Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re focused on ERP, and our clients are typically manufacturing and wholesale distribution companies. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Vicky Inc.?

We share an office space with Vicky and that allowed us the opportunity to create a couple of videos together. This project was an experimental marketing campaign for us.  

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We already had our own marketing content that we developed internally, but it was pretty straitlaced. It had a common language, and it was pretty boring, to be honest. That’s why we wanted the experiment to be all about trying a different approach — to incorporate humor into the videos. 

The Vicky team completed two videos for us. They did everything from pre- to post-production. We did a limited release of the videos, so we didn’t really put them out on social media for everyone to see. Instead, we had a couple of focused campaigns where we used those videos.

What is the team composition?

The project was completed by different people, including Erik (Founder) and his two actors who were part of the videos.

How did you come to work with Vicky Inc.?

I subscribed to Erik’s work, and he was also one of the first people I met in our shared office.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $600.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2018–March 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The videos that they developed were very funny compared to what we see in our industry. On top of that, the feedback that we received from third-party stakeholders was positive. External stakeholders appreciated that there was humor laced into the videos, and it was different than what they normally see. Above all, people remembered us as a little different from our competitors, and for that, our experiment was successful. 

How did Vicky Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated in a very simple way — through email. We also had scheduled check-ins once a week where we discussed and saw the changes that they were making. Erik and I had a very good working and personal relationship.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They had impressive humor – that was something we don’t normally have. Moreover, they were very skilled, and they could take a concept and run with it. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Vicky could have a more formal process in place to communicate with their clients since we had an informal way of keeping in touch during our engagement. Additionally, they were focused on the video production aspect, but maybe they could’ve provided guidance on how the videos could be used and deployed once they were done – Vicky might be doing this for us soon.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have clear objectives in mind and concepts, so that Vicky can follow something based on your vision.
