For what projects/services did your company hire this vendor?

Build out of our business premises

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Complete buildout of the interior of our business premises, from concrete shell to finished unit. We were looking for a general contractor that could take care of obtaining all permits, provide materials and labour.

Project included coring of all drainage, building walls, running electrical and data wires. Installing HVAC and lighting.

What is the team composition?

I believe their where 5 people on site, from framers to electricians to plumbers.

How did you come to work with them?

Put out a construction job for quote and interviewed several companies. Selected two by 4 from the companies that quoted for the job.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began in May 2018 and wrapped up in December 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have patients compliment us on the design of the office and say it makes them feel at home. All of our electrical and data wiring has worked flawlessly which has allowed us to get on with the operation of our business.

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

Two by 4 performed excellently! We had several speed bumps along the way, but they adjusted schedules and resources and managed around these. Communication via phone and email was great and response times were excellent no matter the time of day or night.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The owner Wayne takes ownership of the project and works with you closely to get it done. You get a real sense that they care. Two by 4 was the most expensive quote we received but we felt they more than earned the money with the exceptional service provided and by taking care of the multitude of issues that arose.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Overall no, Two by 4 exceeded our expectations. If I had to pick one thing I would have liked to see more detail in the quote.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a very clear idea of what you are after. Get several quotes and compare what each of the companies are including in their quote. Two by 4 offered the best value for us. They essentially took care of everything.
