What challenge were you trying to address with Van Beek & Co, LLC?

We wanted to hire a new tax firm to replace a previous provider that seemed too big, costly, and impersonal to our company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We engaged with them for our bookkeeping services throughout the year and our year-end tax evaluation. I’ve been working with them ever since that point.

We regularly work with two people.

Initially, we were referred to them. We went through an interviewing and evaluation process, bringing in about three firms to speak to. They seemed very smart, and their pricing was competitive. 

How much have you invested with them?

In our four-year engagement with them, we’ve spent under $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in 2016 and continue to do so.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re more creative in their tax planning approach than other firms. Their process has given us insight into other opportunities that we might not have known about if it wasn’t for their help.  

How did Van Beek & Co, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Throughout the year, we’re likely in contact with them about once each month. Additionally, we set time aside to speak on a quarterly basis. Their work is timely and completed as expected. The team is always available when we need them.   

What did you find most impressive about them?

They bring a rare sense of creativity to tax planning.

I can’t think of anything.
