Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of Deepindovoice.com, which offers voiceover services. Most of our clients are from Indonesia.

What challenge were you trying to address with Uniqonmedia?

Aside from working as a voiceover artist, I also work as a communication manager and designer for a nonprofit organization called Atma Connect. 

Every now and then, we need explainers or motion graphics to share with users, and those come from Arnold (Owner, Uniqonmedia Creative Studio).

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Not only does Arnold create videos, but he also writes scripts and creates storyboards. 

I’ve made two, one-minute-long videos with him. They are explainer animations that introduce our app to users.

For one of the videos, I asked my team to write a script, and Arnold visualized the storyboard. He drew all the characters himself. At this time (around 2016), he was working alone with no assistants, so he worked everything out himself.

What is the team composition?

I communicate directly with Arnold, and I’m not sure if he works with anyone else. 
How did you come to work with Uniqonmedia?

I believe he found me on Fiverr in 2015 and ordered a voiceover for a TV ad from me.

We kept in touch after that project because I was interested in learning about animation and video. He’s also had some repeat orders for me, which continue to this day.

How much have you invested with them?

I paid 3 million Indonesian Rupiahs for a one-minute video (Approximately $300 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with Arnold in mid-2015, and the video projects take 1–2 weeks at the most.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The video Arnold created for us has been really helpful. It’s featured on our YouTube channel and our social media platforms. 

We’ve gotten satisfying results through running projects with him. However, the video services that Arnold provides are a bit pricy for the Indonesian market. 

He has a very solid style, but he could also explore new things. Whenever I see an animation online, I’ll know right away if it was created by Arnold by the style.

How did Uniqonmedia perform from a project management standpoint?

Arnold is a very punctual person. Once Arnold makes a promise, he’ll keep it, and he’s very dedicated. He’s never missed a deadline, and that discipline is what makes him different.

Communication is a challenge sometimes because Arnold lives in East Java, Indonesia, and I’m in the capital city of Jakarta, which is about 800 kilometers away. 

The back-and-forth communication through phone calls and WhatsApp chats is a bit difficult. We don’t see each other in real life, and that’s the biggest challenge.

What did you find most impressive about them?

He’s a perfectionist. He always pays attention to details. He doesn’t just want the money; he treats every project with great dedication.

Also, he loves what he’s doing. Once, he told me that when a client asked for a video (just a rough animation video) on a low budget, he still needed to make it perfect. That’s what makes him different from other people.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think he could improve his English.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients need to keep up with him. Once, he had interns working in his office who couldn’t keep up with him, so they were out. He is a very disciplined worker.
