project went according to the timeline set at the start.

The level of skill the developer we work with had is very impressive. Both the manager and developer are excellent communicators, contribute meaningfully to our conversations. Their attitude has been very impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not really. The team was quick to fix issues, and we were more than happy to get rid of the bugs.

We were looking for a partner to help out with our frontend development needs. We entered a partnership in Q2 of 2020. We chose WLC thanks to their specialisation in Wordpress which we needed. Also, the WLC's ogranisational culture is very much like ours - easy going, and really nice to get on and work with.

The project started with a Proof of Concept (PoC) from our client and a trial - we kicked off following approval. WLC currently creates new solutions as well as supporting and maintaining existing project areas in the production environment.

We currently work with a team of 5 frontend developers - 3 senior ones and 2 medium-level ones.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to release the new website to production ahead of schedule. It was a success which was greatly appreciated by our client. Developers from WLC were also able to analyse and resolve major performance issues and are currently working on a complicated data migration process.

They are really easy to work with. All developers from WLC and our company are working together seamlessly as a team. We synchronise daily about some issues that the team encounters and discuss the best options for the project and for the client.

White Label Coders have a partnership approach which is something we value greatly. They have an easy-going attitude and together, we always find a solution which is great for both of us. White Label Coders does heavy lifting coding work primarily on WordPress. They design custom features for websites and web applications. The team has also developed a few custom web applications for us as well. 

We give them specifications, they return an estimate, and they stage their work on their servers. Once everything is completed and ready to go, they put everything online. Right now, we’re working with them on updating a high-profile client’s calendar.

So, White Label Coders is upgrading and replacing that calendar. After we gave them the specifications, the team came back with a detailed estimate along with a timeline of when it could be done.

They’re not an inexpensive service, but they are very thorough. When we give them specifications, White Label Coders often comes up with ways to do the project better. Thanks to their help, we can take on projects that would’ve otherwise been a strain on our team.

White Label Coders’ project management is good. They always keep track of scope and time. They’ve stuck to their timelines and have met all expectations. When the team is not available, they always let us know ahead of time. 

When we give them something to do, we know that the QA is going to be good, delivered on time, and done right. We occasionally use Basecamp with them.

Their advantage is that they are efficient and detail-oriented, and they think outside of the box.

No, not that I can think of. It would be great to have better rates, but they provide great value.

Bring a solid scope to the table that White Label Coders can look at. Don’t give them an open-ended project; they need to be able to understand it and bring their expertise into the process.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provide us with the right people at the right time, which makes us very flexible to our clients. They do what we ask them to do—we create a project or tasks, which they then take care of. I contact them if there are any issues or if I want to discuss a solution.

The work is mainly Magento and WordPress development. A recent project was for a company that had an outdated Magento webshop and WordPress website. They needed a new platform that integrated the shop and the site. We created a WordPress WooCommerce site, doing the design in-house. Developers from White Label Coders created the template and set up for the WordPress environment.

Overall, the quality is very good. They’re flexible and responsive. Most of the time, we work with the same developers, so we get to know each other and get to know how people prefer to receive assignments or task descriptions.

How did White Label Coders perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of the time, I send any questions I have to the project manager so that she can plan with the developers. Prior to that, I had been assigning things to the developer myself. Using the project manager has been working well and helps to keep everyone focused on the right tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their flexibility has been impressive. We often have lots of smaller tasks and several different projects going, and they’ve been able to switch between them smoothly.

Not that I can think of.

It’s important and would be good to get to know them. Have a call, share screens, and show them what you mean before starting the project. You can also visit them to meet them in person. We even had a developer over for a couple of weeks, so he was working from our office on the project.

We were looking for a custom software solution to help manage our business. None of the existing workflow systems suited our needs sufficiently.

What was the scope of their involvement?

White Label Coders developed a custom software solution that handles multiple aspects of our business and runs our daily workflow. They’ve worked exclusively on our system since they first developed it five years ago. We came to them with a beta version and then we had specific requirements. Since then there have been times that we gave them detailed requests and others that were open-ended requirements with a goal in mind. We constantly change things, trying to improve, grow, and scale. Over time, every module has been rewritten and improved upon.

The system has a huge range of capabilities. For one, it’s a full job management system that lets us create new jobs and log customer and device information, job status, pricing information, and other details. It’s also a part management system that integrates directly with some of our vendors so we can place orders and manage inventory. We have a full CRM with customer information, integrated with our email platform and quote forms on our website. We can process payments and refunds and look up transactions. There’s a dashboard feature for reporting. It integrates with our VoIP phone systems and we can use it to send and receive text messages. The settings are configurable to multiple locations and different user permission levels.

What is the team composition?

I've worked directly with the owner as well as a lead senior developer. We work with different developers on a variety of tasks so have probably worked with over a dozen people over the years.

I was originally connected to them through a Business Network International (BNI) group. They're part of a BNI group in Poland and I was part of one in Florida. They were looking for partners in the U.S.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

This system runs the entire backend of our company. Without it, we wouldn't be able to get done what we need to get done. It's an integral part of our day-to-day function. It's not a marketing project so it hasn't increased our ability to gain customers but it's the functional foundation for us.

They’re a great team to work with. They've always delivered exactly what I needed. I generally assume that they can do anything as far as automation, programming, and development are concerned. They’ve been exceptional and I've always been fully satisfied.

How did White Label Coders perform from a project management standpoint?

Email is our primary form of communication but we interact in a number of ways. We’ve used Skype and Zoom for video chats. My team uses slack internally and our main developer added a channel specifically for our system. We use Trello to handle some projects. I’ve also met their owner in person and will do so again in a few weeks.

They’ve performed great. Whatever internal project management systems they use seem appropriate and have worked. From my point of view as the customer, things have been seamless.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The deliverables for the price. They have a great rate compared to alternative options. I had worked with developers here in the U.S. in the past and people in the same price range were much slower or much less effective. White Label Coders are good. They have a whole team behind them. They get things done quickly, effectively, and at a good price.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing immediately jumps to mind. I don’t have any complaints. Maybe they’ll struggle to manage the ebb and flow of work as they bring on more talented staff members but I haven’t experienced that. I think any company can use improvements in something but I can’t think of anything specific.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice would be to give them a try. If you're ready to dive into a $75,000 project with them, go for it. If you're not quite sure, do a test project. If it's between these guys and someone else, I would absolutely recommend that you give them a try. They do a solid job. I think anyone who gives them a try would be just as pleased as I was and willing to trust them as much as I have.
