What was the scope of their involvement?

UNLTD - GrowthGear supports our design pipeline by handling different design projects based on the requirements of our internal staff and the clients we partner with. They devise different sales pitches and mockups for us, ranging from elaborate pitch decks to simple, PDF-based client pitches. Apart from fully designing these pitches depending on our conditions, they also help us customize these when there are further suggestions or preferences relayed by our clients.

What is the team composition?

Our main points of contact are UNLT - GrowthGear's CEO and directors, who are in charge of communicating our needs to the rest of the team.

How did you come to work with UNLTD - GrowthGear?

I previously worked with UNLTD - GrowthGear when I had my own startup, wherein they helped build my website and performed other design services for me. Having tried their services before, I recommended them to my team at Twitter when I was onboarded here. Upon finalizing their vetting process, they decided to go with UNLTD - GrowthGear's team.

How much have you invested with them?

We have a retainer contract that amounts to $5,000–$10,000 each month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

UNLTD - GrowthGear's mockup designs have helped us close a lot of deals. They unfailingly deliver impressive results because they're always receptive to our feedback, and they meet all our deadlines without compromising the quality of their work.

How did UNLTD - GrowthGear perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate via email and phone calls. UNLTD - GrowthGear is a responsive and adaptable team that delivers creative solutions within quick turnaround times. Since they're a very efficient team, there are times when we no longer find the need to send them an elaborate brief — they simply take our requirements and make something amazing out of those.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We're most impressed with UNLTD - GrowthGear's innovative and collaborative approach, which enables them to bring innovative solutions to the table.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have no constructive feedback to share —  they meet our expectations with their satisfactory services.

I’m the director of an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data analytics company. We have an internal team of 75 people, 65 of which are research analysts, and the rest are software developers.

What challenge were you trying to address with UNLTD - GrowthGear?

We lacked people who could design dashboards and websites, so we went to UNLTD.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

UNLTD has done the UI/UX design of several public dashboards for us. They sometimes consult us on which form of data visualization to use, but we generally do this internally.

What is the team composition?

We work with one designer from their team.

How did you come to work with UNLTD - GrowthGear?

One of my developers knew them personally.

How much have you invested with them?

We have a $1,000 monthly retainer with them. So far, the total is around $8,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with UNLTD around December 2020, and it’s an ongoing partnership.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve gotten feedback from several clients on UNLTD’s work. All of the dashboards are pretty complicated and comprehensive. However, the results aren’t good all the time, and we’ve had several back-and-forths. UNLTD has missed some nuances, and there have been small issues. Overall, I rate them 5–6/10. They need to improve a lot.

How did UNLTD - GrowthGear perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re fine at meeting deadlines, but they have some level of immaturity in terms of deliverables. UNLTD is still an early-stage company, and their designers are at the beginning of their careers. They’ve made mistakes, and we’ve given them feedback.

We generally have web meetings for the more urgent work, but we don’t have deliverables every week. Our agreement is that UNLTD meets us at our office at least once in any given week, but we’ve worked virtually due to COVID-19.

On the other hand, there isn’t enough work for them to use project management tools. Right now, we coordinate through a shared folder on the cloud, and we’ll implement Jira in the future.

What did you find most impressive about them?

UNLTD fixes issues right away and is open to listening to feedback from our clients and us. They also act upon it immediately.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The deliverables aren’t professional at times, and there’s a lot of scope for improvement. Sometimes we have to tell them what the design should be. Moreover, there should be a lot of innovation and creativity, but they lack it in most cases. The team comes up with solutions that are already available in the marketplace and don’t work all the time.

UNLTD started a year back, so they have to improve their services and overall offering. They need to get more experience and focus more.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients need to ask about the specific members who’ll lead the project regarding communication, schedules, and accountability.

I’m a senior account manager for a marketing agency.

What challenge were you trying to address with UNLTD – GrowthGear?

I needed someone to help revamp a mobile app for one of my tech clients, so I hired GrowthGear.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I gave GrowthGear these iOS and Android apps that were developed around 2016–2017. These are reward points applications that will be used by my partner for B2B engagements. Users could upload their invoices and get rewards after validation.

The various libraries were depreciated and the code was no longer working so they revamped the applications and made certain changes that were required on the platform. The team also developed new modules for us and designed some of the UI/UX. 

What is the team composition?

I’ve interacted with three people but I don’t know how many are involved in the backend.

How did you come to work with UNLTD – GrowthGear?

I  was searching for agencies that could revamp old mobile apps when GrowthGear was referred to me. We held a couple of meetings in order for me to understand the other projects that they’d done in the past. I liked their approach so I hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $1,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2021. The first phase of development took around 45 days, which was what was agreed upon timeframe. They continue to work on the mobile apps and are now on the second of the three project phases.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

There were some issues during the initial phases when we handed all the code over to their team, but that’s been resolved. They’ve given us documents pointing out possible future issues and what solution we could use. We’ve made modifications accordingly.

They’re good at what they do. I’m currently talking with them about web development services that they could provide for me in the future.

How did UNLTD – GrowthGear perform from a project management standpoint?

GrowthGear is good at understanding and managing the project. We have regular meetings and the team communicates properly and transparently. 

They meet most of the deadlines. There were some delays but it was completely acceptable from everyone’s perspective since it was brought about by the pandemic.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about them is how well they communicate. They always explain the problem and provide a solution for it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’re good at what they do.

Be clear with your specifications and requirements. It’s better to have the prototypes and documents in place before you start any project.

I am the assistant team lead, at an IT service firm based in New Delhi. We work with clients all over the world.

We were working on a team management application with a tight timeline and hence decided to outsource the design of the application to speed up the process

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

UNLTD had worked with an impressive clientele where they had delivered user interface designs for complex B2B applications before. They had come up with an impressive design strategy for our problem on the main pitch presentation.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The project had three phases primarily:

• Ideation and vision: The design team had a deep dive session exploring the vision and collecting critical ideas for the application -
• Wireframes and IA: The team created a wireframe and information architecture for the whole application. The team collated feedback and then revised the designs accordingly.
• High Fidelity Wireframes & Prototyping: The team then built high fidelity wireframes and created a fully functional prototype of the application

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

3 team members worked:

• 1 project manager
• 1 Senior UI designer
• 1 UX Researcher

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to reduce the team's response times by 15% and increase team effectiveness by 25%

The project manager ensured that the communication was effective between the teams

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team and execution were on point. We loved the team's communication and behavior of sticking to timelines.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think they could be more agile, that would help move things faster.
