I’m the head of digital learning at an automotive company, working to delvier performance focused learning, driving results in our retailer network. We own and operate a portfolio of iconic automotive and mobility brands, offering innovative vehicles and mobility services with a focus on sustainability and technological advancement.

What challenge were you trying to address with We Are Acuity?

We needed to change our brand inwardly and outwardly. We also needed to strengthen our processes and have greater clarity on our values, mission, and objectives. Additionally, we needed to ensure our communication was on point.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We Are Acuity has been brought in to help provide visual identity support. More importantly, they’ve helped us understand what we’re all about in a way that our entire department can grasp and connect with. This has had a direct impact on our behaviors and actions, resulting in better communication, improved branding, and our actual core KPIs.In terms of deliverables, We Are Acuity has helped us with our tone of voice, visual templates for emails, brochures, letters, physical building artwork, system usage and integration, marketing and communication support, quality control, copywriting, graphic design, web design, and HTML support. They worked closely with our stakeholders, and they did a lot of the work, transitioning to a model where we can do a lot of the work in day-to-day operations (allowing us to do it ourselves)

We started working together in January 2023, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen higher training engagement and quicker uptake of training. We’ve also seen a direct link between communication engagement and performance, as well as a simplification of systems and removal of unnecessary systems. For instance, we’ve seen a +4% higher open rate and +8% higher click rate than the benchmark. We’ve also consistently achieved compliance on time-sensitive training, with 100% so far this year. Our qualification rates are also +7% than previous years.

How did We Are Acuity perform from a project management standpoint?

They always deliver on time. We Are Acuity is very good at working on a tight brief and is always upfront about the reality of the job at hand, not allowing the setting of unrealistic expectations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We Are Acuity listens and understands the greater, detailed outputs. They don’t just make stuff look good.

The We Are Acuity team have provided so many great ideas since 2018, and been an extension of the Book Depository team. I'm proud of all the creative campaigns and eye catching visuals we have produced together for customers around the world. This includes but is not limited to:

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were adaptable and became an extension of our team by providing skills we didn't have in-house. The quality of their work is high, but cost effective.

Are there any areas for improvement or something We Are Acuity could have done differently?

As with any creative agency, sometimes the initial draft ideas don't match what the client had in mind. We found that for larger projects having a virtual briefing session, and sharing of mood boards reduced the churn in agreeing on a final design.

SOLUTION

How did you select We Are Acuity?

Competitive selection process of long listing and short listing to 3 and personal recommendation. Panel centred on myself, with marketing team and business P&L stakeholders.

Acuity added insight and creative expertise to an established and successful marketing and account management team. Taking the brief, Acuity planned targeting, channels, timelines designed content and collateral for multiple campaigns distributed through our digital and traditional channels using customer and prospect data. Within the national market, highly targeted to customers and prospects the market surrounding c.240 individual training locations.

What was the team composition?

We engaged directly with business owner Peter and two of his account management/creative team. There were more contributing that were not client facing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

A series of planned campaigns that met their reach, engagement metric targets. Contributing to a 8% YOY increase in margin and increased levels of repeat purchase within the defined geographic areas targeted. Exposure to Acuity's creative approach inspired and developed the vision and capability of the in house marketing team. Lead to Acuity being hired for subsequent campaigns in other divisions.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Interaction between Acuity and the internal team was exemplary. Managed by our usual campaign planning business processes.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Listened to the brief, with confidence and insight to challenge preconceptions, and the team led a collaborative approach to finding solutions.. Have been happy to recommend their work to my peer group.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Only the learnings that should be expected to be gained through an innovative campaign approach - and were rolled out during the campaigns cycle - establishing a working relationship to execute the approved plan, to more precise targeting, finessing creative etc.
