We wanted to refresh our website and do SEO.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired them to redo our WordPress website homepage and two other pages within. I sent them all the necessary information including our branding, theme colors, illustrations, animations, and more. I paid extra for quick turnaround time.

I had one account manager, but I was transferred to multiple people throughout my engagement with them.

I found them through a web search.

I spent around $2,000.

I hired them at the beginning of September 2020. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

They sent me their initial version of the new homepage. I provided them with a list of changes I wanted. However, the second version was even worse than the first. I felt like they weren’t reading the brief or looking at the changes I requested. When I brought this up, the team was condescending and rude. They didn’t try to understand my problems and instead tried to upsell me. 

How did Web Experio address the challenges that arose?

I was yelled at by people when I tried to call, and it was also difficult to get a hold of my contact. There were always delays. They said the delays were due to QA, but each time I got the homepage from them there were typos, misplaced graphics, and other issues. 

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

The work was delayed time and time again even though I had paid for it to be expedited. I invested more money into the project, but I still didn’t get a satisfactory end-product. 

How was project management handled?

The project management was really bad. They told me they could design my new homepage within 48 hours. However, three weeks later, I still didn’t have a homepage. When I asked for a refund because I wasn’t happy with their work on the homepage, they refused. However, their website states that they have a money back guarantee. They gave me the money back for the two other pages because they never started them. 

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

No. 

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

I wouldn’t recommend working with them. Many of the reviews I read after I stopped woking with them had the same issues that I did.
