I’m the managing partner at a property management real estate company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Univest?

I’m currently under contract for buying a piece of commercial real estate property, and I need financing for neighborhood improvement zone-specific lending.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Univest is helping me acquire a $4 million loan to purchase a piece of property that has complex underwriting requirements. 

What is the team composition?

I work with Pete (Business Development Manager) and a relationship manager. 

How did you come to work with Univest?

I met Pete when I was in the banking space. He was in the real estate business as well, though he switched to Univest around the same time that I was in banking. I knew they were the right fit when Pete introduced me to the relationship manager. I asked them all questions about neighborhood improvement, and they were knowledgeable about it — I was impressed. They also acquired a term sheet for me. As a result, I hired them. 

How much have you invested with them?

Once everything is done, I’ll be paying a $4 million loan. 

What is the status of this engagement?

This particular project started in October 2021, and the engagement is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Univest is great. Even on Thanksgiving Eve or when they’re on paid time off, they still take my calls. I’m impressed by that. 

How did Univest perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve hit all their deadlines, and we’re early on a lot of things. That’s greatly appreciated because I have to move quickly for this particular deal. To communicate, we use emails, phone calls, and text messages. We also meet in person. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their knowledge about neighborhood improvement zones is impressive. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any so far.
